We shared the Traditional Pepito with chicken and sirloin, the Classic Choripan and Tequenos. All of them were excellent and honestly, I can't pick a favorite. The meat had excellent flavor and the toppings complimented it well. The tequenos were standard tequenos, which is a good thing- I love them! Next time I would probably get the Pepito with all sirloin instead. Not because the chicken was bad, but the sirloin was that good. And the sandwiches were massive! I was pretty stuffed at the end of it. The service was quick also. I ordered at the truck and waited about 10 minutes for my order.

Instead of pernil they gave me beef which I did not want. I also requested sauce on the side that clearly didn't happen, see attached picture. It was honestly too soggy to eat and it came with two but with the amount of meat they didn't put I took it off of one and put it on the other to make it suffice. I also ordered a side of fries they apparently didn't have those either but gave me fried yuca which was actually the only thing I really enjoyed. I also ordered a side of sweet plantain which was so overcooked, see other attached picture. Out of my $45 ordered we only ate the $4 fried yuca. This place was so disappointing and I was so excited to try it.

This was my first year attending White Linen Night in the Heights after many years of wanting to…read morego. It always falls on the first Saturday in August which to me was one of the drawbacks. It's hot in August! Not sure if there is any significance on the date, but the event is inspired by a New Orleans tradition and started by New Orleans natives who moved to Houston. If you haven't guessed from the name of the event, they encourage everyone to wear white linen for comfort in the summer hear. From what I understand, it used to be a free event, but now they charge a fee of 15 bucks which to me is very reasonable as these type of events take time to plan, set up and clean up afterwards. They have live music, all kinds of pop up vendors, art, and all around good vibes. Alot of the vendors like White Claw, Saint Arnold's and others were giving away drinks which in itself should make one feel good about the small entrance fee. We did buy drinks and food to snack on as well. They also allow people to bring coolers which is cool and all, but there was some people that clearly were drinking all day and needed their friends to keep them upright. Glad I grew out of that stage. Once the clock strikes 10pm, they start shutting down and telling everyone to head on out. Overall, this was a cool event that I can see myself coming back to. I love how diverse the crowd is and the good vibes all around. Would I prefer it in the fall? Of course! Maybe they can make that happen one day. See ya'll there next year!

I guess there is something a little appealing about the whole chaos of it and I usually mange to run into people I haven't seen in a long time so I guess it's not all that bad. A word of advice: bring a little cooler for yourself with water or other beverages. To be honest, I have no idea what the alcohol rules are there but most people there are lit up real good so I guess it's pretty lax. As for parking, you're better off not bringing a car or taking a shuttle. I usually park 5-6 blocks away and walk but then I'm kind of grizzled and know my secret spots. A lot of street parking does open up after sunset too once the families evacuate the area with their children and the night boozing begins.

I just catered breakfast for a family event with 20 people and spend $442 (including tip/delivery)…read more The food was mediocre and the portions were so small. I ordered "The Convention" breakfast which was "Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Breakfast Potatoes and Buttermilk Biscuits" - it came with literally 20 tiny sausage patties and biscuits total. So one tiny sausage and biscuit per person. I didn't count the bacon but it was a similarly stingy portion. No one had more than two pieces. The eggs were bland. The potatoes were actually good. But overall, it was so embarrassing to have the food show up and it be these tiny trays of hardly any food for over $400. I would have been better off ordering individual dishes for each person from a local restaurant. I thought with the high Yelp and Google reviews I saw, this would be a safe bet! I also ordered a 20 mini pastries for $3.25 each which were like pastries you get at a 7/11. At least if you are overcharging, let the food be good and not like you unwrapped pastries from a Costco haul. Worst of all was the coffee which was watered down and disgusting. Everyone threw theirs out so I just dumped it. What an utter waste of money. Also they only sent 8 cups with the coffee even though the breakfast was for 20. Stingy and bland all around. If you are catering for a small group, please save yourself the trouble and embarrassment and just order takeout from a local restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the spread but I was just too upset. All I took was the coffee which you can tell even from the picture was watery. ***The menu listed the items but didn't say only 1, 1oz piece of bacon per person - that's absolutely absurd for a normal breakfast portion. Who would cater one piece of bacon per person?
