I think that all online reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. I read a lot of the reviews here and I don't think people are being quite fair. That said, Chelsea Ridge could do with a lot of improvements across the board. I would honestly give them a 3.5, so I rounded up to compensate for some of the wild complaints on here. The pricing is unfortunately not all that competitive. I've been here since 2020 and I feel like a 10% hike every year is a bit outrageous. I'll have to side with reviews on the fact that the rent price is really pushing the limits considering a lot of the building features and the amenities are not kept up to date. The tennis court is one of the biggest disappointments - it doesn't seem to be maintained at all. There are large cracks on the court throughout, which really make playing on them unpleasant. The fitness center is a lot smaller than I would like, and there is a lack of ventilation. It really just feels like a fitness room you'd get in a chain hotel. There isn't a lot of space to stretch without getting in other peoples' way. It serves its purpose, but if they increased the space and ventilations, and added a few more machines, I'd feel more comfortable going regularly. The laundry rooms are pretty convenient, I've never had any issues. If anything, I have issues with the tenants who use bleach, which ends up in my load, or don't clean out the lint filters. The actual apartments are clean and spacious. I've had 2 different apartments in my time here, and I moved into both with no issues. The space is really nice, and both apartments has it's own private balcony space. The decor is a bit outdated, but it doesn't bother me too much. To address people's complaints about neighbors and their behavior - this is not something I'd fault management 100% for. If they evicted everyone who had a complaint filed against them, all your neighbor has to do is file a false report and you're out. It's very unfortunate that I've run into many people on the complex who don't respect the grounds, or each other. This is a human issue - people just can't seem to be kind to once another. I can't say that every neighbor I've had has been great - but this is an apartment complex and that's kind of the risk you take renting at any apartment, no? I'm from NYC, I've had so much worse. Most of the neighbors I live adjacent to have been fine. I do wish people would stop speeding in the parking lot - some areas don't have a 'sidewalk' so if I'm taking a walk to the deli or taking out trash, I have to be careful that I don't get hit but someone speeding past a stop sign. I would honestly hate to have kids in this complex for that reason. I also wish people would be more mindful about where they smoke. The smoke can travel upstairs when you do it on your patio. And for people who, for whatever reason, like to smoke in the hallways - any kind of smoke will get absorbed into the carpet and make the hallway reek. This is so inconsiderate to your neighbors. I have had many minor issues with both my apartments - including one Friday night where maintenance came and cut open my bathroom ceiling! He was adamant on stopping the leak, and made sure to wrap it up before midnight. Generally, maintenance is good about coming to fix whatever issues you have. I've only had one less-than-desirable encounter, but I chalked it up to the guy being tired and cranky that day. It's no big deal. My last two apartment complexes, the maintenance people would actually question the validity of my complaints, as if I'm crazy, to avoid coming to look at the apartment. I have no issues with maintenance here, they're overall pretty great. About bugs - I've never had any issues. I've had a spider or three, which is to be expected since we are in the middle of the woods, basically. I had a hornet or wasp issue on my patio one time, and maintenance came right away to deal with it. Likely I'm lucky that I don't have hoarding or dirty neighbors. One issue I had living on the ground floor is the stray cats. I wouldn't mind them as much, but there is no regulations on tenants feeding them, which leads to them being semi aggressive. This lead to them constantly trying to get into my apartment when I had the patio door open - I had to ask for management to replace my screen door due to the damage from the cats scratching it. It's not an issue now that I'm not on the ground floor. If they would stop increasing the rent so much every year, I would renew my lease without question. But as it stands, I may have to find a new place at the end of my lease as I don't think the cost will be worth the apartment after another increase. read more

