They had a small selection from $6.30 to $22.80. I may be all about organic and natural, but I'm no fool - you can keep that $22.80 all to ya self! The staff is well versed in the products they stock, which meant the cashier was helpful when I asked her to recommend a product. Turns out she was familiar with Toms of Main. I wanted something comparable, so she helped me make an informed decision. I was also pleased to see they carry Dr. Bronners soap. If you don't know about Dr. B's magic soap, get some and have your world rocked! Aside from toiletries, they also stock locally grown produce and dairy. Dry goods such as lentils, rice, pasta, teas and coffee are also readily available. Overall a friendly store. Most of the natural or local organic items you may be seeking can be found here.

It's such a cool store, they have sooooo many brands of water, I didn't even know there were so many. They have brands from all over the world but I really love that the water made right here in little old NZ hold a strong place in terms of quality and taste. Something I really love about this store is that they provide a selection of low sodium waters, sodium is something I always try to cut down on because we get so much of it in our food. Sparkling water tends to have quite a bit of sodium in it which I hate because I love it so when I saw that Aquadeli provides low sodium options I was absolutely thrilled. I have been looking for a brand of water called Voss water and haven't been able to find it anywhere so I rang Aquadeli and they helpful guy there explained that they have tried to bring it in themselves but weren't able to so no where else in NZ would stock it either. While this was disappointing it was also really useful because now I don't have to waste my time searching for it. If you are after any type of water you have to come here, they are extremely knowledgable and are keen to help.

Conveniently located near a supermarket, post office, florist... it's a very handy place to stop in and pick up your naturally derived products. There's also a fruit and vege store owned by - I believe - the same people, just around the corner so you can also pick up your produce and free range eggs all in the same trip. Popped in to try this new Salad bar in the fashionable food district of Fort street (seriously so…read moremany great places just opened (Beruit Lucky, Buddha, IMA deli SALs pizza) was not overly impressed with the salad I chose (Prawn and Avocado $12) seams to be 95% spinach leaves and very little contrasting flavours, but that may be a positive if you are looking for something super healthy. The Prawns seamed undercooked and while they are served cold, I assume they are to a healthy standard, but I don't know if I would want to eat them later in the day once the have been hanging out in the open fridges. I was super excited about a new lunch time offering that was healthy, yum and within walking distance of the office, but the Good Life just didn't live up to expectations.

Organic stores in Auckland have a rich interlinked history I recently discovered, including that this store is also owned by the guys in Grey Lynn, Harvest Whole foods. I admit that I am not around this area enough to call it my local, but I know several people that do. It has a great reputation and for good reason (even if not the 'cheapest' of organic stores). One of the particular draw cards about Huckleberries is that they sell meat, (as opposed to Harvest). This is great for those of us that are still carnivores but like to know about the sources of our animal consumption. And I can buy pork free snags here - yay! Recently I have been on the hunt for some ethical-eco black eyeliner, I noticed on their website that they stock some, which is great as I was almost ready to give up hope for anything local. The black pencil variety cost $31.00, and I will be making a trip there very soon for that indeed! All the ingredients that were on the blackboard were in it , as in I could taste the parsley , kale , banana and pear . I walked in hungry and came out stuffed with free samples. My absolute favourite was the gluten free dumplings. Man, oh, man they were so good. There was also bread, pasta, pastries, celebrity chefs and gluten free lollies. And the best thing is that everything is really cheap and they do lots of deals where you can buy in bulk. This is really great considering how much gluten free products can cost. They also had seminars on allergies and it was so awesome to hear the latest research from the top specialists in the country. If you're gluten free or have any allergies at all I'd be there this year. It's so nice to have somewhere you can feel right at home.
