If I had this closeby, I would come back often. It's such a step up from Pike's Landing and maybe the best food we had in Fairbanks. The food is pricey but we are coming from NY, so it's actually cheaper than where we come from for the portion size. We came here around 4pm and there were plenty of seats. It comes with warm bread rolls, which have a sweetness to them. Delicious although it hardens once cooled. We had the scallops dinner and the smoked salmon pasta. Both were great. It comes with a soup or salad and we elected for the clam chowder, which was good. They gave us 8 scallops, a whole bunch of nicely seasoned vegetables, and yellow rice. These sides can be done poorly but these were great with crisp texture for veggies. The pasta was a little bland I first thought until I tasted it with the smoked salmon and man, does it blend well together. There was so much that we took some home. read more

Overall it was a really nice experience almost like some Twilight dream I think we arrived at like 11:00 or 11:30 at night and stayed until close which is like 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning it was the middle of Alaskan Summer so it was broad daylight. The hot springs overall were amazing it was a little bit odd that there were ducks in some of the water and the sulfur was definitely a bit smelly but it was a very nice feeling on your skin. I would recommend taking off your smartwatch because my Garmin has been acting up since I think the sulfur interacted with some of the areas where the charging and data cables connect. You can rent a locker and towels when you're on site they also have two hot tubs and a pool that are not sulfur if you want to do those. It's definitely a fun experience to check out if you're in the area. read more

The restaurant at Chena Hot Springs is excellent! It's incredibly warm and cozy, the perfect place to take a break from the freezing cold outside. The service was truly spectacular. Our waiter (I forgot his name, but he had only been there for a week) was so attentive and friendly; even though he was still learning the menu, he made sure to ask and double-check everything to give us the best recommendations. The food was amazing, with exquisite flavors and fair prices for the portion sizes. While the cocktails were a bit underwhelming, the waiter sent us off with a delicious spiked herbal tea that really warmed us up for our Northern Lights hunt! The atmosphere is beautiful and authentic, with a classic Alaska style and taxidermy. I would definitely eat here again. read more

Their food can be very expensive here. But I got the beef pho soup $28 and hot apple cider $4. The price is ok. The pho is a huge portion. It is not too authentic but it tastes pretty good. Service is slow. I feel like the bar tender is also the waitress for half of the restaurant. So service wise, it's a bit slow. But she's nice and try to attend to everyone. We stayed two nights in the Fox Room at Chena Hot Springs Resort. We took the shuttle up from the train station. Our shuttle driver, Robin, was absolutely fantastic and made the long journey especially enjoyable. We got in late the first night and stayed up to watch the Northern Lights. The activity center stays open and there is an area out by the runway that offers a good view. The room was very hot our entire stay, and the bathroom was really musty smelling. However, we enjoyed our stay and just viewed it as an adult summer camp adventure. The hot springs were fabulous. There are spots of varying degrees of heat, so everyone can find the perfect temperature for themselves. The locker room is large, and has showers. Lockers require quarters. We took the ice museum tour and had a great time. We opted for the Appletinis, which came in a glass made of ice. We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, and stopped in on our way out for coffee on our last morning. Each time, the service was exceptional. The restaurant staff were all extremely friendly and attentive, regardless of how busy they were. The property offers a lot of activities to participate in, some free, some require a fee. We visited the dog kennel and pet several of the dogs, they were all very sweet. There are also duck ponds and lots of areas to just sit and relax. The activity center staff are helpful providing activity information and maps. read more

The hot springs were the highlight for me--very relaxing and a good variety of heat, depending on where I wandered. Lots of great resting spots on the boulders when it got too hot. The staff was friendly and helpful. We also visited the ice museum (one can spend the night in 22 degrees for $600. It was a fun experience with a wonderful guide in Matthew. One can also sip on an apple martini for $20 and keep the ice glass. I highly recommend--we didn't have time to enjoy the rest of the many activities, but they looked fun. The grounds were beautiful. A friend and I stayed here for a visit to Fairbanks. We stayed in the main lodge and had a very pleasant stay. I don't really know what all the complaints were about. The wireless worked fine - sure it didn't work ~everywhere on the property when you were away from buildings but really that's to be expected. The rooms are warm with no temperature control, but the windows open so if you open the window for a little while, especially if the room has been closed up all day things were perfectly comfortable. I had no complaints with our stay the room was just fine. We ate at the restaurant for our stay and it was fine. Nothing amazing, but the servers were all very pleasant and they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions. It does seem to be much improved from the prior reviews. Note that we came to see the aurora and didn't venture into the hot springs itself so I can't comment on that! read more

