Its done up in very funky colours with comfortable tables, cushion cubes and seats /booths to be had. Their speciality is ice creams and deserts as you might imagine with the name! It is also quite big on the inside, it looks quite small from outside and i was surprised at how open and well done up it was inside. They have quite an extensive range of ice creams, waffles, cakes and sweet treats. I've been a couple of times now and have not been disappointed. Usually i get an ice cream sundae and its either smaller than i would like or just a range of lack lustre ice creams thrown in smothered in sauce. Not this place! First of all don't order two of these to try them out....they are huge! They have many flavours and types such as the caramel banana boat and the knicker-bocker glory. They are, in a word, immense. Tasty quality ice cream and ingredients, they also use fresh fruit in some of their ones as well as waffles, cakes, desserts and protein shakes. Its delicious, terribly fattening and bad for you.....excellent!!! They also havea range of tea, coffee and juices if your not for expanding your waistline on a visit as well. Staff are friendly and welcoming, happy to have a chat and talk about the menu as well. Great wee place!

My friend and I were walking by and decided we should stop in for a fix; unfortunately we left rather disappointed. The staff was very nice, but also very young and not so experienced at the customer service side of things. Our order took FORever and mine arrived wrong...then to get it resolved also took an act of parliament. My ice cream tasted like the cheapest crap you can by from the store with no flavor because it is mostly air. The toppings were just very sugary again, with no rich flavor that I would expect from a top notch ice cream joint. My friend has a waffle-chocolate concoction, which looked impressive however again was way too sugary and not full of much flavor. I don't think I would ever come here again with my customer service experience combined with the poor quality of ingredients!

They were so kind and charismatic, I wish I could remember their names. It was just the two of them working and they were still able to give everyone a good bit of attention and bring out food and drinks promptly. After seeing how tasty their menu looked we ordered a cinnamon roll and were not the slightest bit disappointed. We also ordered hot chocolate shots which were more of a shot of fondue but equally delicious! This is somewhere you must stop in Glasgow!

I thought if their cakes looked that amazing, the brunch must be amazeballs. I entered the grand looking coffee shop with walls of mirrors and a counter of cakes on a very dreicht Saturday morning. I was a bit late but fortunately when I arrived people had just ordered, I quickly picked from the menu French Toast (I knew what I wanted before I ordered to be honest) and a pot of Breakfast Tea. There was 10 fabulous Yelpers and we all picked a nice mix of various brunch meals. When the dishes hit the posh tables they looked pretty tasty. My tea was lovely and the French toast was a tasty brioche bread with a wee bowl of maple syrup to drizzle over. Now, don't get me wrong it did taste nice but I've had better and I felt like I could have had another slice, especially at the price they were charging. Now this place is not cheap. I knew that the cake was steep as I had seen the branch in Glasgow Central. Not only were my teeth thinking of falling out with the amount of sugar those mahoosive cakes have but my eyes were popping out with the prices. I really wanted to try the French toast with bacon but I just couldn't see myself paying over £7 for it. Maybe when I'm rich 'n' shiz. The staff were lovely and accommodating. I would like try their lunch menu and a slice of cake to see if they taste as good as they look. Firstly though I'll need to save up for the visit. So if anyone would like to support my next visit, donations are very welcome.

Pâtisserie Valérie is a very welcoming place where everyone should feel comfortable. Pastries are SO GOOD and sweet (just like the staff is). Moreover, the soft background music is making such a nice atmosphere!

Yes, I'll be as bold to say: I hate all hating spouted by haters especially when directed at yawn-worthily obvious targets like hipsters. There. I lead with this little prelude as I left a bloody battle in London: a battle between hipsters and those obviously-deeply-embittered-by-a-woefully-unfulfilled-desire-to-be-part-of-the-cool-gang (as seriously, there is no other real explanation for this wildly irrational disdain) over polarising cereal-lovers'-delight, Cereal Killer in Brick Lane. Well move over Shoreditch. Glasgow now boasts Scotland's first cereal bar - Black Vanilla - standing bright white and cereally proud in the East End heart of Duke Street. I popped in this eve to check it out for myself - super busy and with no sign of slowing down at 7pm. While I did not partake personally (owing to a Dennistoun Bar-B-Que food baby) - I have awarded 5 stars on the principle of '5 stars until proven 3' (well, if it's good enough for the justice system...). The cakes look epic (Tunnocks Teacake cake *eyes roll back in head*), the donuts extreme, the sweetie shop insane and the ice-cream flavours all to-die-for. Add to that the longest wall of specialty British and US cereals you've ever seen, all served with a topping of said sweets and your choice of 10 flavoured milks or concocted into one of 5 cereal cocktails. Yes, really. So, if you're as bored as I am with hipster bashing, get along to this monument of gentrification and knock yourself out on a bowl of Lucky Charms covered in smashed Oreos and drowning in peanut butter flavoured milk. I'd take it over eCigarette stores, pawn brokers or dodgy tanning salons any day.

Last night instead of booze we got shakes and I tried (badly) not to get Ice cream all down me. The shop was rammed when we got there. Ten min queue at least. The staff looked shattered. Like they had been serving desserts for about ten hours solid. When it got to my turn to pick I chose the cookie shake. It's a Cookie shake with ice cream, Oreo biscuits and cream on top. It was amazing. Very sweet and decadent. You literally feel like your having 3 desserts in one go. This is a 2000 calorie job I reckon. As well as shakes they do ice cream, waffles, cereal, sweets, etc. I like this place. I would not go all the time just purely as I felt like I put on a 5 kilos just walking into the shop, but it's certainly somewhere to go for a treat if you love the sweeter things in life!
