As well as the Catholic education, does not teach you that God loves everyone, they teach that there are rules to it and that you must live exactly by his plan and that he is unforgiving. This school is the reason I am no longer Catholic. Their theology is meant for seminarians not high school students struggling with their faith.

My son is a new student at Emerson this year. After several lackluster years in one of the top…read moreAAPS elementary schools, we knew we had to try something different, before he became completely disengaged from learning and school altogether. We have had an amazing experience at Emerson. My son's teacher is creative and funny -- she keeps the material engaging and challenging while presenting it from many different angles to meet different learning styles. The class sizes are small - limited to 20 kids. Students learn a foreign language, have lots of time in computer lab working with an IT instructor, a great hands-on science program where the kids are doing experiments in the lab, a phenomenal music program, and many other kinds of enrichment that you just don't get in public schools. You pay for it, of course, but so far, we have not regretted a single penny. The real payback for us is that our son is happy to go to school again for the first time in two years. That has probably less to do with all the bells and whistles and more to do with making my son and every kid feel that they are understood, recognized, and appreciated as a unique individual, which Emerson seems especially good at.

They were hands down everything we wanted for our children. OCS has a wonderful parent/teacher and parent/administration relationship. We are so pleased with the concern and care that is taken with each child and their gifts, abilities and needs. We love the family involvement that is created, without pressure, but by far beneficial. There is a concern to not just build great students, but great families as well. There is nothing more reassuing than knowing that our kids are being loved on and taught by ones who truly love our Savior and who desire our kids to know and love Him as well. OCS has an amazingly gifted staff which provides opportunities for the students that go beyond just every day learning. Education is more than just academics, OCS, by God's great provision is producing, wonderful students on academic, spiritual, athletic, musical and technological levels. We consider it a privilege to be a part!
