The first time I brought my car in to fix an engine light issue with my oxygen sensor on my Honda accord, he helped recommend a better brand and was honest and helpful. I now have brought my CX5 to him multiple times already for his expert opinion on different issues and for regular maintenance. He's always very responsive, easy to get a hold of, and willing to share his knowledge and expertise. Recently, I brought in a long list of items to be fixed from the dealership, and he was honest in what he thought needed to be done more urgently vs not, and his prices were also much more reasonable. He was kind enough to help me as well with replacing my car battery and windshield wipers. After Wesley inspected the parts to ensure that everything was complete, I handed over my keys and headed off to work! Late afternoon the next day, I received a text that the installation had been completed and my car was ready to be picked up. As my Lyft driver dropped me off in front of the establishment, I observed my sexy car sitting pretty with her new front lip and side skirts! Before processing payment and handing over my keys, the always personable David, explained to me the process and tools needed to safely secure the parts to the car (a big concern considering how dangerous it would be if a part were to fly off while on the road). To further elaborate on the measures taken to ensure a quality installation, David also explained that they used their own fasteners for the installation; versus using the sometimes mediocre fasteners that are shipped with some car accessories. The attention to detail and customer service is truly what keeps me coming back. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! They told us where to leave the key, and the owner drove over to park inside the garage so our car would be safe from theft, which we really appreciated. He examined our car and told us what was wrong, and gave us a far price and fixed it the next day. He even picked up my husband since it's our only car to see it. It's been working very well.
