Stopped by this post office to mail some holiday cards on Saturday morning, five days before Christmas. As I was waiting in my car in the drive-through line, the person in front of me shouted out that the box was so full she could not put one more piece of mail in it. I parked in the side lot to go inside. As I was walking in, a man told me the mailbox inside was so full you had to hand your letters to someone behind the counter. I was bummed because I was in a hurry and didn't want to wait in line. Fortunately, it turned out you could walk right up to a worker who was accepting stamped, outgoing mail with no wait. He kindly stopped me to say one of my cards needed two stamps instead of one. He also complimented the stamps I was using, which were WPA posters from the Great Depression that I bought a few years ago. It was so nice of him. This post office always seems to be crowded, but I've only ever had good service here, except the time I saw a manager throw an outgoing box across the room years ago. He gets super sassy when called out and he seems to be neurodivergent of some sort. I would highly not recommend going to this location especially if Anthony is working. The Meridian US Post Office operations is horrible... broken printers, one person attending to patrons, waits of 45 mins , delays in post marking important mail dropped property tax off on Thursday does not post marked until Monday supervisor not helping , clerk deciding who and what they will help a patron with after getting up to the window, and saying OH can't help you on that , when clearly they could have....unbelievable... read more

The new passport application system needs to be revamped. Appointments must be booked over 1-2 months out, and walk-in appointments are nearly impossible to get. The party at the front of the line suddenly doubled into about 8 people when the office opened. At 11:30, they finally cut off the line at about 15 walk-ins. Those last people waited for over 5 hours. The passport staff seemed to be understanding, but not everyone at this location was kind. The young kids were getting upset from waiting so long, and the loud noises outside was irritating them even more. They were quietly inside the lobby with their parent for a couple minutes to get a change of scenery before the staff at the package pick-up snapped at them to get out. A gentle request to leave would've been enough. I recommend this location for passports as the person in charge was patient and tried very hard to get to as many people as she could, but I would suggest arriving hours early to assure a spot. There were people who had been waiting from early in the morning who couldn't get in because of line-holding and line jumping from the people in front. read more

I wish old time and year is back with usps. I was not allowed to touch stamps. They said it was against the law for us to touch it. But I could not able to see it clear with stamps so I need to look a little closer. But the another people was able to touch it while I can't. So odd! Maybe its because I am colored? I don't go to the USPS often and get stressed just thinking of the trip, however when I went to this location for the first time, Anthony immediately stood out. He's one of those people who just excels at what they do and has the perfect personality for it. He's extremely efficient, focused, and kind. A lady next to me also made a comment while I was there, pointing out his leveled tone and kind yet direct service. I'll be going to this location from here on out because of his service. read more

The customer service here is absolutely awful. From the moment I walked in, the attitude was unreal. One of the employees a younger, heavyset white guy was rude right off the bat. I watched him walk away from someone who was just asking a simple question. Completely unprofessional. Then I had to deal with another worker, an older Indian woman that had a nasty, dismissive attitude like she couldn't be bothered to do her job. She offered zero help. If you hate dealing with people so much, why are you working in customer service? I left angry and frustrated. I'm so impressed at the amazing service I received from a woman named Toya and the carrier (whose name I did not get unfortunately.) My carrier attempted to deliver my father's ashes and I did not answer the door. When he saw on the side of the box the words "Cremated Remains" he did not feel comfortable leaving the box outside my door. There was an option to leave the box without a signature, but he elected to keep the box safely with himself until I could be reached. Unfortunately online the box showed as delivered by accident. I was so incredibly scared when I saw online the box was delivered, but could not find my father. Customer service was contacted and Toya was amazing and took care of it immediately. My carrier also came immediately with my father. I'm just very thankful my carrier did not feel comfortable because he thought about someone's unfortunate situation and someone else potentially stealing the box of ashes. Both people who helped me were exceptional, and deserve to be recognized. read more

Great staff , enough parking spots are reasons enough to stop by here for your postal needs. The lines are not too crazy ( other than for the passport appointments ) and getting in and out is usually quick , easy and painless. The staff is very friendly and is always available to help the customers irrespective of the time of the day. They have a good collection of basic supplies as well in the post office that you could purchase and make use of if it were to help with your postal needs. This interaction with USPS at this location went very well. Customer Service attendant was excellent and thorough and got my package on its way without a hitch. That said... this facility helped me a number of months ago when mail theft happened to us within USPS. We had proof of the envelope being in tact in the informed delivery app and then when we opened the LOCKED mailbox the envelope had been slit open and the contents stolen. Even with video footage, their own pictures from in their own in town facility and the envelope... I was told I may never know the outcome. They were investigating. I'm sure that this is to protect their confidentially with employees. However, we were stolen from and it was never acknowledged again. I support USPS and see its absolute value to our community. I also see how they have gone way down hill in accountability for things stolen in their care. Once someone drops something at their facility, it remains in their postal carriers hands until it is delivered. The item in the mail stolen from us was dropped off directly at the originating post office and remained in their hands until it reached my locked box. There were no other hands involved. Not my happiest review but still.... Today went great and as such I rated 3 stars even though the mail theft deserves a negative stars review read more

