I am a softball coach for Hofstra University and the last two years we have used Charlie & Chef on the Bay to feed our teams dinner and also boxed lunches. She works within our budget and her food is wonderful; from her stuffed chicken breast with seven Italian cheeses and spinach to her fresh veggies, homemade bread or second-to-none mashed potatoes, my players love it all. We get back from the field and walk into a hotel with a full spread ready for us and a hot buffet. Could not as for more. We wish we could bring her with all season! And the best part? She and John are two of the nicest, most passionate people you'll ever meet. For as big a fan as we are of her, I'm pretty sure she's been a bigger fan of us. I can't say enough great things about Chef Charlie and crew. They cater my in laws Christmas Eve parties and we recently had them do our wedding lunch. I didn't have the time nor the inclination to decorate the reception space and Charlie and her crew did it all and made it perfect with very little input from me. The tables were charming and the shells and netting made a perfect beach setting. The ribs were the best I've had in our area, I wish I could eat them all the time! Also her chicken and waffles were amazing! They charge very reasonable rates considering the stellar service, delicious food, and all the other items included/available like utensils and linens. They even provided cute chairs for a great rate and set them up when she realized I would be stuck with the less attractive chairs available with my venue! read more

We hired Chef on the Bay to cater our wedding of about 100 people, we are thrilled with how well everything went. Working with Chef Charlie was a delight. She really went above and beyond with the quality of food and level of service. From organizing our tasting to the actual reception, everything felt special. Our guests raved about the food. The chicken picatta and chorizo stuffed sweet peppers were my absolute favorites and some of the best dishes I've ever had. Her fresh marinara sauce is amazing. She only uses fresh ingredients and it really does come through in the taste. It meant a lot to have such wonderful people help create our perfect day. We first met Charlie when she catered our friends' wedding reception in 2015 and we were extremely impressed! Fast forward and we have since moved from New Jersey and had Chef Charlie cater the celebration of one year in our new home. All that I can say is Charlie and her team are extremely professional, food is AMAZING and walking into a completely spotless kitchen after our event was a great feeling. Her team members are very gracious and interacted appropriately with our guests. We had a regular caterer in NJ and were concerned we would not find someone we liked as much but Chef Charlie has exceeded our expectations. The food was very disappointing, bland and beginner-level dishes. "Chef Charlie" is very unprofessional, bossy, and rude. The service was terrible and the servers were incompetant and rude as well. My husband surprised me for our 10 year anniversary using Chef On The Bay. Our night started out with a boat ride to a private island. Where are own personal Chefs Charlie and John were on the shore with a table for two and champagne in waiting. We were able to enjoy walks on the beach during the sunset and under the beautiful nighttime Star's our table was decorating with pictures throughout the years and the flowers on the table were the colors I used in my wedding. Chef Charlie and John let my husband choose the food to serve for the evening meal and it was all my favorite foods. Stuffed mushrooms , Broccoli Cheese soup, a Salad with a Vinaigrette dressing, a fillet Mignon steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus! Last but not least the yummy Cheese Cake! The food was amazing there is not enough stars to describe the service and the taste of the food we were served. When I called Chef Charlie to book her for my dad's 90th birthday she promised me two things; the food would be delicious and I wouldn't have to do anything...not even pick up a napkin! Boy did she and her team deliver! The food was beyond delicious...it was AWESOME! And, true to her word she and her crew put out and incredible spread and left the house and kitchen spotless.
