The career and training advisors care and they do the best they can to provide guidance and advice. The advisors that I have worked with have been very positive, encouraging, and helpful. NOVA also offers a variety of workshops to cover various needs for job seekers (resume writing, interview skills, LinkedIn tips, etc). However, where I find NOVA really comes through for its members is access to resources. During my time, I was given opportunities to attend job fairs, an event at the LinkedIn campus, and regular networking events. Every Thursday NOVA also brings in a guest speaker to present key topics. Many of these speakers are very open to providing you with free consultations where I've had the chance to get different perspectives on my resume, career coaching, and networking advice. NOVA members also get free access to LinkedIn Premium and LinkedIn Learning for a year and courses on IBM SkillsBuild for 6 months. Most importantly, what you get with NOVA is a community of advisors and members to support you so you don't feel as if you're doing this job search alone. Best of all, all of these services and offerings cost you NOTHING, as long as you live within the qualified cities. Joining NOVAworks does not guarantee you will find a job because there is no one-size-fit-all approach to job searching. As a job seeker it's important to find an approach that works best for or is most comfortable to you. In that respect, NOVAworks does a great job of providing a foundation to work with, and fairly limitless access to tools and resources, that can enable and empower you.

Stopped by this post office to mail some holiday cards on Saturday morning, five days before…read moreChristmas. As I was waiting in my car in the drive-through line, the person in front of me shouted out that the box was so full she could not put one more piece of mail in it. I parked in the side lot to go inside. As I was walking in, a man told me the mailbox inside was so full you had to hand your letters to someone behind the counter. I was bummed because I was in a hurry and didn't want to wait in line. Fortunately, it turned out you could walk right up to a worker who was accepting stamped, outgoing mail with no wait. He kindly stopped me to say one of my cards needed two stamps instead of one. He also complimented the stamps I was using, which were WPA posters from the Great Depression that I bought a few years ago. It was so nice of him. This post office always seems to be crowded, but I've only ever had good service here, except the time I saw a manager throw an outgoing box across the room years ago. That's an image I'll never forget. I vow to mail my cards well in advance of Christmas next year.

Just dropped off a package here at this post office. Definitely worth coming here. This tiny office…read morehas the friendlest staff I've ever experienced at any post office. The cute red head women that helped me was very charismatic, friendly (I'm sorry I didn't catch her name) she wasn't rude and smiled. She seemed to genunely like her job. Not all post offices are created equal. For now on this will be my go-to place, instead of going to the ones in Watsonville, where the workers seem miserable and treat you like you're an inconvenience. Wait time was minimal without any hassle.

Slow and rude unprofessional service. I had mail sent here while on vacation like I did last month…read morein another city but was told rudely that my mail is being returned to sender because I didn't put "General Delivery" under my name in the address. I didn't know that was required the last post office didn't require that. All my mail was in this Santa Cruz post office but they wouldn't give it to me. Worst of all the man was rude about it for some reason. He must hate people living their best lives on the road traveling. So now I have to try to get my mail redelivered and refunded if needed and I'll definitely have my mail sent to a different post office next time.
