When this place first opened they were so good! But now, with all the expanding, it feels like quality is going down fast. Husband went in the other day for a mobile order and had to wait 30 minutes passed when it showed done and guests inside were ordering and getting items while he was there. Today, I got the breakfast bagel, which I've had multiple times and they put something different on there without any warning and flavor is not great, and my drink was to have cold foam which was non existent (I just had a cold foam drink made well the other day from them so I know what it's supposed to look like). I so want to like this place, because its location on Waverly is near my house and so convenient when I'm about to jump on the highway right there! I also really believe in supporting small businesses, local economy and diversity. However, I keep going back after being disappointed, and it doesn't get any better. The latest issue is that I had a $5 birthday coupon (which is only mediocre considering my average drink costs over $8, but OK, I know it's not Biggby). I got there the day after my birthday, which also happens to be smack in the middle of the holidays (between Xmas, Kwaanzaa and New Years Day) and was told it was NO GOOD. Unlike literally every other birthday offer that I get from this rewards program that restaurants use, it is not good for the month of your birthday, or even the week of your birthday, or even the day before and day after your birthday, but for ONE DAY only. On top of them not having one single vegan food item and also not allowing folx to post community announcements, this was the last straw for me. I will not return. read more

Cute place for coffee. Great setting to read/get some work done. Plenty of plugs at the tables. Staff was friendly, busy but not overwhelming. They even have extra seating that they can open up. Iced coffee flight was ok- you really have to mix it up to get flavor because syrup was at the bottom and also they tasted a bit watered down. But the birthday cake latte was great. What a cute, cozy little spot to get away from the busyness of it all! We have been trying to try new coffee places-- specially small businesses. This coffee flight was such a fun experience. We were able to try 4 different types with such cute little cups (5oz each). The amber morning and the cozy cabin were our favorites! Seating is a little hard to come by, but it would make a great study spot away from EL while enjoying a reasonably priced cup of coffee. The baristas were all incredibly friendly! read more

I've been here twice now and had a nice experience both times. The flight is fun and easy to drink. The hard part is figuring out where to start. The medium coffee is a huge cup! And so fill of tasty coffee love. No problem with the staff either. They're quite helpful and patient and don't act like it's a chore to be there. The rain for the 4 star is because I've experienced better coffee, however I think Chàteau is top notch for the area. read more

I really wanted to like this coffee shop but I just can't. The coffee is decent with nothing really jumping out flavor wise. Staff is nice but not really engaging. They just kinda pop out from the back, take your order, make it, and disappear again. I've gotten my coffee to go twice now and should have taken the paper towels next on the counter as a sign. I always have to wipe down my cup and somehow it still leaks in my cup holders, down my shirt, and onto my pants unless kept perfectly straight up with you bringing your face to the cup. I can't judge the food because I strictly only go for coffee. The ambiance seems nice and people appear to enjoy meeting up there, reading, and doing work. Overall it's decent coffee, but pricier than most for what it is, with an investment needed into better quality to go cups. read more

My toddler and I went in on Veterans Day with 2 friends and we were greeted with poor attitudes. We have never been there and it seemed to be an inconvenience to them that we were asking questions about the products and items they were serving. The cashier was no kind at all they all seemed like they hated being there and had no energy like a coffee shop would provide. Mind you we each spent $40 on a flight and a sandwich which is already expensive for the quality. I will most likely never return the location also isn't the greatest and not much setting space. Pretty cheap prices, lovely staff that were willing to give personalized recommendations, great study spaces with plugins. The chai was huge and incredible and the muffin was amazing. They were out of the pumpkin spice cream cheese muffin but I'll definitely be back! Update: went back for the pumpkin spice cream cheese muffin and it was in fact incredible. Also I finally stopped to read the wall and this place was founded by an MSU grad! They have a really cute Polaroid wall of photos of customers and I just love the overall vibe. I've driven past this coffee shop so many times and one day I decided to try it and it was so worth it!! The service was amazing, the young ladies working there were personable and funny! The inside of the coffee shop was very aesthetically pleasing and I loved the decorations throughout the restaurant. I had some work to finish so I only ordered a drink. I got the strawberry lemonade refresher and it was so sweet. Delicious!! I would 10/10 recommend this place for a chill work day or for a small group hang out. Definitely check it out! read more

From the live plants cleansing the air to the creative menu and cozy seating, I really loved the vibe here! I ordered a cold brew today it was a little light, but I liked that they didn't add ice to it since it was already cold. My significant other had a regular drip and it was nice. I also grabbed a couple canned lattes to go for the weekend. We also shared a piece of pistachio baklava and probably should have gotten two! Chateau is a MUCH needed local coffee shop in Lansing. With the whole town being saturated with Biggby & Starbucks, it's refreshing to find and support local coffee shops. Highly recommend coming in for an iced cinnamon roll latte! Owners did a wonderful job with the atmosphere and vibe, as well as bringing new exciting experiences to coffee lovers like the rotating flight flavor options. The vibe of the shop is very clean and chic, the building used to be a Biggby coffee shop and I'm glad to see them making it their own, I was surprised to see they sell baklava, and delicious baklava at that! Usually get tea when I come here, but today I was craving coffee. I can't have dairy or a ton of caffeine so I ordered a small decaf latte with oat milk, iced. After a longer than usual wait, my drink was presented to me hot. I told the worker I ordered iced, where he proceeded to pour the hot coffee over a couple ice cups. When presented to me again the coffee was obviously still hot and now watered down. I requested a cup of ice with this, and when I got it the ice had little black and brown flakes from being from the bottom of the ice holder that's probably rarely cleaned. I had a brewed coffee and Turkey Pesto sandwich, and took home a piece of the coconut cake and the pistachio cake "taste test" as potential choices to purchase for our Thanksgiving Dinner. The Turkey Pesto sandwich was good, but at $9.95 I think it is overpriced, especially as it doesn't come with a small side. The coconut cake and pistachio cake had a good crumb, but that's the best I can say. There was no taste to the pistachio cake, and the little flavor of the coconut cake was from the coconut on the top. Bottom line: This place is fairly close to where I live, and I might go there again and try one of their special coffees and a piece of Baklava or maybe a croissant or bagel. read more

Amazing coffee and the barista staff were super friendly! I called them on the 4th of July to check their holiday hours, and they were going to close soon but i could probably get there on time. On my way, they called back saying they decided to stay open even longer, and for me not to rush! I really appreciated that they would stay open longer for more customers, and especially the courtesy of calling me to assure me they would stay open long enough for me to get there! Then they made one of the BEST salted caramel iced lattes i've ever had! I can't wait to go back, and take my wife -- who can't have caffeine -- to try out their entire menu of non-caffeinated drinks! read more
