This branch has horrible customer service. They only staff two employees at the window at any given time. There are lines outside the building often. They have no regard for their customers time. Today I took a photo of the lines to post on Yelp and other Social media. The pregnant bank employee harassed me and said "photos were not allowed" I told her there is no law stating aI can't take a photo in the bank. They are 1 of the worst banks around. They refused to cash my checks, I've been trying to cash for 1 month. They told me they could, but each time I went, they refused. 1 of the bank tellers stamped back of check. I asked for what reason. She said she had to. Now I can't cash it anywhere, because it looks like it's already been cashed. Now, the company the check is from has to reissue a new check and I have to wait 10 days for it.This has been a HUGE Inconvenience and they don't care. Within Platt Center on the corner of Platt and Victory in West Hills. They have convenient drive thru which a rare things these days. If you opt to go into the branch, there is a nice gentleman who greets and directs to which window to go to, and get this he also took immediate action to open another window when he saw the line of people to be more than 3. I walked into this location to get some simple help with a password, one man walked up to me and said how can I help you? then before I could say a word he turned around signed for a FedEx shipment and left to immediately distribute that mail. He ended up just sitting it on an empty desk. Then their shipment of bottled water came in right after so he tended to the vendor. He proceeded to walk around as if it was such important business then cane back up to me and said "do you have an appointment, because my appointment is here now". I prefer this Chase banks over most . The bankers here seem to be more on the speedier side of things and they get things done quick. I love the new ATM machines they added so you don't always have to use the teller or banker . The location is also perfect as it is in the shopping center on platt and victory. The reason for the drop in stars is two reasons. 1 being there should be an extra ATM machine outside to walk up to and not just one even tho there's a drive thru with two but it's always busy. I am an existing client of JP Morgan Chase have business and personal banking. I went to platt village branch yesterday with my 16 year old son to transfer from one account to another. My son had his drives license picture via his cell phone. I ask teller to see if Manager can make exceptions for the transfer since he forgot the actual card with him. A lady by the name of Kay came and without asking further questions. She said. "Sorry ma'am its our policy for transfer to have id" I find it really non sense for today's environmental for people to not just make extra time and effort to see if there is other alternative form of verification. Please train your branch to not use of "Policy words" its been thought in banking to use other words vs Policy. Dont forget most of the teller at the branch knows me so is (Sadaf) the assistant manager. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I went to the branch to deposit $250 cash, and $250 check and get a $500 money order. This was all to be done as I stood at the teller window. Fast-forward one week later and my check has not been deposited into my account. The bank says there is no evidence of me depositing a check at all! My $250 cash and my $500 money order are apparent, but now I am missing $250! The bank has no evidence of me depositing a check at all - and claim they will only look at camera footage with a subpoena. I have been putting up with Chase's underhandedness and charges for many years because I've been to lazy to switch some of my auto payments. In any case I had to make a cash deposit today and the mistake of asking the teller a question. Instead of just providing me the answer she kept telling me that I can check that stuff on my mobile App. I am not sure if she meant it, but it came off as being really condescending. Ultimately, I had to politely ask her what the point of her working there was. Which of course, if it were up to chase it will all be machines, which may not necessarily be a bad thing if the alternative were unhelpful and condescending tellers! It was impossible to accomplish a task at this branch today even though I had an appointment. Even though I came in person the previous week, asked an employee how to go about accomplishing what I needed to take care of, and did exactly what they told me to do. Today I worked with a woman who repeatedly called me by the wrong name and seemed to relish in being completely unhelpful. Even though I had my three kids there, in masks, during the Coronavirus pandemic. Never again. I visited this branch on January 22, 2018 late in the afternoon when they were quite busy. I had to wait 15-20 minutes to meet with a banker, but it was well worth the wait! I believe the name of the gentleman who helped me was D'Veon (sp?). Although they were quite busy and other people were waiting to be helped, D'Veon was courteous, professional and extremely helpful. I have Power of Attorney for my mother-in-law and needed to access her accounts to pay her monthly bills as well as her extended care expenses. D'Veon knew exactly what to do and was very efficient. I had complete confidence in his abilities. He was also very personable making a difficult situation less stressful. I want to give credit where credit is due because I had a completely opposite experience at the US Bank located at 17020 Redmond Way, Redmond, WA 98052. I was treated rudely by the teller who without even looking at my Power of Attorney said she needed to "warn" me (her term, not mine) that they would need to know why I have Power of Attorney and why my mother-in-law was not able to come into the branch. She acted as if I was a criminal and talked down to me as I proceeded to pay them a large sum of money on my mother-in-law's credit card. I was so angry when I left that I wished I had not paid US Bank anything, leaving them in a position where they would have to spend time and money locating my mother-in-law