No matter what, I always feel uplifted and way more important than I deserve, when visiting their location in Columbia. I will give this place like "half a star" because I want to believe that the practitioners care about the patients and meeting their needs, they're just heavily constricted by the rules of the practice. Getting set up in their behavioral health therapeutic or psychiatric department has been a tumultuous waste of time. I wait weeks just to be told "we don't do that" "we can't do that" or just the opposite of what the last provider told me. My requests for more regular or intensive mental health care go ignored despite my in-person visits and calls to the office and I'm lucky if I get a regular weekly session. You'll sit on hold for 30 mins and you'll never get a follow up call back. I regret the time I've invested into this practice and am seriously considering if I should leave CB healthcare entirely. Original review was in December 2025: Has to be the worst practice I've ever been to. Appointments over phone will take 20-45 minute hold times. If you want to schedule for a quick visit, you can only schedule with your designated doc through the portal. Anybody else, call and hear endless music or drop in only and wait however long it takes! You can message through the portal and they might take days or never respond back. You can call and have the callback option and even then they may or may not care. I'm at an appointment for which I was given 120 pm appt reminder card, arrived 5 mins early and was told it was scheduled for 4 pm! Been 35 mins and checked with front office and was told that I "may" be called earlier! (saw provider after 80 mins)! Such callousness and lacadaisical attitude. Update 05282026: After getting numerous texts to get appointment fixed, I came for a physical last month. Waited for over 20 mins in exam room to meet Doc. Today I clicked on text to check in online and answered whole bunch of questions and got msg that said to wait in exam area. I was checked in at 303 PM for a 3 pm appt. I waited for 10 mins and went to front desk to see if I'm checked in and they said no. And paged the Doc asst. Waited for another 5+ minutes and the nurse came said Doc csnt see me as I'm late. I was livid and I was asked why I checked online and if I did it last time too. I said I don't recall but to say I was late while I was sitting right there the whole time is just crazy and deflection of their broken system. I walked out when I was told I had to reschedule! If you have better insurance avoid this place. I do and don't know why I came back after very shabby experience last 15 months with them! One star ONLY for the nice lady who tried to help me when I called. I called because we have state insurance and this was one of the only places who would even see us for mental health services. She took alot of information over the phone and confirmed we were eligible for services. My son was having terrible depression and anxiety at the time and needed care. We were told it would be 8 weeks for an appointment and that someone would call us to set up the appointment after the over the phone conversation. No one ever called. My son ended up in the hospital waiting for care. I would NEVER recommend this place if you are in need of help. They dont even take mental health care seriously to even call people back. As much as people are suffering we couldnt even get a phone call. Luckily we were able to get him treated but it cost a pretty penny, sad that this place catered towards people with lower incomes treats people who are already struggling so poorly. Wouldnt recommend to anyone, they do not care about you I promise. read more

Wish I would've read the reviews and not wasted my time, money and gas going here. Ppl and kids that are sick, coughing, dirty all in one room. Not enough chairs. It's also a doctors office and some kind of social service place. There was so much going on and none of it was good. I ended up walking out and couldn't wait to get home and get all the funk off of me. The receptionist and other workers were as mean and rude as can be. I've been going here for my dental care, and I think it's time for me to move on. They never answer the phone for that department. I've called every day multiple times a day and tried for an hour each time. No one ever picks up. I'm currently stuck with painful cavities and no way of scheduling. Unless I drive there, which I shouldn't have to do. There's no other way to get in contact. I tried different locations and it's the same exact thing. No answer. You will never have contact with anyone via phone, email, or the portal. Your prescriptions take a month to be refilled. Appointments will be scheduled and when you get there it either doesnt exist or they booked it for a location hours away. I've been out of my daily medication for almost a week. I, and Walgreens, have tried contacting Chase Brexton several times to authorize a refill to no avail. I tried calling at 6:24 pm on a Monday, and received the automated out-of-office message, even though their office is open until 8 pm. Today, I was on hold for 18 minutes, only jumping up one position in queue during this time. Still no refill. The doctor I had seen there was very helpful and caring, however, the hoops to jump through to refill a serious medication are unacceptable. It's near impossible to get ahold of anyone at the office. My first time here. Have an appointment at 4pm and office calls me at 12:26pm asking me to come earlier at 3pm. So I show up at 3pm (had to rush in rain with daughter on crutches to get there) and front desk says 'you have an appointment at 4' I explain to her that someone called earlier and asked me to come early. She says we may be able to be seen earlier and they probably called because they're moving quicker with patients. I ask if I have to wait till 4, and she repeats, 'well, you have an appointment at 4, and I'm not working the back so I don't know how fast they're moving' 'I'm not the one who called you so I don't know' I felt like I'm talking to the wall. The front desk is just horrible. I called the number that called me at 12:26pm about moving my appointment earlier - it was Chase Brexton and they put me on hold forever to find out what's going on. The office is very disconnected and need to run better. Horrible service at front desk. read more

