It was my first time shopping in a Mexican grocery store, and I was genuinely surprised by how modern it was and how abundant the selection felt. The store offered more fresh items than many grocery stores in the U.S.--and this was during the peak of the so-called "egg shortage." I snapped a few photos along the way. A couple of takeaways stood out. I bought a small stick of butter that was unlike anything I'd regularly experienced in the States--the flavor and the way it melted were noticeably better. I also picked up a few heads of lettuce that were incredibly fresh and crisp, complete with the roots still attached. Honestly, if I were back home, I could've planted them again. All in all, if you're in Cabo and need a grocery store but don't want to drive all the way to Walmart, this spot has everything you need and is very comparable to any grocery store in the United States.

The layout is massive and the store is broken up into sections that range from beauty supply and cosmetics to clothing, electronics, seafood, and a specialty courtyard experience. Cedraui is a chef's dream and takes buying groceries to a whole new level. There is a mechanical wine bar so you can enjoy a glass of wine as you select from the vast varieties of specialty cheeses, rustic breads, fine wines, tequilas, refrigerated produce, or even ready made foods. Cedraui offers guests comfortable seating, big screen televisions and excellent customer service and I saw a group of gentlemen just hanging out watching sports on TV in the air conditioned food court. When the mercury rises this is the place to go. I am excited to have so many shopping choices in San José del Cabo.

I got home and found that it was an oral inhaler. I went back to the store and they refused to give me a refund because I had opened the box. But how would I know it was the wrong kind of inhaler without opening the box? If the pharmacist didn't know without looking, how the hell would I? I told them this, they still would not refund me. They told me that I would have had to not open the box. So I guess I need to be able to read the box better than their pharmacist.

Yup, "Walnar" was my go-to out of the gates. Man, I forgot how crappy that place was...no bueno. Needing additional supplies, I decided to look for a local market to pick up some odds 'n ends a day after my arrival - found Santa Carmela on the map. It turned out to be a great little market - I visited twice (maybe three times?) Smaller quantities of products from produce, dairy, deli items (fresh guac and salsa), beer, snacks and Cabo Unico tequila! For me, it sucks to be in a huge market on vacation. I loved stopping by a smaller, local market with quality goods - that was Santa Carmela.
