This home inspector has a reputation for ruining purchases with his outlandish and fraudulent inspections. I am a seller who's home was under contract. the buyers from out of state paid for his services. The inspection which he said would take 2-3 hours took significantly longer. He arrived looking unkempt and disheveled. The report itself was full of misleading information. for example, he recommended replacing "wood framed single paned windows in my home". My windows are double panes and metal framed.... he also stated he saw live termites, I had a termite inspection company come the next week who stated there are NO live termites. He recommended a sump pump for flooding under the house but also stated there was no water present at the time of inspection-during a 3 inches in 3 hour downpour that was happening at the time of inspection. He left the key to the front door IN the lock when he left and also left the AC unit in the "on" position instead of "auto" causing the unit to freeze from running nonstop. However, his report caused the buyers to back out of the contract. There were some things that were legitimate, such as replacing outlet covers and light fixtures. All cosmetic items. I do NOT recommend him to buyers who want a fair and accurate report on the purchase of their future home. This man has been reported to the board. It may be as simple as furthering his education but in the meantime, he's known for his inaccurate reporting. Once I started looking into this man's reputation, it became very clear that he is known for his unfair and personal opinion instead of personal. Such as him not liking the color of a house and recommending it be repainted. Or hanging drywall in an already finished garage for what he stated was a fire hazard in a WOOD FRAMED HOUSE, like all homes. Or sealing a paved driveway. All personal preference rather than legit concerns about the structure and stability of a home. read more
