What I like about ordering, is that you can choose your sweetness level. I chose 80% sweetness. You can choose up to 120%. I also ordered Pork and Shrimp Egg Rolls. My drink was ready first so I sat a little bit and waited for my egg rolls. The staff was very helpful. I asked for some sauce for my egg rolls and one of the staff went next door to get a little cup for the sauce. The tea was really good. I have some oolong tea at my house that I like. Their tea was sweetened to perfection. The 80% was very accurate to my tastes. The order of egg rolls were 2 very warm and crispy egg rolls. They seemed to be very well made. The quality of the Sugar Rush donuts, at least from what I remember from its founding, is certainly not the same. I remember that each donut or roll seemed fresh and freshly cooked. Each donut along with its glaze, topping or filling,seemed made of natural and fresh ingredients. The batch we had today seemed no better than what one might purchase at a Walmart or Publix. I can only guess that Sugar Rush must have been bought by someone not as concerned with freshness or natural ingredients. I guess it had to be the long title. So many food choices in one name. Whatever it was the next time I had a chance I would order takeout from there. So last night I did exactly that. Not having poke before I didn't know what to get. I quickly studied the online menu and decide to create my own poke bowl. I did the 2 protein option and went with fried chicken and shrimp. I added a variety of vegetables which included red cabbage, red onion, corn, edamame, cucumber, and sushi rice. To top it off I got an order of fried gyoza. They look exactly like potstickers. Spoiler alert. They are potstickers. I had to look it up. After I called my order in it didn't take long to get a notification that my food was ready. I went to pick up my food. There weren't many people in the restaurant when I got there around 7. I had no indication whether Poke Bowl was a popular spot or not but I hoped I was pleased with the meal. The car ride home usually gives me some sense of what I might experience when eating my food. Of course, I'm talking about the aroma of a freshly prepared meal. But as I learned a little before I wrote this, that wasn't going to happen here. Poke is a meal usually presented cold and uses raw meat for the majority of the dishes like sushi. Anyway, let's get to the meal. The gyoza and poke bowl delicious. As I looked at my bowl I could see the fried chicken but not the shrimp. I also didn't see the poke spices or eel sauce that ordered with my meal. Did they forget those details? No, they did not. The shrimp, spices, and eel sauce were under the top layer of the bowl mixed in with the sushi rice. I have to say the bowl was delicious but it was even more delicious when my food was mixed all together. When the rice, meat, sauce, and vegetables met the taste was at a peak. As for the the fried gyoza it was delicious as well. These potstickers are by the best I've tried. And the sauce was excellent as well. I give Poke Bowl Sushi Burrito & Boba 5 stars. I had no real expectation of what the food would taste like. It made me want to go back to try another meal. That's what a great restaurant is supposed to do.