First time visit was great with physician but front desk annoyed when I needed to ask a question, lab tech was annoyed and overwhelmed and upset the numbers were being passed out by the front desk out of order and she made sure everyone knew including customers that she was annoyed, and the pharmacy receptionist receiving my prescription was also annoyed. On top of it their phone system is unbelievably bad. Cant get through to a human no matter what and the audio quality drops in and out so its hard to understand. EXTREMELY POOR . This clinic has been a lifesaver for me. They work "with" the patients and always make me feel valuable. Everyone, on staff, just seems to really like working there! It's noticeably uplifting and a healthy atmosphere to be in. I experienced excellent care in their regular doctors office and the Dentist I just saw is really exceptional. I had previously gone to the location in Glen Burnie but I needed a follow up appointment for my painful rotator cuff injury and that location could not see me until March. So I thought I'd give Columbia a try. WORSE mistake. This is by far the worse doctors office I have been to. Keep in mind I made my appointment a month in advance: I still had to wait 30 mins in the waiting room. Then once they called me back I was sitting in the exam room alone just waiting for the doctor for almost another hour. I had to tell the MA in the hallway that if she didn't get the doctor in the next 5 mins that I was leaving. Magically the doctor appeared. The doctor was great and I think it is more the management/admin at this office that is lacking, not the doctors. I was told I needed a referral for my should so I head out to thee referral desk that earlier had 2 referral coordinators - now no one was there and this is 1:30pm. No sign saying out to lunch or anything. So I went to the receptionist and said I needed a referral and she told me that both of the referral coordinators were on lunch and that "maybe" the referral would be mailed to me or I could wait another unspecified amount of time. It does not make sense to me why you would have two referral coordinators but send them out to lunch at the same time. So here it is 2 days later and I still have no follow up about my referral. Can never get a hold of thee front desk on the phone. This place needs either a complete replacement of their admin staff or they need to complete additional training in time managemen read more

This facility has providers who will discriminate against you if your beliefs differ from theirs. They will literally tell you "they cannot help you", because "you are wrong". How is this appropriate or professional? When I challenged them on the ethics of such "practices", I was then told if I were in front of them, they would see me (like that was reassuring); Who would feel comfortable after that. I am happy this occurred before I went there, It gave me the impetus needed to find another more accepting health care provider. "First Do No Harm" does NOT apply here. My daughter needed birth control pills for her skin. Previous doctors had been giving refills without needing to see them again. We moved here and found Chase because they had the earliest appointment. Reviews were bad but thought we give them a shot. That was a bad decision. They will not give refills unless we see the doctor again. I don't understand why. It's just birth control pills to control the breakouts on her face. The staff couldn't explain why either and said she was reading off a note on the computer. Business must be bad!! Not going back! read more

I am disabled by a chronic medical condition and truly need competent, caring medical attention on a regular basis. Yet I have had quite a few horrible experiences in this poor people's clinic - although they have jacked up their bills over the years to reflect other, more competent practices, so they have in fact become unaffordable for this low-income person. The staff, the doctors, the pharmacy - bottom of the barrel indeed. Not worth the ridiculous fees they charge. There's a color issue here too. There is so much frustration with the incompetence of the staff and doctors that they have had to install a full-time security guard! That tells you everything. read more

I had Dr. Mathew and I only got to see her once. I set the pcp up online and when I called they said I did not finish setting up my account, so I could not make an appointment for 3 months. I had the flu, but ok. Finally saw the doctor 3 months later and she was very nice but the nurses were nasty. I had a seizure last year and I asked if I could make an appointment to see Dr. Mathew and again they said it would be 3 months. I asked them if I could get any appointments closer or could they notify me if someone cancels. The nurse had an attitude and asked why did I want to see the doctor so badly. I informed her that I just had a grand mal seizure and was on new medication and would like my pcps advice. I was so over the experience I ever went back. read more

I give them a one star, not so much for the service (it was ok) but for something that raises my blood pressure each and every time I call them: that incredibly maddening voice message that's looped when you're placed on hold, waiting in que to be answered. I've never experienced anything like it before. Normally, I'm really really patient about being on hold and will set the phone down on speaker and just go onto something else while waiting to be picked up. Not with that voice rambling on. Even lowering the volume forces me to listen harder for the moment someone picks up, but it never comes. Don't trust me? Dial it up and see for yourself. I can't even wait on hold. It sounds like my second grade teacher with a lisp. I feel like Larry David doing a rant but I can't help it. Being that this is the gateway to getting to healthcare from this provider, I'm now looking for another provider. If you're reading this, Chase Brexton, here's a nugget of advice: switch to music while on hold! That repetitive message with that 'nails on the chalkboard' voice is sending this patient away to another practitioner! read more

