FALSE ADVERTISING/FRAUD This branch had a "December Premium" whereas you get a gold pendant if you open an account between Dec 1 and Dec 31, 2023. I opened a 7-month CD on Dec 30, the certificate states open date Dec 30 and matures July 30. Dec 30, 2023 was a Saturday, Dec 31 was a Sunday, and Jan 1 is New Years Day. The Citibank Manager refuses to give me the gold pendant claiming that "you opened the account in January". Deposits made on a Saturday or Sunday are not credited until the next business day which in this case is Jan 2, 2024. If that was the case, my CD would have read Jan 2 to Aug 2, 2024, but it does NOT. A bank account is considered open as soon as an account number is issued to you. And interest is given starting on the day the account is opened, Dec 30 and NOT Jan 2, 2024. The terms of the offer states Dec 1 to Dec 31, NOT Dec 1 to Dec 29. It is now November 2024, and after numerous complaints, the manager has opened a second "investigation", but you all know what that means. read more

I'd rate this business-5 stars if I could. Citizen Bank must be the one of the worst banks ever. I did not hold 2 accounts with Citizen by choice. But I have these accounts when Citizen bought some HSBC accounts, including mine. I visited the Elmhurst NYC branch this morning to close my accounts because Citizen is charging fees. The bank teller informed me that their one and only check printing machine was broken. I was directed to go visit another branch miles away. How can a NYC bank branch be so poorly equiped??? I asked them to give me cash (it was only about $10K) and they explained that senior citizens have already taken most of the branch's cash earlier in the month when they cashed out their benefits. So a bank did not have cash??? They offered me the option to wire the money to my other bank account for a $30 fee. I asked that the fee be waived because it was not my fault. The bank manager told me the fee was built in. The experience was so horrible and sad that I had to laugh. The employees at the branch were very apologetic. I felt really sorry that they worked for such a lousy business. Now I have to waste more time going to another branch to retrieve MY money. I advise all Citizen employees to work elsewhere and account holders to close out their accounts. read more

ive been with citibank 3.5 decades now, it saddened me reading the not so good reviews about this place. I felt sorry for those depositors who claimed about waiting for a long time in line, and for me it's same experience in any other banks.I find banking now easy, you can do a lot of transactions through your mobile phone at home, and if you need to talk with a specific representative, all you need is to make an appointment, quick and easy you're out of the bank. Thank you Yelitza in particular for the help and answered inquiries every time i showed up do some transactions. Also last year , i accidentally left my card and you stayed for me to pick it up because i'm flying the fallowing day. I appreciate it so much. Thank you again. read more

The line for day to day transactions are always really long but they go by fast because of the efficient and friendly tellers. The ladies who work at the desks are quite slow though. Especially on a Saturday when they expect many people, there are only 2 Citibank representatives working with the line of 10 people sitting down and waiting. I had to wait 45 minutes to see a representative. At least she was really sweet! read more

So I went to this Bank yesterday to deposit over 100k into a checking account. For some reason this just had the teller on her toes looking for some sort of specialist. We were then directed to Jialing Chen ,or something similar to that, she explained to us about a special promo that started the next day, if we deposited at least 50k into savings we get 1% back. I asked her the same question so many different ways about how long this promo would last and she reassured me it would be until we chose to close the account. So I chose to deposit about 55k into the checking account and save the other 60+k for that "special promo". Spoke to the same specialist today and she's says the promo has been updated and it's only good for 3 months and then it would go back to the normal rates but rates higher than the basic savings. First off who updates promos last minute? Secondly if I'm only making $100 something in three months off this stupid promo what's the point. When I told her to put the remaining money into the checking she got up and legit walked away and said the tellers can do it for me. What a way to make a customer feel valued. The reason why I knocked out four stars is because of her disgusting and dismissive attitude when she's told "No". Like she went from smiles and bubbly attitude to total "B". Total Jekyll and Hyde. I just went to Citibank and deposited my money and I asked the teller : Hispanic tall curly guy with eye glasses if I can make a withdrawal and said I can't since my money is not yet clear. But I have money on my account prior to my check deposit so I went to the atm withdraw. 1000 and went back to another teller who is Asian and was able to withdraw 350 the first teller I went to was his seat mate and I told him how come he did not allow me to encase the money he said I can't when the 2nd guy was able to allow me withdraw the 350. The Hispanic teller was rude and was arguing with me but don't even try to explain to me properly when he can help me with my withdrawal. Since I was shopping nearby I decided to stop by this branch to make a deposit at the ATM machine. Without paying attention, the first ATM that I attempted to use was a "Get Cash" machine. Okay my mistake, I quickly walked over to use a "Full Service" machine. The second machine I attempted to use gave me an error message telling me to call customer service and give them a code....okay seriously Citibank! Now highly annoyed I went to use a third and final machine to complete my transaction. Next time I will just bother a teller to complete a transaction. Fast service. There are usually plenty of tellers at the windows unlike HSBC. The ladies at the front desk are very helpful. This Citibank has a circular shape. It's been here for a long time. It's located right next to Queens Place Mall and Georgia Diner. The Grand Avenue train station (R,M) is just a block away. Tip: Do no double park on Queens Blvd to run into the bank for the ATM or any bank transaction! The meter maids here could be ruthless. read more

10-13-2018 I went on this branch, I came in they are closing the moment I got it, no problem I never insist or even ask If i could go and come in because I will be depositing quite a big amount, so I went straight to the atm on the ride side beside the door, I insert my card, pin and (20) 100$ bill, I am not the type of person to waste my time putting on a review but everyone must know that this branch has the worst or beyond worst CUSTOMER SERVICE, if u guys need to deposit go to any other location except for this so going back - before i deposit my money I count it fix it on the same faces facing left and read the screen saying "that up-to 50 bills we could insert" so I deposit the money - i know it will take some time but i felt nervous already then all of a sudden the machine said something like this but not exactly because I kind of panic that my 2000$ bill will got eaten by the machine "please insert cash" or would you like to insert cash" so the moment i read that i was like what the f**** i just inserted money so what happen now? So today, I was going to do something that's been on my mind for a long time. It was a big day for me-I was going to cut open my piggy bank of 15 years. To make sure everything goes smoothly for this huge transaction, I called Citibank. I very politely asked for their hours. I didn't wanna get there and be very disappointed if they were closed. They clearly said 6 o'clock pm. I even repeated 6pm to clarify. As I repeat, this was very important to me, I couldn't have anything go wrong. It was only 2pm, that gave me a good amount of time to start rolling up my coins. Citibank is only willing to accept rolled up coins to exchange to cash. So, I started to very neatly roll. I rolled like I've never rolled in my life. I rolled like I was a master sushi chef. At the end, my hands smelled like a rusty chain, but I didn't care!! I was going to finally get my cash today and pay off the house mortgage for my parents. I put all my coins in my bag, and started my journey to Citibank. The journey was extremely difficult as it was scorching hot and my shoulders were bleeding from the heavy coins. When I finally saw Citibank, I could feel the accomplishment. I felt greater than the day i graduated elementary school. I pulled open the Citibank door like I was born to do this task. I WENT IN AND THE BANK WAS CLOSED!!!!!!! I knocked on the window to catch the attention of the workers, but she saw me and IGNORED ME. They even opened the door to let a worker out but they slammed the door on my face. I think one of my pimple popped!! IT WAS 5:03pm AND THE BANK WAS CLOSED. I dropped everything and got down to my knees and screamed my life out.
