Happy Birthday YH! I'm a first time customer and I wasn't disappointed (and it wasn't the free cake pops you generously handed out;). OK - frankly this has been sitting in drafts and this specific visit escapes me. However, this I had jotted down when it was fresh in my head: Super friendly staff and unique drinks. We were passing by the city and I actually do love how everyone (the 2-3 staff that we interacted with) asks where and how long we are visiting - I assume it's obvious we are tourists since we are Asian people in a AL license plate car with Texan plate rim. But never mind that honestly, I appreciate the fact they took time to engage us beyond a typical How are you greeting - especially knowing that even as a non-local I can tel it's quite the popular location on a weekday mid-morning. First time here today and initial impressions: Cute presentation of the drinks. I ordered a King Cake Frappe and it had purple and green sprinkles on top. Very cute touch! A little high for a small drink (after $1 tip, $7+ for a single drink.) Although, that isn't enough to deter me from coming back. I think I need to try a few different things before I can concretely say how I feel, so stay tuned for an update. I am not typically a frozen coffee girl but was sucked in by how cute the pictures were in the reviews! I am willing to bet I would prefer a hot drink and will try one next time. Another plus was the excellent customer service. The lady taking my order told me they have a rewards program. Today I earned 1 star and after 12 stars, you get a free drink. While back in MOB City my little sister decided to be an enabler and feed my caffeine addiction. So, she introduced me to Yellowhammer Coffee. I'm familiar with the coffee because I have @instagram. Thus I'm aware of its popularity and the fanatical devotion of the folks around the Bay Area. Much like your cousins who never celebrated Christmas but did when they lived with you because their mama had to "go away for awhile"......I see what all the hype is about! The coffee is DAMN GOOD! We went to the store front on Dauphin Street and my sister led the way. I ordered what she ordered with cream instead of non dairy. Not sure if I stated this previously but the coffee is DAMN GOOD!! Smooth, Complex and Well Balanced. I went back on Christmas Eve expecting to enjoy another cup of that oh so delicious coffee but the gentleman who came to the door said they closed early.....I twitched a little as I walked away. You'd be happy to know my withdrawal symptoms were minimal. I need to order some Yellowhammer Coffee so I can brew my own. That will get me through until I can return to the promised-land. Tried their coffe just plain americano and it was fresh and delicious. Also next day added a London Fog and one of those Mardi Gras options and they hit the spot as well. The place is absolutely charming. However, there aren't enough seatings. The coffee is excellent. The menu is very short and a little pricy. You shouldn't eat there if you're very hungry. They have a variety of drinks hot and cold including the the Nitro Brew, frappes, espresso shots, French pressed coffee, smoothies and refreshers. This was my first visit here and the lady outside taking orders in the tablet was very patient and kind with us as we decided what we wanted because there was no menu visibility from where we were in the line. I knew what I wanted (caramel Frappuccino with extra caramel) but the husband asked for some suggestions, which she happily provided. We paid on the tablet and got our receipt texted to my phone within seconds. The line was long, but moved quickly and within a few minutes, we had our coffees --- and man oh man, were they delicious! That extra caramel really amped up the wow factor and it was ahhhhmazing! I forgot what my husband ordered (something with white chocolate) but I tasted it and it was delicious. I'd actually order it if I remembered the name, and that says a lot because I am a hardcore caramel fan when it comes to my coffee. I can't wait to go try more things at a future visit. read more

I was SUPER excited to try the coffee. I went to get a King Cake Latte, but it was unavailable because it is a seasonal drink. There are three Sbux stores within two miles of my house but I will seek out this truck or drive to their Dauphin St. store when I want coffee. It's worth every second of the 20+ minute drive. I've only recently started drinking coffee when I tried another locally owned shop, so I'm not an aficionado, but gosh, there is a huge difference between the drinks I've tried at Yellowhammer and the other national, well-known chains. The staff is amazing. You tell them what you like/want and they make it for you, with plenty of suggestions if you're interested. Simple as that. And you aren't required to have a whole separate vocabulary just to order a drink. I like the blondie. I've had it hot and blended. It's great either way. There's also a spring/summer drink called a beach bum that is a mix of chocolate and coconut - it's such a treat when you get it blended! Well worth a visit. read more

Today was my first time at YellowHammer Coffee. I will definitely be a regular customer from now on. The quality of coffee is far superior to other places I've been. You can tell they've done their homework to get the best taste around. The coffee shop is small with three barstools inside and one small table outside. They also have a drive-through which I am going to get quite familiar with soon. They really know what they're doing here and can answer all your questions. Searching for the perfect coffee? Search no more, it's here. The "Nitro cold brew" is super strong and smooth, if you need a jolt of energy this is definitely the ticket. One of my personal favorites is the "Blondie", it has a mix of vanilla and caramel served hot. This is not something I thought I would like (I don't normally like sweet coffee)but I absolutely loved it. I'll be back for more. Of course you can't go wrong with a regular cappuccino or latte, but for another sweet option the "Mocha frappe" is fabulous and a sure way to wake you up. They make their's with four shots of espresso, which is perfect (most other places usually only use 1-2 shots). Because of the extra espresso, their's is a little less sweet than the others - which I prefer. Five stars! read more

These guys are serious about their brew and their customer experience. The owners have put a lot of thought into what they're serving up. Talk to them (if you can find 10 minutes when they're not busy) and you'll see that they're passionate about coffee and getting the best possible flavor. They serve hot and cold coffees & teas. You can also get a growler of the cold brew. The only downside is they don't have much seating, inside or outside. Parking is a bit tight, as well. But it's worth the effort I think I found a new reason to visit Midtown. read more

I've been curious about this ship for a while because every time I pass by there is a long line. The location may seem a bit tricky to get into. It is better to enter the service rd from Dauphin St across from the chick fila shopping better and turn left into the drive thru. The signage on the outside is clear to read a decide what to order. There is a regular menu and a seasonal menu. There may be confusion because the pricing is listed for 16oz size but at the window the cashier asked if I wanted small, medium or large. I'm not sure if 16oz is the small size or not, I should have asked. The staff were friendly, helpful and wore face masks. The latte is very smoothe, but I can't really taste the butter pecan or the salted caramel flavoring(hence the 4 stars). I will try something different next, but am glad to support a local business. read more