So we mainly came here for the ice museum which I thought was pretty cool. But if you go make sure you wear pants and shoes and bring your jacket even tho they provide jackets. Because it was 22 degrees and lemme tell you 35 minutes in that will make anyone cold. However it was pretty awesome to see the structures they built and if you are truly brave and have 600 to spare you can also spend the night in which case you have access to the whole museum. Just no funny business lol. I think this is definitely a place to take the kiddos just bundle them up. And for the adults for an extra $20 you can also enjoy an apple martini in your very own hand crafted Ice martini glass. Yours to keep lol The hot spring was well a hot spring smelled of sulfur and the people swinging in it looked happy as a clam. Won't catch me in there tho! They offer snowmobiles in The winter and atv in the summer. All around kinda cool place read more

My friends and I stayed here for the duration of our Fairbanks trip and it was overall a pleasant stay! We chose the Bear Family Cabin which provided a lot of space and most everything you would need. The downside was that there was no cell service (WiFi, reception) at all in the actual cabin. You had to go out of the building and into the snow or to the main lodge or activity room in order to get any WiFi whatsoever. Sadly, the TV in our room was faulty and most of the channels were quite grainy. Also, I highly recommend bringing bottled water if you're planning on staying here... trust me. Ate at the restaurant twice, breakfast and dinner. The food was good but a bit on the pricier side. For breakfast, I got the Big Chena which came with eggs, bacon and either potatoes and toast or a single blueberry pancake. I would go for the potatoes and toast if I were to do it again, but the meal was hearty and tasty. For dinner, I decided to go big and got the Alaskan King Crab Legs. It's definitely a shareable meal - I got full about halfway through and I can eat a good amount of crab legs! The hot springs was definitely a unique experience, especially since there was snow all around! Definitely bring a swimsuit and flip flops/swim shoes if you're planning on going to the hot springs. Check in with Jordan on the first night we arrived was wonderful. He was so friendly and lovely and set the tone of our stay. Overall, the stay was nice and the resort is definitely quite the experience! I would be curious to stay up here during the summer when it's not snowing. Booked our tour through Get Your Guide. The process of booking was easy and also easy to reschedule if needed. The tour guide called us when he was at the lobby and was right on time. From our hotel the resort was an hr away which was not a bad drive. Now the tour, the tour we had the ice museum done first which was cool, its a small museum so easy to finish in about 15min. I just didnt like how they cramped two big groups in there so it made it hard to go around and take pics. Also, the tour was expected to be an hr long before we go to dinner which the wait ate up the time we could be going to the hot springs. The dinner was okay, it was busy so it took time to get the order, food and check. The hot springs was the most fun part of the tour. It was super dark by the time we got to go but it was a really cool experience! Sad part was the weather was cloudy and rainy so there was no way to see the northern lights if it was active. Overall it was a good tour, the only thing was the directions were not too clear and at times felt like it wasnt as organize, specially after the ice museum, a few of us wanted to get out early and felt like we disnt know where to go. There was a waitlist when we got to the restaurant. The front desk indicated the wait time was about 20 minutes. However my friend and I did not get a table for another hour. The staff were friendly with us, but the service was slow. The restaurant has a rustic charm, with the hanging antler and sled among others. I ordered a burger with fries and thought the food was decent. I particularly enjoyed the fries as they were soft with a crispy skin and are not soggy and oily. read more

What a great location but the service was not that great. There is one sit down restaurant on the facility. They are truly the only game in town. The next closest is Fairbanks. They can have up to two plus hours to wait. Jose the greeter is extremely rude stating if you are not right in front when he calls your number you are out. No electronic number system to allow you to not sit there. There was no sense that they were sorry at all for the inconvenience. No cell coverage at this remote location. But that is expected. The facility provides WiFi but the weakest WiFi I have experienced. If you provide WiFi make it the best WiFi. On the positive, we had a great crew that took us out to see the Aurora Borealis, amazing, the kennels, dog sled ride and Ice Museum were great and reasonably priced. The hot springs was well maintained. Again the facilities are amazing and views are great. The theme amongst the staff is that the owner does everything on the cheap. read more

Getting to the hot springs was about 1.5 hours from Fairbanks. The cost was $90pp one way. Nothing much to see along the way. Once there we got to our room which was very rustic and nothing to write home about. We got in our bathing suits and hit the hot spring. Temperature outside was in the teens but the water was a warm to hot 104. The hot spring was the highlight. You could also do several other activities. Regardless of what others have said, the food was surprisingly good and plentiful. I had the burger with a side salad and it was delicious. The side salad was enormous. My wife had a large salad as well and couldn't finish it all. For breakfast we had the pancakes, chena potatoes, creamed beef, and eggs over easy. Again, plentiful and delicious. It is a bit pricey but well worth the extra money. read more

The prices here went up quite a bit if you are going here just for the hot springs don't waste your time unless you intend to spend the night the rooms the hot springs and the towels are included the food at the restaurant is expensive and it is to be expected in the best restaurant in the area. If they the service is average but it's because they are understaffed. The rooms were too hot it felt like the heat was stuck on. But the events and outings are worth the prices. All in all if the prices were a little lower and they had more staff then this places would of gotten 5 stars but the view hot springs and the quality of the food earns it the 4 stars read more
