The organization also has a modest brokerage account that is managed by Wells Fargo Advisors in Reno. I was part of a fairly significant Board turnover, so names needed to be changed on the accounts. This turned out to be a multi-week process, involving lots of paperwork, a few visits to the branch office by me and other Board members, and having to repeat some of this process regarding the brokerage account. Any Wells Fargo representative I've talked to apologizes for the bureaucracy and silos, and continue on as making it easier is above their pay grade. At least they're professional about it, and tried to do what they could. After all this, at least the run and maintain aspects of our account have run smoothly, both in person and online. I also find my very sparing use of the organization's debit card (for bill pay) to be convenient.

The ladies there are very nice, polite, and understanding. When I had a dispute, I feel I had to go to extreme measures to get results, but I think that this might be the case with most banks and customers with my particular situation and I do not directly blame them. I do feel that they did make attempts to salvage the relationship I established with Nevada State Bank three years ago, and perhaps I may end up going back because of their attempts. Majority of my banking experiences with this particular branch were very pleasant and kind. I do recommend them and I think that my situation was extraordinary, and because of their attempts, I am definitely still a fan of the Minden branch of Nevada State Bank and I appreciate their kindness in my situation.

Awful customer service, no call backs when requested, weird fees for not using my ATM at least 9 times per month and even worse when trying to close out my bank account and loan, (wanted $5 just to send a monthly statement after they shut off online access). Also annoying that as someone of Italian descent, they went woke and cancelled a Federal Holiday, (Columbus Day), and replaced it with Indigenous Day. (Gov. Joe Lombardo issued a proclamation designating Aug. 9 as Indigenous Peoples' Day in Nevada). When I asked about it on X support they blocked me lol.

I love that if I have an issue; I'm able to send a message in my app to have most issues addressed with a guaranteed response within 24 hours from their customer service team. Most incidents I had were all answered by the end of day; I have only had to wait that long with the fraud department. GNCU is a bank that I feel values my time and I'll happily chose to keep my accounts here for years to come.

It's not like a small incremental difference in service, it's like a quantum leap. It has been so refreshing to walk in every day and get all my business done with the wonderful ladies at this "Y" branch. If there's ever a problem, for example an overdraft or a suspicious transaction or I leave my card in the ATM, I get a personal call from Sherry to discuss...no more hidden fees or unexpected gouging! The employees have always been a pleasure to deal with, and I never felt that this bank was trying to take advantage of me, or suck my money one "service charge" or "convenience fee" at a time. I absolutely detest banks that try to nickle and dime you, and these folks have never done that. On a few occasions over the years, I've had some moderate snafu's with my accounts. The customer service folks happily worked hard to straighten everything out for me. I really felt that the CSR wanted to get everything fully rectified. Instead of blaming me for the mistakes and then telling me why I was penalized (a common tactic with big banks and their CSR's) they instead got to the bottom of the problem and did their best to make it all go away.
