I just reviewed My bank statements and what a surprise I found the transaction made. I have asked a senior manager to call me. The last time I requested a call Back I never got one. When I made my last call the statement was at the end of the call we will have you complete a survey That never happened. We have been with the bank for over 40 years and unless we get a response we will move all our accounts to another bank.

I really loved this bank, but now I don't recommend it to anyone. Wintrust as it seems to me has taken tons more control. There are also 3 steps behind on the technology side. The app crashes all the time, and the entire banking process is delayed. I do not recommend this bank to anyone anymore. I'll be trying Chase or PNC in Libertyville from now on. I gave two stars because of its history I had with it and for Libertyville there are plenty of locations.

I went to this location to pay my property tax installment, with cash. They made me write my name, social security number and occupation on a blank sheet of paper. They just pulled one from a printer or a pile. I told them I never had to do this before when paying taxes but more importantly they shouldn't be asking me to write down my social security number at all, especially on a blank piece of paper. They really were just making things up. I complained and told them I was simply paying my taxes. They said this was a new requirement for them, mandated by the county (Lake County), and that this would be the case if I ever went to pay my taxes at the county building, too. That is a lie. You know how I know...cause I had just paid the previous installment in cash, at the County building, and, again, four times since then, with no questions, no problems, no made up rules. This bank is lousy. This is not the Liberty Bank and Trust of old. It's garbage. Auto rates are lousy. Mortgage rates are lousy. Counting change here is a problem. Website was 'upgraded; and ruined. Everything here is a problem. They are self-serving, lazy, incompetent tyrants working for a large corporate 'bank'.

BCU has vastly updated over the past six years. They are especially concerned with account…read moresecurity. I speak from experience. I was skimmed once, and had a scam. Both times, BCU was not merely helpful, but hand-held me through the process (shout out to Lizette!). New debit and credit cards were issued promptly, and my account was completely revamped in a matter of minutes once my identity was established and fraud located. One of the incidents had a perpetrator using my account number in the UK, very dark Internet. So yes, BCU is very up and present on security and account safety. BCU *WILL* help customers afflicted with fraud as quickly as possible, and very efficiently. BCU has changed their app for the better, as well. In six years, the app has gone from bare bones basic, to the ability to lock one's card then unlock it with ease, let BCU know travel plans, and open new sub-accounts all with a click. Still not a fan of Zelle, but that's just a service BCU offers. BCU does not actually control Zelle. Other than that, become a customer with confidence! BCU will take good care of you, and your money.