The only thing that is making this a one star review is the location to the bridge and the deli and liquor store on premises. Otherwise this will be the last place on earth I would spend $2000 a month on rent for. They really have some nerve charging, the price as they charge, and raising them each year for outdated, ugly, and stinky apartments. The walls are paper thin. You can literally hear the neighbor above you peeing in their toilet. All of the other tenants in my building smoke cigarettes, and we had nonstop cigarette smell in our apartment and in the hallway. it is clear people are just sitting in their apartments chain smoking. The floors are extremely creaky and everything is outdated. . The carpet is tan. The doors are tan. The trim is tan. The kitchen is all tan. Everything is very old and depressing Like I said, they really have some nerve charging the price as they do for one and two bedroom apartments when you can spend the same amount of money for an extremely updated And beautiful place elsewhere. It just so happened that this complex was the only one with availability at the time that I needed to make a last minute move. The pictures on the websites are deceiving. Most of the time at the pool in the summertime, wouldn't even have a lifeguard. They clearly had staffing issues, and a maintenance man was just sitting over the pool, instead of a lifeguard. The gym that you see online is laughable in comparison to what you will see in person... Almost every machine is broken or rusty and in operable. The laundry rooms are dirty and the washing machines stink. And the dumpsters are constantly overflowing. It's very clear people that don't live on the property know that they can come and dump trash in these dumpsters. I would witness people at all hours of the day that clearly don't live in our complex just dumping garbage and leaving. When we got the letter of our price increase, I knew we had to find another option. Even if that means a completely different area. Chelsea Ridge should be charging literally half of the price that they charge for the quality of the residence. read more

We lived in Chelsea Ridge apartments for seven years and just moved out, so at this point, I could probably write a book about our experience. The first five years we lived there, we were very happy. We always felt the price was fair. The grounds are kept neat. Nice neighbors. It was a friendly, generally safe neighborhood. We felt like we could've lived there forever. We really did not start to absolutely hate it there until after the pandemic. Before continuing, I want to point out that we never ONCE were late with our rent or had an issues there. We were really great, respectful tenants. The last two years, we started having a lot of major maintenance issues. Our master bedroom would flood almost every single time it rained a lot. Our carpets in the whole house had become so old and worn out (they were not new when we moved in) that they were bubbling up really bad to the point you would trip on it sometimes, the seams were showing all over, and there were areas of the carpet that literally had no carpet fibers left on it. The paint on the ceilings was peeling, probably from the many instances where water would run through our bathroom ceiling. Our entire bathroom vanity was peeling, we assume from the poor ventilation in the bathroom (keep in mind we showered with a fan on, and with the door open). Our back sliding door never really opened and closed well and the handle would constantly fall off. The oven was literally rusting on the outside. They were always tons and tons of bugs in our apartment, assuming from the missing bricks on the outside of the building. The fridge would often have issues with leaking water all over the floor. We even had one instance where we came home to literal sewage flowing out of our toilet, and into our hallway carpet. The overflow was so deep that our bathroom door was warped from being wet and needed to be replaced. They did try to sanitize everything as best they could, but considering this was literally other people's waste and sewage in our home, it felt like a bit of a biohazard as there's no real way to properly sanitize porous grout and wood cabinets and carpeting. With all of this happening over the last fews years, it felt like a disgusting slap in the face to receive an 11% rent increase after COVID. Don't be surprised when they raise your rent every single year. It used to be $30 or $40 a year raise, which we always felt was reasonable, but the last two years it was much much more. It just became far too expensive for the quality of living there. We knew we could live somewhere much nicer for the same price. We are now in a townhome that nearly double the size, with an extra bathroom, bedroom, and a washer/dryer in unit and barely paying more than we were at Chelsea. While we had been so happy there for so many years, it became quite insulting to continue living in a place that had the nerve to continually raise our rent, while we were living in garbage conditions. By the end of the seven years, I was honestly embarrassed to have people over to my house. It felt like we were living in a slum, meanwhile my rent was higher than my friends mortgage payments. I will say, the maintenance crew at Chelsea Ridge is top notch and so under appreciated. They were always so quick to respond to issues to the best of their ability. Very friendly and always did a good job. The office staff was lovely as well. I absolutely got the sense that the upper management really holds these people back from doing their jobs the way they should be done because of money (DHM doesn't want to spend money to actually repair anything, just bandage them up until the next person comes). We will definitely be missing the staff there and it's literally the ONLY thing I'm sad to leave behind a Chelsea Ridge. I totally get that times are tough right now with rentals and you might be feeling desperate to find a home. If you end up renting in Chelsea Ridge, just be prepared for the possibility of a lot of maintenance issues and excessively high rent increases each year read more