During the midst of my passport application with My, another postal service staff member, who was a white and more heavy set blonde lady, came out and just started talking down on her and being straight up rude. This made the experience awkward, uncomfortable and unsettling and My still kept her cool. I appreciated My's level of patience with me and admired her level of patience with the other staff members. Wasn't sure if she was a higher up or whatever but that kind of condescending attitude wasn't called for and I think the staff deserve atleast a bit more respect with all the things they go through. read more

I live in an apartment complex and the mail person who delivers mail doesn't come to the door. They will deliver things to our package lockers, or to our mail boxes - but if you have a certified letter or package that won't fit - they refused to delivery to the door, or make any re-delivery attempts. I was home at the time that the mail person left an info notice in my mailbox to pick up at this location. I tried to reschedule the package for a redelivery - and it never showed up. The whole purpose of ordering things online is to avoid having to go out and get them... So I left work early and went to the Willow Glen post Office to pick up my package and the line was out the door I waited for 20 minutes and the line didn't move. I came back on Monday afternoon and the line was way shorter. Today, I spoke with Anthony at the counter, he went and got my package ( it was there and not out for re-delivery) Anthony looked *thrilled* to be there... and was more excited to text on his cell phone than to do this job... but that's none of my business. I told Anthony that I was waiting for the package and nobody came to the door. This has happened multiple times with USPS at this new apartment complex that I live in. I had certified mail delivered and no one came to the door. he told me that they should've tried to deliver to the door before putting the info notice in my mailbox and suggested I talk with a supervisor. I used to live in another building 1 block away and never had this issue, so I figured sure why not. The supervisor came over, Morgan - her facial expression said everything to me before she spoke a word. I knew this was not going to go well from just her facial expression. Morgan stated that it's a local policy for mail carriers not to deliver items to the door, for apartments - since there are so many apartments here. I asked to see the policy, and she said they didn't have one written since it's a local policy. lol. For the love government agencies... Morgan stated this was a local policy, but your employee Anthony at the counter didn't know about it... ? Gotta love the customer service here. Again, I know the postal service has staffing issues as they are constantly hiring. Of course I understand that yes, we do have a large number of apartments. But Isn't that a good thing? Apartments means more customers ? More residents to pay for postage and get packages delivered. Maybe it's me... but having more customers I thought was a good thing? My point is that this service exists to deliver letters and packages to peoples homes. If you refused to do that, then what is the point? read more

Post lady Said that the ups package I left in my out going usps slot. My mistake. Usps threw it away. Or it's sitting in a warehouse with the other lost packages. She said to ask ups for my package. But you think they would have sent it to Amazon. Amazon is still waiting a month for the package to arrive. Usps could just give it to ups. My mistake. But they threw it away instead. read more

Went at 4pm on Mon to ship two packages. Service was fast. The attendants were cordial and very helpful.

I'd like to give this operation a better ranking- I'm sure many of the postal workers are hard working- but it just seems mismanaged and difficult to get problems solved. I came in recently just to drop off a letter and make sure I had enough postage. There were four or five post workers behind the counters aso I figured they were geared up to handle the lunchtime traffic. But only two of them were waiting on customers, and both customers had extensive business to deal with- one was trying to get a passport, the other guy had a dozen packages to methodically go through. The other three postal workers could see a line forming but they continued flitting around, in and out...after about 6 or 7 min, another one finally showed up to wait on me. Other times I've tried to correct a forwarding mail issue, and it's nearly impossible to get an answer, either by phone or in person.So the last time they told me to wait for a supervisor. I waited and waiting, no supervisor. I finally left after 10 min. Total fail. read more

