AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK!
I went in to make a deposit this afternoon and there was a very long line of customers and only 2 tellers. Upon recommendation by Melissa, I went to one of their new machines, attempted to deposit $1052. in CASH, and was unsuccessful the 1st time. I tried to make the deposit a second time and the machine took $952. CASH and a $100. bill got stuck in the machine and I was unable to pull it out. It spit out a receipt stating, "a technical problem has been experienced. To confirm that your last request was completed properly, please visit a Chase representative or call 866-564-2262".
I immediately asked for someone to assist me and waited. No one came to offer me assistance. I spoke louder so the tellers could see and hear me and again requested assistance as the machine stole my money, they looked at me, ignored me and went about serving their customers. I waited again, no assistance. Then I whistled to get someone's attention, and the manager, GERARDO, came out and immediately told me that no one comes into his bank and yells or whistles for attention under any circumstances and asked me to leave the bank. I informed him that I had requested 3 times in a 5 minute period for attention; their machine "ate" my money and I was NOT leaving until I got my money back. Again he insisted I leave.. I asked him how am I supposed to get someone's attention when 3 times I requested assistance to no avail before he shows up. He refused to answer insisting he would not help me, that someone else would help me, had I simply just stand there quietly until someone came to assist me, regardless of how long it took me. Then a couple of folks in line informed GERARDO that I had twice requested assistance to no avail.
I informed GERARDO that his customer service at his branch was seriously lacking, there were minimal bank personnel around while his machine stole my $952. and that this is a serious problem not to be taken lightly. Finally he settled down and informed me that Melissa would assist me, however she also was busy assisting others with operating their new machines. After waiting another 10 minutes Melissa assisted me and informed me that they were crediting my account $952. but could not give me any receipt or anything in writing to this affect. She stated all she could do was send an e-mail to my wife that our account was credited $952. I insisted on something, ie claim dispute #, so finally she gave me an internal claim #.
When I went home, my wife checked our online bank to see if they actually did credit our account with $952.. Surprise, there was no credit of $952. Chase stole $952. from us after I spent well over an hour at this bank to resolve this matter, and it remains unresolved.
This bank is obviously a "rip-off", with few staff to assist you, and poor customer service, especially GERARDO, who obviously wants to keep my $952. and get me out of his bank ASAP. I have been seriously inconvenienced by this Chase Bank and should be compensated not only the $952. they stole from me, but there should be additional penalties for having to put up with such disservice.
I strongly recommend that folks seriously do NOT do business with this Chase Bank. They are deceptive, they still have my $952. and, I, at this point seem to have no recourse, but to go to the bank again, contact the BBB, Attorney General, and FDIC, which I do intend to do. They deserve 0 Stars in my estimation, but that option is unavailable.
BEWARE of this Bank, they are understaffed and crooks, since I never received $952. credit as Melissa stated. BEWARE! You have been informed!
And, Chase Owners, you need to supply more tellers, get rid of those thieving machines, and work on bettering your substandard Customer Service, and fire GERARDO CASTELLON who provided to me absolutely NO Service whatsoever. read more
