Regarding the food -- we opted for a two-entree buffet, including the chicken with basil/mushroom/sun-dried tomato cream (loved it!) and the macadamia nut-crusted mahi (also good, but wasn't ideal for a buffet, in my opinion). Dessert about 90 minutes later included a fruit tray, choice of peanut butter and fudge, mango or raspberry sorbet, and a large Mediterranean platter that included eggplant. olives, hummus, and stuffed grape leaves. I was still full so sadly can't tell you personally how delicious they were but my husband went up several times for more hummus! Lastly, the catering staff was PHENOMENAL-- the nicest, most attentive, and generally best servers I've had in a long time. She came to our house, was allergy free, a great person and a small business. I trusted her big time with a big wedding. We had over 160 people show up- and several tables were not fed as well as the vendors. I'm still mortified. Realistically probably about 100 people were fed. This doesn't even account for the for the guests having to decide between chicken or steak. It was supposed to be both for everyone! When we talked about it with her- she claimed & claimed there was food. The many guests that we've talked to about the situation all said they weren't fed or were fed very little. I'm a graceful woman and would have given all the grace to someone who would have owned up to not making enough food for our guests- but there was no owning up nor making things right. I have never been more disappointed and would never want this to happen to anyone else because it's absolutely safe to say that Miss Jennie did not take care of us on our most important day. I would NOT trust her for your day. & I would be very weary of her food allergy caution as there were full on Hawaiian rolls set out and we requested everything to be gluten free. Also we asked for left overs (food and dessert) and never received anything. When we called to ask, she told us that some of the food that was never made was still sitting on her counter. (We paid for this & im mortified that we got scammed as bad as we did) Moral of it- do not use Simple Delights unless you want to waste money. We did not get what we put in (we had at least 15-20 people not show up) and we paid for it all. Confidently can say it was embarrassing to us both as we crossed our t's and dotted our I's. & it's a core memory to our perfect day. It was awful. If I could give her a -5 out of 5 I would because how could someone do that to someone who paid fully and trusted fully?