To make this short and sweet I moved in July 2016 and renewed my lease once well in that time I've had ant problems which hey their everywhere but also had rat problems big No No for me. On to maintenance their pretty cool and show up but as for the pictures I have up the constant mold in the bathroom is a problem and I figure all they do is paint over it then it comes back. Snow removal is a joke here sidewalks always present a slipping hazard when it snows. On to the best part so I got a non lease renewal which okay fine but after reading the comments I never had the pleasure of speaking with Jessica or Shannon before I've always dealt with Steve or Brittany. And yes what's being said unpleasant unprofessional and rude (Shannon & Jessica) I asked for a reason and got nothing but a attitude. I was late a few times on rent but always paid the fees and never went past a month. But I like to think it has something to do with the fact that they get some kind of commission and being Brittany handled my moving in and no longer working there they're trying get rid of people. So for any potential renters my warning is this I can overlook things but this definitely isn't the place to be plus the garbage on the sidewalks in the mailbox is getting out of control. I even called out a little kid for walking behind the parked cars and tossing the garbage in the grass like the dumpster is right there. If we ever had a problem. We called them and they are usually there the next day or the same day. It depends on the problem. We had one problem we had with maintance. That was we called them up late one night to complain about our loud A/C. They called us back and told us that they would be there the next day. So we stayed home all day that day. No one showed up. We still have the same problem with our A/C. We talked with our neighbors about it. They told us that they can not do anything about that noise. So we never called back. We have very nice neighbors around us. We do own a dog and we do pick up after him. We do not use the dog park because the fence on one side is bend down from one of the big storms we had. Even thou I have a small Chihauhau. He would be able to climb that fence and get loose. I do keep a good eye on him when I do use the dog park. I have meet some wonderful people there that have dogs too. I do have agree with one other person here. That they should not let the people that have parties take up the parking spaces of people that are paying good rent here. I also think that the residents should have assigned parking space ( at least one) If they have a second car. There should be a special place for them to park. I also agree with the loud parties late at night. I think Chelsea should have a Halloween party or parade in the complex for the kids. They should give prizes out for the best customs. I think the kids would really enjoy that. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! I have had nothing but the worst experience living here. I have had the worst bug/pest problem. First off, I am extremely clean. I clean every single day and after any use in the kitchen and bathroom. So when I saw a COCKROACH running across my counter, I was mortified!!! The exterminators are "suppose" to come every Wednesday, but if you actually get them there, not much is done. Because shortly after, my bathroom became infested with little ANTS! The Chelsea Ridge office made us wait a week because the exterminator apparently left by noon on the Wednesday we called. By next Wednesday they gave us another excuse saying the exterminator wouldn't be coming at all because he has to take a test. They refused to send a replacement even though the bathroom floor is COVERED in HUNDREDS of ants. The secretary Jessica, is extremely unpleasant and rude. All she had to say was, "it's not happening today, you're going to have to wait until Friday, there is nothing we can do for you, and if I were you, I would remove them." Tenants are allowed to smoke in their apartments. So my neighbor who is an old man who stays home everyday smoking all day long, has the cigarette smoke seeping through the walls. We've already had maintenance "seal up" our front door and bathroom to prevent the smell from coming through, but yet again, a failed attempt by Chelsea Ridge. Now the entire entrance of the building and stairwell wreaks of cigarettes and every time you open your door to get in your apartment you bring the smell in with you. The laundry machines are an absolute joke. The laundry closest to my building has a broken washer EVERY SINGLE WEEK. When I called to complain to Chelsea Ridge about it, again all Jessica had to say was "it's not our problem, you have to contact the company that services them and they deal with it." WTF!?!? Why would I as the tenant have to call this servicing company to get a COMMUNITY washer fixed for the complex???? Even when the washer and dryers are working, they STAIN and RIP my clothes EVERY SINGLE TIME. Don't even think about washing any light colored clothes in those washers because you will retrieve them with these big grey dirty stains all over them. The mail man continually is throwing away our mail in the bin below the mailboxes. At first, it was just everyone's penny savers, magazines, and coupons he would throw away. But recently I have been finding my mail even from banks thrown in the bin along with whatever else he is dropping in there. I have lived in CHEAPER apartments before Chelsea Ridge and have never had as many problems as I do living here. Also want to note that I had to sign up and create a Yelp account just to write this review. But I did it because that's how fed up I am with this DISGUSTING and PATHETIC establishment! read more