to collect the money owed! And at her age and health, a good credit score is of no concern or consequence! When I got home I called to speak to the branch manager. I was told her name was Sara and she was with a customer. I left my name, phone number and told them I was calling regarding "an unpleasant customer service experience I had just had at their bank." I was told Sara would call me back. That was 10 days ago. NO CALL, NO VOICEMAIL, NOTHING! I'm sure if I was to call Sara today she would probably say she never received the message. Well Sara, if that is true you have an even bigger problem since I alerted someone in your branch that I was already unhappy! Those messages should have a high priority before things escalate! One of the worst experiences that I ever had in a bank. This review is more about the person working in this branch and not against Chase bank in general. We went there to open a locker account and we called a day in advance to make sure that the locker is available in the size we are looking for. And the person who picked the phone at the branch mentioned that they have multiple lockers available in the size we were looking for. So we went there the next day to open the locker. We were received by a bank employee(forgot her name) and the first thing she says is "These lockers are not free and they cost you money" in a rude tone. I mentioned to her that we already had lockers in the past and we do know that they cost money. And we told her what size we are looking for and we even told her we know how much it costs. And then she goes again with the same tone "Who told you that they are available? Are you citizens of this country?". We are customers of this bank for several years. And we had bank accounts across other banks for like 20+ years. And we never saw any bank employee to be speaking in such a rude tone with their customers. Me and my wife immediately decided to not to open a locker account at this branch. She even said that there was customer who was pissed earlier on her because she is doing her job. Wait you are not doing your job. PLEASE TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT AND HAVE A FRIENDLY APPROACH TOWARDS THEM. I'm upset that I have to leave a star!! Went in the other day to get some print outs of my purchases the last few months. I lost my drivers license, but I had my expired ID of one month. Explained to the lady that was helping me about how I lost my drivers license in the river the other day. But still had an expired id and my debit card. She asked me the normal questions to see if I am the owner of the account. Which is protocol even though I had an ID and other cards. She then accepted and started pulling up my file. She said she'd be right back. Got up, Grabbed my debit card and went into the other room. She came back with all the papers i requested. She asked if I needed anything els. I said no, thank you for your time and help, just need my debit card and I'll be on my way. She said she shredded it!!! I asked WHY WOULD YOU DO SUCH A THING WITHOUT ASKING THE PERSON YOUVE BEEN HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH FOR 15 min. She then said it was terminated... I asked HOW CAN IT BE TERMINATED WHEN IT EXPIRES IN TWO YEARS!!! I asked your going to print me a new one right? Like right now? She said no. Unless I had a valid ID. I said AFTER WE JUST HAD A HUGE CONVERSATION ABOUT ME DROPPING MY LICENSE IN A LAKE! She purposely canceled my account. God forbid if I had a child to take care of. They just prevented me from buying food for my child. If I had to get gas to get to work they just prevented that from happening. Needles to say I had to walk out enraged!!!!! Called the branch asking for the branch manager. I got nothing but ringing no answer machine. That went on for about 45min then I decided to call the headquarters. They were SHOCKED at what THIS branch did to me. They rushed me a card in a single day. Now! I'll keep up with my promise and pull all my money from this pathetic bank! This bank definitely bends over backward to get new Clients. They are popping up like mushroom at every corner. The only reason I am rating them a 4 star instead of 5 is that although they have Chase banks in some location every 2 blocks, you cannot find them in a lot of not-so-expensive areas. Maybe it is for security reasons, or maybe ... (you fill in the blanks). I am just anxiously waiting to see if Chase Bank to have a sale, like the retail stores ... like selling $20 bills for $15. The "branch manager" Natalie was obstinate, rude & dismissive. Chase no longer accepts cash deposits into another person's account. I was being paid by a friend and therefore, they deposited a check. I went in to have the check cleared with more than enough available in my account and was told that my check could not be cleared until the next day. I showed them the banking history between that amount and mine, my longtime history of banking with chase and having a respectable balance, never over drafting & she cut me off repeatedly feeling it more important to get home than to treat me like a human being. I have depositing my business checks for years at this or other locations with no problems. Today I tried to do the same thing but the teller who I have never seen here (probably a new guy) after endorsing my checks in the machine all of the sudden told me that he can't deposit these 6 checks because on some of them are payable to my restaurant's business name and some is payable to my business name and it has word "restaurant" at the end. I told him that for years I have been depositing checks like these from the same companies but never had a problem with that word "restaurant " so he called the manager. She told me the same thing and after asking her how come no teller told me that for years her answer was quote: "most of our tellers don't pay attention to this detail". So she just called 100s of chase bank tellers incompetent doing their job and the only teller and a manager who is competent is this new guy and herself. I'm writing this review for her superiors to know what kind of answer she gave me as a customer putting the professionalism of their employees down. read more
