Barbacoa Boyz Smash burger and Pulled Pork Sandwich with dessert, Banana Pudding.
    Charlie F.

This was worth the effort to find. My wife and I are vacationing in Florida this week (based out of Lakeland) and wanted to spend the day at Clearwater Beach! While on the way I asked her to pull up restaurants in Clearwater that have a high rating. She scrolled through a few and saw Barbacoa Boyz and BBQ ribs with a 4.9/5.0 rating. Initially we couldn't find "the store" so we called the number. So glad we did. They are a food truck and you need to track them down. It is definitely worth finding. They were parked in front of Station Square Park on Cleveland Street and we were so glad we gave them a shot. The park was a busy place today and many people were wandering around the area. Ribs were not available today but my wife said the pulled pork sandwich would be a good option. Loads of pulled pork and bbq sauce on a toasted bun and she said not just a good option but a GREAT option. (Usually comes with pickle but she opted out of the pickle.) My smash burger with grilled onions and American cheese was awesome. Highly recommend both of these sandwiches. Oh, and dessert --Banana Pudding ! Yes, please!!! Enjoy!!

A pan of ribs, chicken, two pans of baked beans, two pans of Mac-n-cheese, a pan of coleslaw and a pan of potato salad. Fed 70-80 people

. We had a fantastic family reunion after 30 years, and the Barbacoa Boyz truly delivered on their promise with an unforgettable meal. The chicken and beef ribs were prepared to perfection--so succulent they reminded us of the massive ribs from the Flintstones! The spread included potato salad, coleslaw, mac and cheese, baked beans, and Hawaiian rolls, all complemented by their delicious barbecue sauce. Every bite was tantalizing, and I have nothing but praise for the food. I do wish I could have taken an extra bottle of their sauce home, but honestly, the ribs were so perfectly cooked that they didn't even need it. The meat fell off the bone, rich with smoke and seasoning. I wouldn't recommend counting kids in the ribs, though--they're just too big. Consider another option for the little ones. They were so nice and better than on time they were before time by 30mins. I will definitely use them again if in the area for a special event. Everyone in the Abram family was surprisingly happy and full. Traveling from all over the US and other countries The Barbacoa Boyz nailed our menu and expectations. Thank you!! Tracy-

BARBACOA BOYS FOR THE WIN!! Had them at the bbq and bacon fest in st Pete and I was no disappointed. The pork belly burnt ends we're a first for me and I didn't know what to expect really. They weren't even burnt, they were moist and soft but still had a bit of a chew to them. Glazed with some magic sauce that made me shake what my momma gave me. The loaded mac and cheese was to die for.... All homemade and truly great. Love this place

Omg! Amazing and delicious! Jay is for sure "THE PITMASTER" Jay himself is such an amazing guy! The Brisket will leave you feeling blessed and say Amen, the pull pork is top notch and the Ribs will have you slapping Yo mama! Two thumbs, 5 stars and a very full belly satisfied! Thank you Jay for feeding our soul!

I love a good espresso martini and they did not disappoint. The oysters were fresh and delicious, and the Florida grouper sandwich tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. You can tell the ingredients are high quality. For dessert, we had the flourless chocolate cake and the caramel custard flan. Both were beautifully plated and tasted incredible... so good that you really don't want to stop at just one bite. Between the great food, amazing desserts, gorgeous views, and attentive service, Ocean Seven really delivered. It's a perfect spot for brunch, celebrations, girls' outings, or special occasions. Definitely a place I'd come back to for the vibes alone.

Today, I was driving past, starving but with a full schedule of errands to run. If it had been any other place, I would have ignored it and just gotten coffee somewhere to keep me moving. Brakes, u-turn, park. I waited a couple minutes while some people gathered their order. I was too hungry to choose and asked the kind lady in the window to help me. She was patient and helped me by simply being patient. A few more people came up and I got nervous I was taking too long. But people just smiled. I decided to try a lot of stuff, but not so much I'd waste anything...including money if it wasn't as good as I hoped. Brisket wasn't ready yet so I went with Pulled Pork sandwich... Tender tasty meat nicely sauced on a white bread hamburger bun, with extra sauce on the side. I added sauce, but not so much as I wanted to taste the meat more. The sauce was good enough to eat like you would Chocolate sauce with ice cream. You're not going to leave any behind. Perfect sandwich saved me. Collard greens...perfectly cooked and seasoned, not too salty, pieces of bbq meat flavoring it nicely. Perfect side. Mac N Cheese...correctly cooked noodles, perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper, and cheese throughout, though not the gooey cheesy saucy kind of cheese...not velveeta "cheese". Really nice side. Banana Pudding...this is homemade with chunks of banana and chunks of (shortbread?) cookies. This is one of my favorites. Can of soda. She apologized it wasn't that cold. Her caring made it taste better. As you can see by the stars, I really liked this place. I'll be getting back to my errands now, an hour later after eating in my car and pondering a nap. I have a couple more bites of the pudding, which I will not be saving for later. Highly recommended for anyone who likes barbecue. And actually for anyone who thinks they don't like bbq. They will soon.

Courtney was my waitress, and even when slammed, she never forgot me. She was professional and did an outstanding job both times I ate with her. As for the food, it was the best I had in Clearwater. I prefer Diner and Dive local eats compared to overpriced and pretentious restaurants. I had the seafood platter and the Grouper sandwich, and both were outstanding and grilled to perfection. I enjoyed my seafood scallops and grouper with green beans on the platter, but I LOVED my sandwich and fries! This was also my FIRST stop on the Cocktail Challenge (four stops for four signature drinks at four locations), and I enjoyed my drink on a humid day and, if I'm being honest, loved my Dockside Lemonade the best of all the drinks on the challenge. I had the Banana Hammock and, of course, the Rum Runner, which was outstanding, but this Dockside Lemonade was cool and refreshing and welcomed. Little sweet as a heads up, but really a nice summer drink! At the end of the day, this was a great way to start my challenge and Clearwater vacation. It can get busy with its proximity to the beach, so beware! ***For the record, if you are interested in the challenge. Go South Beach, Rockaway, Saltwater (for the views and true on-the-beach dining). End with a grouper sandwich (the best I had) at the Original and then cash in your passport at the next block at Off the Hook!

My, "char-grilled" grouper filet seemed like a frozen fillet that would be normally breaded and put in a sandwich. It tasted like it was cooked on the plate in a warming oven. The coconut rice was old, dried out, and smeared onto the plate. All of this was nearly cold when I got it, like it had been sitting out for a long time. Then the coleslaw side was about 2-3 tablespoons worth in a plastic dressing cup. It was such a mistake to order. I get it, it's on the beach and convenient, and the waitstaff was polite enough, but if you have a health condition where you need to avoid fried food, I'd go somewhere else. It definitely left me feeling taken advantage of.