These people are bloodsucking leaches. They want you to hire a professional to shampoo the carpets before you leave and you have to show a receipt for it, otherwise they will withhold your desposit! Also, make sure you read the lease VERY carefully before signing, since my husband and I are getting screwed over by not giving them 60 days notice on our 60 day short term renewal lease. How does that make any sense?? Also, we have a neighbor that plays obnoxiously loud music. They don't do anything about it other than send stupid notices to her. Last time I checked, there was a clause in the lease that entitles me to"Peaceful Enjoyment" ie no loud noises. Finally, if you have a bug problem (we had a bee's nest on our balcony) be prepared to live with it for weeks. The exterminator only comes once a week and when he comes, he doesn't even take care of the situation properly. read more

This place is a rip off and the people in the Managment office are rude, unprofessional, and very crappy people. You pay all this rent and they charge for all these "extra amenities" that you can't even enjoy with your family. You have to pay $10 for each person to get into the pool and then kids under 5 are free but over they aren't. We tried going in with 2 guests and a kid but he is 6 and they called the pool to tell the person working there to not let us in. This place is a joke honestly. I will try my best to summarize my last 2 years at Chelsea. When my family moved in we had neighbor issues right away. The woman who live in our apartment previously came 2 days after we moved in to warn us, I wish I had her name so I could send her a big fat letter telling her how right she was! The gentleman downstairs basically told us never to use our washing machine (that we pay extra to have in the apartment monthly) because it's loud, and he likes it quiet. Shortly after we moved in the office started receiving noise complaints about us. As soon as I would try to run the wash our lovely downstairs neighbor would call the office, and even had the nerve to call the police. And say we were playing loud music. (Which was not the case at all, he is just a bothered miserable old man). Eventually my husband spoke to him and told him enough was enough. The electrical system is a mess. We had maintenance come time after time to repair faulty outlets that constantly caught fire, even when nothing was plugged into the outlet. This scared the crap out of me so I always made sure to unplug every appliance when not in use. Certainly not normal at all. Besides, the outlets all seem to be loose, when you plug something in, it tends to fall right out of the socket a few minutes later. On to another issue, Chelsea is always changing owners ship. It went from Solomon to Dawn Homes this past year. With that, came some new issues. Snow removal. The old team that kept up with our snow removal was pretty great. They always made sure the sidewalks were clear, and spots were plowed. Winter of 2016/2017 was the dumps. Days after snow stopped there were no spaces, and cars were lined up in the middle of the roadway. People fell on sidewalks due to lack of salting. It was aweful. I made sure to take pictures for my records. Pets. There is a pet policy here, you can have certain breeds of dogs, and there is also a weight limit. Great. I don't own any animals so I never had any issues, until my fabulous neighbor downstairs decided I did. My brother dropped off 2 small dogs one day for me to watch for a few hours. Well, as soon as the neighbor downstairs saw me with 2 puppies outside he immediately called the office and said I had pitbulls in my apartment and was letting them pee and poop in front of his window. (I wish I'd have thought of it because I just might have let them do it). The pups (who happen to be a beagle and a Boston terrier) were in my possession for less than 4 hours before they went home. The office had come to take pictures of me walking the dogs and sent me threatening letters about owning a pitbull. I really had to LOL at the fact that you'd mistake a Boston terrier for a pitbull, but ok. I explained to the office the situation and told them I didn't own any animals, I did dog sit for a few hours and invited them to my home to take a look. They still had he nerve to send two more letters weeks later that saying I owed them a pet deposit and that the neighbor is complaining my dogs are pooping on the sidewalk. What dogs ?!?!?! There is ALWAYS poop on the sidewalks, roadway, grass because people that live here do NOT pick up after there dogs. Another huge red flag is the office personnel. Shannon, and Jessica are awful. Down right rude and miserable people. They make false claims against residents, and do not properly investigate situations that need to be addressed. You can basically call to "report" something (which they strongly encourage) and instead of speaking with the resident they start with threats regardless of having any facts. Example: a bunch of children were playing in an empty apartment at the opposite end of my building. Office member Jessica, had the nerve to state my son was definitely one of them since that's what she "heard". First, my son doesn't leave my sight, second, he's not allowed to hang out with the neighborhood trouble makers, and last but not least he wasn't even home the day it happened ! So go figure. But don't you dare provide proof that the office is wrong