When he began seeing Michael, he was on insulin and 70 pounds overweight. After a year [maybe less, actually], he was at 6% body fat, exercising regularly and so much happier. And hot. As to my experience, he was able to help me and our 14 year old daughter learn how to read food product labels, understand what they are really indicating about the 'food' in the container and how that affects the body. SHOCKER. While pregnant the last time around, which was ironically not very long ago, I had some worries about avoiding gestational diabetes and keeping my blood pressure where it needed to be. I went to see him and asked about some specific issues and he was able to point to what I was eating and offer suggestions to get the changes I wanted to see. Following the meal plan and suggestions he made, I didn't develop either of those issues, nor any others and ended up giving his contact info to my midwives. I have referred friends struggling with all sorts of body, food and beverage issues. Every one of them has had a positive experience. So my point in writing this review is to express the sheer diversity of counsel that Michael can offer. There was zero wait time on both occasions, and the facility itself is clean, modern, and comfortable. Both my son and I had DEXA scans, and he also had his RMR measured. The tests were quick and efficient, and afterward, they printed out the results and went over them with us in detail. They were more than happy to answer our questions, and if they weren't 100% sure of something, they took the time to find the answer rather than give a vague response. We also received digital copies of our results by email, which is great for keeping track of progress. The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. The pricing is in line with other places in Houston, and actually better than some. If you're looking for a DEXA scan or RMR test in Houston, I highly recommend Composition ID on Kirby.
