I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. They had fresh tropical fruits, cold drinks, kayaks, and other outdoor recreation items that aren't available at my local Super Walmart in Seattle. Some of the larger items would be a little difficult to haul home, but it was great to see such a wide variety of products geared toward the lake lifestyle. Most Walmart stores carry many of the same everyday items, but this location offers some unique products that make it stand out. If you're visiting Lake Chelan and need supplies, sporting goods, snacks, or just want to browse, this Walmart is definitely worth a stop. You'll likely find exactly what you need--and maybe a few things you didn't know you wanted.

Yesterday was like every of shopping day, I had a full cart long with 4 boxes of kitty litter which are heavy when I heard someone ask if they could help me as I turned around I excpeted to see another customer but it was a new employee, I WAS SHOCKED, STUND EVEN, I had to ask if he was talking to me? he said yes ma'am, and he started loading up my car. Coffee and breakfast supplies amply stocked. It's conveniently located in the center of the small downtown, with plenty of parking, making it easy to obtain all of our weekend needs. It's fun that they also have floaties for beach/lake time, and beach toys. We also found some super-random items, but I guess it truly means there is something there for everyone.

I grabbed six of them, but while looking around I noticed they've got way more to offer: SRF wagyu burgers, house-made jerky, marinated meats, plus a great selection of BBQ sauces, rubs, and hot sauces. The butcher was super friendly and helpful, which sealed the deal. No more walking past--this is officially my new go-to spot for meats and rubs in Chelan. Lake Chelan doesn't have much in terms of high-quality vegetarian or plant-based gourmet options, but Bear Foods was a massively delightful surprise! The store is absolutely PACKED with things that I wanted to look at and take home. I was impressed with how many things they stocked that were items I've only seen online and never seen sold in stored. We took a super long time through the coffee and tea isle and ultimately took a few boxes and tins home with us because their selection was so good. Their cheeses and gourmet snacks area was well stocked, and I could see how some of the vacationing non-locals could keep a business like this afloat even with their considerable prices. I really wanted to go back, but we were in the area for a wedding and our timeline just didn't allow it to happen. Otherwise, I probably would have brought home a lot more of their amazing goodies! Only downside for me was that during our time there, there was a mask mandate, and not a single person working there was masked. I thought that was an odd thing to have despite the state's requirements and especially because they were a grocery store and having significant contact with patrons. They have a small meat department with some good quality of cuts. I've found some excellent quality T-bone steaks at a surprising excellent price. I must have caught a good promotion or sale one day and I'm glad I took advantage because they were mouth watering and chew every little bit off the bone good. Their produce selection is small and can show signs of wilted produce from time to time but most often it's of decent quality. The surprise is their wine and liquor selection. It's got a lot to choose from with quality stuff you might not find in other stores. They have local wines to choose from and some really good specialty vodkas.
