We hired Angela Barrera for our wedding caterer for her tacos and she came very well recommended on this page as well as others and we booked her basically a year in advance from our date so there was plenty of time for the planning and confirming of details. The quality of the food was below par as well as the quality of service towards our guests. She and her helper were very rude towards many of our guests, they both had an attitude and were slapping people's hands if they reached for a plate at the start of the line. When they arrived after a couple of calls from my coordinator, they walked THROUGH our cocktail hour with all of their stuff instead of using the side caterer entrance and kitchen doors. They did not bring the tablecloths that were specified would be brought, the food was ice cold when they started serving dinner and it took over 2 HOURS to serve dinner when it was supposed to take maybe an hour and half at the most. We ordered food for 150 people and we only had 122 guests attend, and we had about 9 vendors we planned on feeding as well. Many of the vendors didn't get to eat at all. They ran out of toppings for the tacos about 6 tables in, we had 13 tables in total. They also ran out of meat before all of the tables were fed and guests tried to go up for 2nds (this was also after using an extra pan we ordered for the next day that was supposed to feed an additional 20-25 people). The end couple of tables didn't have an option of what they wanted and were served what was left and did not have any toppings. She blamed the toppings on portion control as they were self serve since she failed to bring the 3rd person with her that she stated that she would be bringing. If that was a portion control issue then why did we not have enough meat to feed our guests since she was serving it? The beans were soupy and cold as well. My mom who paid her in full before the event (big mistake) for her low quality services has tried to reach out to her about our issues and be professional, she was shut down with continued attitude, disrespect and disregard from Angela on taking any responsibility for the fact that she ran out of food for our guests and was extremely rude the whole night. She is refusing any sort of refund and will not take responsibility for her actions as a businesswoman. I would be extremely cautious about hiring her for your catering needs as she cannot handle issues professionally.