Dr. Connor is my primary care physician & Dr. Burt is who I see when I need a sick appointment they are both AMAZING. But unfortunately, after being a patient here for several years must come to an end. The front desk staff is HORRIBLE absolutely no communication skills, you call they tell you no appointments available..you send an email through portal to your Dr & immediately someone calls you to set up an appointment. The issue with that is I shouldn't have to bother my Dr with these issues when the front desk staff should be able to do their job accurately. To top it off it snowed today I had an appointment, some places are opened some are closed. Chase Brexton never communicated they were closed through email, text or call. My mother & I both called the office for over two hours to see whether they were opened or not..NO ONE EVER ANSWERED. Now if they are closed why didn't they notify the patients who had appointments it's absolutely unprofessional. read more

-Called to schedule my first appointment explaining i'm transferring from whitman walker because my insurance changed to something they don't accept :-(. I showed up, they said I scheduled with the wrong person.... no YOU scheduled me with the wrong person. I had to come back to see some special person on Thursday. the fact this place that had one person that can treat for this "diagnosis" is truly troubling. It's like going to a gyno's clinic but only 1 doctor of 20 knows how a vagina works. -Had my appointment with the special person, went well. Had to wait an hour for her to write the RX because she started treating someone else. So they had to catch her in between patients. Excuse me she wasn't done with me, why didn't she write the order right after stepping out of the treatment rom. Then when the Rx came to me it was incorrect, so I had to return it and ask them to re-write it. Again had to catch her in between patients, cus that would be rude to the patient in the treatment room. I guess they don't care about being rude to the patient in the lobby that wasn't done with their care for the day. - For some reason there was a security guard there and accompanied one of the employees out of the office when she left for the day. It was really off putting. Why does the staff have enough anger towards them to warrant security... That's something you would see at like a pain management clinic. -After 2 full weeks and my constantly calling to ask about my lab results they were still claiming they don't have them. I had to go through Labcorp myself and deal with that nonsense in order to get them. Nobody at chase brexton returned any of my calls. Bottom line. Nobody there cares about the patients. Just get in get out. if you have a problem or aren't done being treated? tough, get out. They aren't the only game in town for this "condition" so I canceled my last appointment and went elsewhere. (your speculations on my "diagnosis and condition" is correct. MAAB GID) Whitman Walker is leaps and bounds better. read more

If I could give 0 stars and still write a review I would. I don't know where to begin. My partner has visited this location a few times and her doctor was ok so we decided to bring our son here. We get here 15 minutes ahead of the appointment time to fill out all the paperwork we were not seen until over an hour after his appointment time (what's the point of the appointment). I made an excuse for them and said maybe it's because it's a first appointment. I really liked the doctor so decided I'll give it a try because maybe they had a bad day and couldn't get together as these things sometimes happen. So I come for a 9:20 am appointment since the text at received said that was the time, once again I am not seen until an hour after that time and then the appointment is rushed. They tell me come back to get my labs as part of my physical they said "we open at 8am" here we are today I got here 7:55am to get a head start because like everyone else I have shit to do with the rest of my day. It is now 8:29 and the office is still not open. I say all this to say if you have insurance that covers other offices go there because this place does not value you or your time. read more

Constant revolving door of doctors, with no continuity of care. In the past few years I have had 5 different PCMs, all of them have gone to work elsewhere. They cannot keep their mental health providers, either. They have gone through 4 different Psychiatrists in the last two years, and their therapists keep leaving as well. I don't know what is going on behind the scenes of this practice, but the doctors keep leaving so it seems to be a serious corporate issue. I have never met a more incompetent and unprofessional medical staff. Shemika Asom on 3 occasions wrote INCORRECT prescriptions for me. Instead of handling the situation like a professional and taking ownership of HER ERROR, she refused to verbally remedy the issue when the pharmacist called. The office staff said that they faxed it to the pharmacy and the pharmacist "must have lost it", which is not possible since it is illegal to fax prescriptions for controlled substances. In addition, they then required me to come back into the office (to pay another copay and waste MY time for HER ineptitude) to 'check in' and a corrected copy of the prescription. I re-stated on multiple occasions in my multiple conversations with multiple members of the Chase Brexton staff that if she had written it correctly in the first place, I would not even have to be making this request. I will be finding a new primary care physician and encourage you to not waste your time with the low quality of care offered at this facility. read more
