I have a few banks to my name and chase is by far the least customer oriented. So I got covid survived it and in the process ran up a few overdrafts we'll say 5. I wanted 3 of them refunded. I spoke to the branch manager Laurine she wasn't willing to help blamed the issue on paypal and told me she wouldn't help because I wasn't doing my "due diligence" and "rectifying" "my problems". Lets be honest a branch manager has the power to help but she didnt. Sorry I got COVID sorry we're all out here trying to survive. So what are you worth to chase about $100 if they're not willing to help someone with small overdrafts, theres zero reason to believe they'll have your back when it comes to a mortgage or a car loan. Do not bank with them. - before going in for the safety of everyone I did call. They told on the phone "if you don't want overdrafts have funds in your account".... Been a customer since 2015

There's no point in staying at a bank too long. Besides, opening up a loan. Anyways, it never gets busy here. You're in and out!

Isn't it interesting when a company gets caught giving customers the runaround?…read more The last 24 hours have been a huge commercial for Bank of America. Really any other banking service in San Diego County and maybe the world. My account was overdrawn. There was a block placed on it by Cal Coast. Money was deposited into the account by someone else, the balance was no longer negative. Of course, the block was still on there. So, I see that there is money in the account. I get in my car at night, near empty tank, to get some gas. My card does not work. I figured it must be blocked. Despite it being nighttime, I still called the number on the card to see if I could get the block taken off - no luck. I wasn't surprised. Luckily, I made it back home. This morning the first thing I did was call the number on my debit card. I ended up talking to "Mayra" - I guess I caught her on a bad day. She has an attitude with me the moment I start talking. So, she ask to verify me by text message, and it works. She begins to ask me those "four questions." I don't remember any of them exactly. Even the question about my occupation when I opened the account was difficult for me to remember, because I worked two different jobs that year. The fourth question was really confusing, Mayra asked me, "institution used to make the deposits." I had no idea. I listed every bank and credit union in the county - I could not get the answer right. So, then Mayra says that due to me missing so many questions, and because she heard me ask my mom what "institution for deposits" meant - she is giving me a "referral to the branch." I couldn't believe it. I hung up the phone. I thought about those questions, and then I called back. This time I first talked to a different employee on the phone - a guy. He asked me for the text message verification and I passed again. We start talking, and the guy says he has to ask his manager - Mayra. So, we go back and forth for a while. He won't budge. So, I hang up and go to the Otay branch around 11:30am. I was lucky enough to get a ride from my mom. I walk inside the branch. I gave the employee my driver's license. It was on the table, she never asked for it. We talk, and the two things most important to me were getting the block off, and getting the answers to those "four questions." I get the answers - the hilarious thing is "we use a different set of questions." I remember every answer, the "institution used for deposits" - your guess is as good as mine. I will find out eventually, but Cal Coast only promotes people who have no communication skills. I get told everything should work. A second employee came over to me and introduced herself and gave me her card. I walked out of the branch. As I am sitting in the car, my mom asked, "Are you sure your card works - go to the ATM and pull out some cash." I do as my mom suggested - my card still doesn't work. Same message on the receipt. I was so embarrassed for my mom that I was like, "Just take me home, I'll be fine." Ultimate runaround - I get back home, my mom was nice enough to give me a few bucks for gas - I immediately call the number on my debit card. I get some guy - he listens to my issue and sends me to his manager. The manager was a guy named, "Armando." I talked to Detective Armando and Detective Armando says - "there is a note that says referral to branch, we're going to follow that." I was so disgusted that I wasn't even upset - because I felt like I was dealing with children. I said, "I will go back to the Otay branch again - but I want you to be on the line." Also, I asked Armando, "Can you send an email to the second employee who gave me her email address? So that we can get on the same page?" Finally, Armando did something useful and suggested that he call the Otay branch. Armando calls. He asked me to wait on hold. I did - but I also asked Armando why he insisted on talking over me during our initial conversation, he apologized and said that was something others had noticed also. So, finally second employee talks to me on the phone - and tells me that the block on my debit card should finally be off. It was - only after I went through this debacle. If we have to send a selfie and a picture of our driver's license to buy Bitcoin - then why doesn't Cal Coast offer verification by phone? Because Cal Coast is - Cal Coast.

I put my atm in the first machine and selected $1,000 it made a noise and then said unable to disperse cash....Moved over to the middle one pushed $1,000 and the same thing happened. Moved over to the third and pushed $400 and I received it. Went about my business and the next day when I went to the ATM machine i noticed my balance was $1000 less. I called however it was the weekend so there wasn't anything they could do but put a claim in. They told me i should receive a temporary credit in three business days. Monday i called and they told me that the temp credit was denied and i had to wait ten business days. Its the first of the month bills is due. Tuesday morning i went to that same bank and guess what? The ATM machine was out of order. Went inside the bank and they said "sorry there isn't anything we can do but you can use our phone to call the claims dept." Finally the rep got on the phone and said "we apologize but we have to wait for tech to come out and count the money etc" far as I'm concerned one should have been out there Monday morning. A thousand dollars might not mean much to many but that is just like a million dollars to me. I told her that if i didn't pay my rent by tomorrow it would be a hundred late fee and if Bank of America was gonna pay it. She said unfortunately no. Do not bank with Bank of America. They charge you fees for this and that. They are the worst bank. I didn't want to give them a star but you have too. I want to use bad words right now but that wouldn't be Godly or mature. And at the end of the day its not gonna give me my money. However I am about to file a small claims case and sue for all late fees that I incur while waiting on them to return my $1000. Once I receive MY money I'm closing both my accounts. I had one account over 13 years and the other since 2019. I am going to write on every review platform I can find everyday until I receive my money. At the end of the day once the rep saw that the machine was out of service he should have made calls looking into when they were coming out to fix it and investigate my claim. Its Tuesday almost Tuesday afternoon and this occurred Friday night. You owe them $10 and they want it immediately. Don't be $5.00 short cause it might just cost you $35.00. Bank of America gets a minus 5 stars. Let me say it another way... If I worked at Bank of America and a customer came into my branch. I would greet them with "Hello how may I help you today" instead of "do you have a question" that greeting was not professional. Next once the customer explained to me the situation I would have walked them outside to the ATM and as soon as I noticed that one of the atm's was indeed saying "out of service" we would have walked back in and I would have explained to her the normal procedures and i would have called the specific department inquiring about how soon could we get someone out to fix it because we have a customer that has claimed not to have received the $1000 that was requested and let it be known that it was an urgency. This happened last Friday night and now its Tuesday mid afternoon. I would have made some calls to see if that temporary credit could be issued due to the fact the atm is out of service and that is a large sum of money from their perspective which is warranted. Not because she has been a customer for over ten years its good customer service to assist all customers of all races equally. Far as I am concerned they could care less and whenever they get to it they do. BOA does not care about their customers far as I am concerned. They have to know that it's not okay to keep someone's money, my money that i work two jobs to survive. I'm suppose to sit over here and tap my fingers and pay late fees on the bills that are due NOW and once they refund me my money think that I will continue to bank with them NEVER. NEVER. NEVer and everyone I speak too will know not to bank with BANK OF AMERICA.