because they hold grudges. I refused to be bullied. Seriously, the pipes break in the development at LEAST 2 to 3 times a year. Leaving most residents with no water or brown / black water. When they break, they post it on their Facebook page. If a resident expresses concern, first they reply in the comments with snarky little remarks, then if they are called out on it again they delete it. It's so unprofessional but you can't help but chuckle. This place is a complete joke. I understand price wise some may find this place appealing, but beware. If you still choose to live here, be a hermit crab. If you have kids, your automatically a target for complaints..... & I hope they place you in a building that's semi civilized and not a party house with loud music, weed smell drifting in your windows at 1am, parking lot arguments, and neighbors with dogs that bark 24/7. How gross that you have to even give something one star when it doesn't deserve it. I agree 100% with what the previous person said in their review (Naureen A.). All of the same things happened to us when we needed to move out. They suck every dollar they can from you, don't offer solutions to problems (neighbor noise, BBQs on porches, decorations & plants on fire escapes, smelly carpeting, bees in your home, stink bugs, filthy hallways & stairwells, lazy cleaning staff that comes by the apartments to take all the coupons that the Post Man brings but doesn't clean...) & just plain 'ho-hum' through their jobs. After Solomon took over the maintenance got minimally better, but sometimes you'll call their phone line after hours & no one will answer as they're supposed to & there is no voice mail. A lot of 'we're sorry you had a bad experience here' but not a lot in writing when it comes to getting your security deposit back. READ YOUR LEASE CAREFULLY BUT DO NOT EXPECT THE RULES TO APPLY THE SAME TO EACH LEASER. If you have a business on the property, you will get special treatment. Unbelievably low standards for the people they allow to live there. Would you like your children to live next door to a man who has a domestic abuse conviction? Because that will absolutely happen. Be prepared for rent to be raised EVERY YEAR (happened each of the 3 years we lived there) $50-75 each time. Definitely don't forget that carpet cleaning receipt, which they have you provide even if they intend to replace the crappy, dirty, Berber carpeting - so you waste $100+ of your own $ in addition to the potential loss of your security deposit. I cannot urge enough people to STOP leasing with Solomon & ESPECIALLY at Chelsea Ridge. Their practices are low-brow at best & although most of their office staff is polite, they sure need to work on following up their verbal conversations in writing. Excuse me for my lack of surprise in losing all of our security deposit & owing them $ on top of it. Figures. DON'T LEASE HERE. EVER. Unless, of course, you enjoy State Troopers & full on Swat Team presence in the complex handling one of your neighbors. read more

Now that I am a relieved and joyful previous renter at that terrible Chelsea Ridge Apartments, I write this to warn other people. The management sucks and are a bunch of the most heartless people I have ever met. The worst is Shannon! They are a bunch of blood sucking leaches that will try to take all of your money. Yet when your apartment has an issue don't count on them for anything, if you get a returned phone call back you are lucky! It got to be a living hell there and I walked out. The laundry room is disgusting, the people that live there are low life people. The management raises your rent every year and it only gets worse! Don't ever move there. I agree and disagree with previous reviews. I have been in this complex for 4 years now. Maintenance is great, 1 call to them and they respond. I have had a microwave replaced, a new air conditioner and wood replaced on my deck. I have never had an issue with the maintenance in this complex. The grounds are well kept and maintained weekly. People do not always clean up after their animals, but that is due to the tenant.... not the management co. The tenants have to be responsible as well, with their animals, their decks, their personal cleanliness. Management puts doggie garbage bags out within this complex, and people should use them. If a person is caught not picking up, they should be fined. It is in your lease to clean up after your animal. I do have a dog, and clean up every time he goes out. I do not particularly enjoy it, but I clean it up, everyone should. Yes, until Fathers Day 2016 there had been a serious issue with outsiders being allowed into the pool, I have personally witnessed this for a long time. The first day of this summer there was party at the pool with over 50 people that did not belong in this complex. Absolute disgrace, but since...... this problem has been resolved, the grills were taken out of the pool area, and it seems to have resolved this issue. The apartments are very clean when you move into them. I am not sure what the previous reviewer experienced, but that is not an issue. If there are any problems with non working outlets, fans, etc.... the maintenance team will come and change that. Things work both ways, tenants have to have a little pride in their surroundings, including their vehicles. When they do not...... the management company is then looked at....as not doing their jobs. This complex has over 800 units and it is hard to control that many families and