The worst. I have never experienced such bad mail delivery at any other USPS office. I contacted them about a package that I did not receive and they say it was delivered but to whom? I wasn't me. Where does these packages go? How can someone charged with a federal duty to deliver mail and screw that up? Are they selling them on eBay? US Postal needs to improve its passport services. The website lists this location as available for walk in passport appointments but after getting there 3 hours early to get a good spot in line on Saturday they said they only do walk ins on Tuesday and Thursdays. How about posting that on the web site you A holes? I would have made an appointment but you can never get one in a Saturday and I work during the week and need to do this in person because passport is for my kid. If possible I would like to give 0 star to this USPS location. One of the employees at the pick up area was unapologetically being difficult in the administration of her job. The older woman with medium straight black hair, but dyed, with a curve at her shoulders, with glasses on told my husband that he is not able to pick up my package because our last names did not match, and we could be "divorced". Another employee told me the day before, (11/22/2022), that my husband could help me pick up my package with my handwritten permission letter and copy of my ID. But when my husband returned on 11/23/2022 at about 1:55 PM, he showed her the online USPS tracking number, delivery information, his ID, my handwriting permission letter and more but he still was not allowed to pick up the package and that lady even not gave my husband chance to show the permission letter. Said that she must have a government ID with the correct name or else she cannot hand over the package especially since our last names don't match. This was further complicated by the USPS failing to give us a missed delivery note when they should have. Hopeless and terrible location! As a long time resident in this area, I am just so sick of dealing with some of the staff here. It looks like we got some new people but they are just as bad... especially the Asian lady with very pale makeup. It reminds me of an Asian mom or clueless auntie. I am ashamed to be a fellow Asian for her lack of common sense. I went to ship a large envelope and used the automated kiosk to weigh and purchase postage. The kiosk printed out a large postage label (not the smaller stamp). These labels have a backing you are supposed to peel off. When I did so, I found there was barely any adhesive. Instead of edge to edge adhesive, there are measly 3 thin strips and the entire label just wouldn't stick to the envelope. I went in line and got serviced by the said Asian lady. I explained the issue to her and showed her the label obviously didn't have enough adhesive and that it won't stick. I ask if she can put some glue on it or use some tape to tape the postage label to the envelope. To my surprise, she told me I would have to pay for the tape! No matter how I explain it, this lady is too thick to understand this. THE POSTAGE LABEL IS SUPPOSED TO BE SELF-ADHESIVE. The label is clearly defective but she doesn't get it, to which I spoke English very slowly to her: 1) The label is defective. She can glue it or tape it, I am OK with either. 2) My envelope came sealed and taped. I don't need tape. The additional glue or tape is needed to fix their label defect. 3) If she doesn't want to fix this issue, then void the postage label and reprint another one with better adhesive. To this, she just keep repeating I need to pay for the tape to fix their issue. It's only when I got irritated and requested a manager, a fellow employee said the kiosk tape is probably running low or that roll is defective, and that they can just tape the postage. Problem solved! Yet, this Asian lady just keep going on and on and insist they should charge me for the tape.... so we can tape the defective label their system printed. Gosh... I don't know where the USPS hire their people from... It's just truly shocking. read more

I have nothing but immense respect for the folks who work here (or any other USPS locations for that matter). It is grueling work with not much reward. My mail has been accurate atleast 99% of the times and so no complaints. The staff is always friendly and the location is big. I love that they have a big lobby with longer hours so i can drop off packages at y convenience. The lobby used to be open 24/7 but I think they reduced hours since the pandemic began to avoid thefts and such. I moved to South San jose but still come back here for my mail work. read more

I just received a very unfortunate call from Sherian the supervisor at this location. I'm a community manager and our mailboxes got broken in to. I called the USPS Inspection service and submitted two cases for a fix and for an investigation. I then went to the postal office to inform them and see if I needed to do anything else to get it fixed. I was told to call the USPS Inspection service and that they would submit a work order to get it fixed. I felt good leaving believing what I was told plus what actions I needed to do to inform my residents. Then I received a nasty call from Sherian demanding I get new mailboxes and that they wouldn't fixed it. I was confused because that was not what I was told. I then asked if it could get it fixed or not and then she proceeded to tell me that the mailboxes have been broken into so many times and I needed to replace them. You can imagine my shock because this was the first I EVER heard of that and was NEVER informed of any breakins. I then told her that I went to the office and wasn't told that, she asked who did I speak with and I said I didn't get a name and then told me that was silly of me. I then asked her if she had recommendations on mailboxes, she told me to "google secure mailboxes" and gave me one manufacturer name. All is all the call was extremally unprofessional and unfortunate because we should have been on the same team but she made me the victim of her frustrations which I would like to iterate that I was not aware that this was happening. Jazzy, I believe (manager) please train your team appropriately to deal with such things. If a customer is speaking to a clerk about something they shouldn't address please train them to redirect them. Sherian, I hope you never speak to anyone the way you spoke to me. I took my chances and popped in to renew my passport. Yes, even after I read several reviews for several places. I expected to be either turned away or a 6 hour wait. Alas, the stars were aligned for me. I arrived at 12:15 on Thursday afternoon, grabbed a number and I was out the door at 1:45. This felt like a miracle and I'm oh I'm very thankful. I went to the post office at 1750 Meridian Ave, San Jose, CA 95125 to get some tasks done. When I was in line, Jaswinder Sidhu asked me if I was here for something, and told me I cannot apply for a passport without an appointment and left. I had other things to do so I stayed in the line and she came back and repeated herself and rudely told me to get out without asking if I needed any other help. She was unprofessional and rude, so I asked to speak with her manager, and she said she was the manager. She was not there to help customers, but was instead abusing her power as manager and destroying the reputation of USPS. She is the worst person I've ever met ! Gotta show love for my local post office. Truthfully, I rarely need to go here (especially inside), but when I do they're always helpful and the line is never too crazy. Or at least when it's long it moves fairly quickly. I recently sold a few pairs of shoes online and used the post office for all my shipping needs--they had the right boxes ready to go, tape, etc. Then I either handed it over to a worker there or dropped it in the box.
