I decided to address a variety of banking tasks including notarizing a document, transferring, withdrawing and depositing as well as gathering information regarding international and domestic wires. Eric's expertise helped me tremendously in a crucial moment in time of banking transition resulting in familiar faces being reassigned to other centers or branches. More often than not human beings absorb change with a sense of trepidation but that is impossible when you encounter an individual of Eric's human and professional caliber. In his capacity as Premier Relationship Manager, Eric is a quintessential gentleman whose knowledge base is second to none. Further, his impeccable manners should be a permanent model of what sincere courteousness should embody.

I usually like HSBC for its checking, savings, and online high yield savings (HSBC-direct)…read moreservices. This is not a review about those services. It's about their safety deposit box. I DON'T recommend their safe deposit box. Warning! They do not check ID!!!!!!!!! After asking them multiple times to check ID, they still don't. So if you lose the key, you are done for. Anyone can walk up using your key and they will accompany you and open the box for you. They don't check your signature, though they require one. The pro is my friend can help me pick something up if I'm sick, but it feels very unsafe and defeats the purpose of the box. Citibank, on the other hand, is very strict and my best friend's valuables are so safe! However, their checking services are inhibitory (high minimums), so there is no win for me.

I'd rate this business-5 stars if I could…read more Citizen Bank must be the one of the worst banks ever. I did not hold 2 accounts with Citizen by choice. But I have these accounts when Citizen bought some HSBC accounts, including mine. I visited the Elmhurst NYC branch this morning to close my accounts because Citizen is charging fees. The bank teller informed me that their one and only check printing machine was broken. I was directed to go visit another branch miles away. How can a NYC bank branch be so poorly equiped??? I asked them to give me cash (it was only about $10K) and they explained that senior citizens have already taken most of the branch's cash earlier in the month when they cashed out their benefits. So a bank did not have cash??? They offered me the option to wire the money to my other bank account for a $30 fee. I asked that the fee be waived because it was not my fault. The bank manager told me the fee was built in. The experience was so horrible and sad that I had to laugh. The employees at the branch were very apologetic. I felt really sorry that they worked for such a lousy business. Now I have to waste more time going to another branch to retrieve MY money. I advise all Citizen employees to work elsewhere and account holders to close out their accounts.