hope people do the right thing about where they live. On the other hand if people have chronic problems regarding loud music, parties all night, people having overnight guests and taking up all the spots in the parking lot, this should be addressed by the management team. Hard working people should not have to live with that noise, the rents are not that cheap and these problems should be handled immediately. I have personally not experienced out of control issues here, but do know that it happens (like with any complex this size). People that write these reviews should be fair and honest with what happens here. I have found that the management company here does try to make people happy. There are events monthly that the complex pays for. I heard the other day, ice cream was given out at the pool area, the complex pays for that, along with an event they have each year...a pool cookout for all the tenants....The Complex provides this. If you check the entrances of each building you can read the monthly events. This does not have to be done, this is their choice. I think for the most part, the tenants that don't follow rules, are the reason for the unhappiness of others. Call the police if you have issues with parties, noise etc. When you move in, you should request knowing exactly which apartment you are going into, and go to the area before you sign the lease. Also, when you move in, you are given a check list to write down all the problems in the apartment you see, you are then suppose to bring it back to the office. They will address these issues as they did with my apt. Yes, you do have to shampoo your carpet before you leave, I moved from one apt to another, and have known people who have moved out. I guess that if everyone has to do it, it will guarantee a clean carpet for the next person moving in. Not sure if I agree with this rule, but it is across the board for everyone to follow. Yes your lease does increase with every new year. That is true of any complex. Is that not expected? I do not work for this management company, nor do I have relatives or friends that work for them, I am just a tenant that has been here, met and spoke with other tenants, gone to the pool, and gone to some events, walked my dog, so I have an open mind to the truth and non truth. If you pay your rent on time, you will not have any monetary issues with Chelsea Ridge, hopefully they will do the right thing by everyone that lives here. read more

DO NOT MOVE IN THESE APPOINTMENTS!!!!! They are not luxury apartments at alllllll!!!! All these hidden fees they are what you call beat artist! The apartments are so out dated you can hear your upstairs neighbors every move and steps and sometimes their conversations. They have cheap everything! If I could post picture I would! STAY AWAY WORST PLACE TO RENT FROM. I feel the Chelsea Ridge management does not follow the law, was unethical, uses bait and switch tactics, is malicious, spiteful and uses bad faith, and has willfully tried to extort more money from me. While in the process of renting the unit, they were very secretive, they would not give me the unit number due to the concern that I would go knock on the door of the residing tenant, and find out the truth about the noise, the maintenance, and the quality of the apartment. By the time you get to see the apartment, on your move in date, it is too late to do anything about it. They show you a clean well maintain unit that is not even close to the condition of your unit. During my stay at Chelsea Ridge I encountered multiple problems, that I complained to the landlord, but repeatedly nothing was being done about it. They are: The apartment permeated an odor of cigarette smoke, my asthma, which was in remission, and was re-exacerbated, I started having breathing problems again. Tenant up stairs had a small dog that would bark constantly threw the day and night. People will squeal the tires and rev engines in the middle of the night. Things would not get fixed in the apartment, they would be ignored or a message would be left saying the item was back ordered, some of them were from the first day I moved in. One of the step on the stairs, in the common entrance was broken. The common entryway was always filthy. When the furnace that heated the entire building kicked in, the noise and vibration would permeate my apartment, the other units were not as affected. I did not feel safe living in the unit or that it was habitable, and I feel the landlord misrepresented the unit, a bait and switch. They did not fulfill the implied warranty of habitability, being able to maintain the unit in proper working order, and allowed me a covenant of a quiet enjoyment, to be able to live in a healthy, quite, clean, peaceful environment. Having experience all of the above, and only being home for one or two days, since I traveled and worked out of State, I therefore spoke with an agent at the leasing office, and was told that, I need to give them 3 months notice, which I did, and I would be out of my lease. I paid rent for the next 3 months and moved out after 2 months. After I moved out, I was never notified of what happened to my security deposit, I just figured it was the cost of breaking my lease. Six months later, I am notified by a collection agency that I still owe money to Chelsea Ridge, which was a total surprise to me. I feel the Chelsea Ridge management does not follow the law, was unethical, uses bait and switch tactics, is malicious, spiteful and uses bad faith, and has willfully tried to extort more money from me. read more

