Rebecca Unver is the worst teacher , she is rude , horrible to the kids , and an unhappy miserable person: you can tell by how she speaks. A lot of children including my son told me that she throws their homework on the floor and makes them pick it up like it's trash . She's the most unfit person to be a teacher and I'm wondering everyday why she's still there. She also likes to bully her class and say mean things to them , I have a long list of evidence and have met with the principal regarding her behavior but I needed to post this and warn other parents , I wouldn't want their child to go through what these kids have gone through.

Children from my family has attended Vine Elementary school for years and it has always been an…read moreelite school until these past few years. but one thing that bothered me the most was how Mrs Levesque humiliated a staff member from the after school program (RAS) because she made a report to CPS when there was reason to be concerned for a child's safety and well being. I learned that this staff member was fired for contacting CPS, as she is mandated to do. As many know and I, myself knows very well, that ALL school staff members are mandated reporters. One day when I went to pick up my granddaughter I saw Ms. Levesque approach this staff member and a few mins later that staff member came to release my grandkid and saw tears down her cheecks so i asked what was wrong the staff member told me that mrs Levesque had just humiliated her with saying to use this as a lesson to be more professional not only for herself but her staff and to learn to do her job better. I found that very disturbing that the principal would tell her this after this woman had already lost her job and it was her last day at Vine..not professional at all.

I love to go watch the high school plays and musicals on this campus. They have a great theater…read moreprogram and so many participants that they can have whole separate casts for the same show, alternating performances! Their theater space is amazing, one of the nicest I've seen on a high school campus. Tonight we came to see " Little Shop of Horrors". All the students acted, sang, and danced their hearts out. We really enjoyed it! It's great to see family, peers, and teachers come to watch and support them.

There is one teacher who really appears to bond just a little better than the other. Not sure what his name is but as the kids where walking up to get their promotional certificates for graduation yesterday 6/4/25 he did special gestures with each and everyone of his students which was a treat to watch. Thank you to that awesome teacher! My biggest complaint was that the promotion was exceptionally long! I attended a college graduation and a HS graduation both within these last 3 weeks and this 8 grade promotion by far was the longest! Maybe if the principal hadn't gone on and on and talked so much it would have made it much shorter and more enjoyable. The video at the end was absolutely great and as each one signed off made it even more special. This is the second promotion I have attended for this school. Maybe next year make it more about the kids and not the principal and shorten it. Congratulations to class of 2025! Go little sharks and become big sharks!

Library is open during lunch and after school for any student to take an AR quiz to reach their goal or get ahead. Grovecenter also offers Saturday school for students to make up a day the were absent and have it cleared off completely. During that time AR quizzes taken will be added to their goal as well. Valet drop off and pick up is another great perk and saves time and hassle of looking for parking. The new principal Mrs Williams is amazing. She seems to always have a smile on her face and really love it there. The school is great.

I was ridiculed as I couldn't spell "color" right as I learned it as "colour" and the blatant racism from students because of the way I pronounced words or how I dressed and looked because of my parents financial situation at times. There was a few teachers I felt comfortable with that made me feel like a normal student there but I remember being told I couldn't report my bullying because it happened yesterday and not recent so I spent hours in the play ground with kids picking on me and not feeling confident in my ability to communicate that I'm being bullied. That carried through till 5th grade when I made decent friends.