I would not recommend this place for a long time rental. I sold my house and needed a place to live for one year before moving south. I think it's a crap shoot as to whether or not you get an apartment that has quiet tenants or not. I happen to luck out in that area. I live on Canterbury Lane and my neighbors are all very nice and there are no kids in my building. There are 3 dogs but all are quiet including mine. There are many things that I can complain about .... people do not clean up after their pets and there is goose poop all over the place too. The charge of $65 more a month to have a washing machine/dryer in the apartment is ridiculous. First of all the washer and so called dryer does not dry your clothes at all. And when using the machine the entire apartment shakes as if there is an earthquake. So I am paying $65 a month more for something that I don't even use. The common hall is always filthy so I vacuum it myself. I had my daughter and 2 grandchild visiting so I had to go to the office to pay for guest passes for the pool and you had to pay with a check and they did not accept cash. Very inconvient. Who the heck does not accept cash? They need to get a better policy and have somebody collecting the money by the pool and checking membership. There are days that I went to the pool and could not get a chair. As far as maintenance goes I have not really had a problem. My microwave did not work and they came and replaced it within 2 days. I like the convenience of the deli and pizza and liquor store being right in the complex. As with any large complex you are going to have some people who take pride in where they live and others who just don't care about anything and trash the place. I never had a problem with parking on Canterbury Lane. I'm not sure how the other streets are. I would rate the place as just o.k. read more

For the amount of the rent, you'd expect this place to be much nicer! The apartments are shoddily patched together to give the illusion of being 'updated' when you move in. After 3 months, paint started chipping and cracks underneath appeared. The paneling in the bathroom started to fall apart the first month. If we try to use our microwave, it trips the circuit breaker. Therefore we cannot use our microwave without knocking out all of the power in the apartment. As if that weren't enough, the management completely suck!. They are the rudest, most ineffectual sh**heads I've ever encountered in a rental situation. They claim to be pet friendly, however, I've been harassed with letters from the moment we moved in because my neighbor is a heartless old coot that hates animals and children. We were even cited for using a miniature grill outside. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Do yourself a favor and get an apartment elsewhere. Our lease expires in 2 months and we're out of here. read more

My fiancé and I have been living at Chelsea Ridge for the past two years and we've had a great experience overall. The staff has been super helpful since day one with everything-Jessica, Ann, Veronica-just to name a few I can think of right now. Maintenance is quick and easy when having to deal with things in that area. We've never had a time where any issue or concern we've had was not taken care of/handled in a timely manner. Our apartment is the perfect size for us and our dog. This being a dog-friendly complex was very important to us and I was able to socialize our dog when we first adopted her with the dog park conveniently located inside the complex. We've had friendly, hard-working, and *quiet* neighbors in our building! The amenities in the complex have been a great perk for us in our time living here-pool, clubhouse activities, on site gym, as I said the dog park, and much more. We also enjoyed the conveniences of having the dry cleaner in the development who picked up and delivered our dry cleaning at no extra charge, and the other stores in the Chelsea Ridge mall being right there was nice. Overall, we've had a positive experience here and I really would recommend to anyone considering Chelsea ridge to move here, and you will not be disappointed! read more

I'm very surprised with the previous reviews as I have just renewed my lease for another year. Yes, every large complex has its problems but in my opinion the pros of living here far outweigh the cons. Any maintenance issue I have had has been resolved quickly and they are even available to upgrade anything that is approved by the maintenance supervisor. I had them install a lighted ceiling fan in my bedroom. I was in a small (500 sq. ft.) one bedroom with one closet in Westchester and was paying a lot more than I am here with none of the amenities offered here (pool, fitness center, clubhouse, beauty salon, dry cleaners, liquor store and a great deli/pizza/grocery store). My one bedroom here is almost twice the size, 3 very ample closets, a spacious bathroom with shelving, a huge bedroom and living room, A very nice kitchen with dishwasher and microwave and a nice dining area, plus a very nice balcony! The management posts a monthly calendar of activities in the common area above the mailboxes and there's something for everyone. My biggest complaint is irresponsible tenants that do not pick up after their pets. Yes, this is a pet friendly development with a dog park, pet stations throughout the development with a supply of bags and waste disposal receptacles.
