Alaska Coffee Roasting

Stopped for lunch, grabbing a couple of pizzas and deserts (cupcake and cookie). We found the pizzas to be fairly average. The cupcake was moist and cookie hard...but we enjoyed it after heating it up a bit. The dining area was a bit crowded, service cordial, and the food came out fast.

This establishment was our go to spot. Very good espresso and baked goods. We would walk in but there is a drive through.

The service is fast, the environment gives college study vibes and the food meets. The scones are the best. Perfectly moist, buttery and sweetened with white icing. Definitely a must try. The spiced chia is nothing special, very milky with a light hint of vanilla, not very strong in spice. The breakfast burritos was ok. There wasn't much favor as I expected there to be. Taste more like black beans and cilantro with no spice. The eggs are ground up making it feel more like a paste then scrambled. Overall I would go back again to try different desserts and pizzas that they offer.

Nice ambience. Good selection with a variety of sandwiches and rolls and foods. Pastries are gigantic and quite good! Super friendly staff as well. Cinnamon Roll, once warmed up, was delicious! Gooey and soft on the inside. That giant Walnut Sticky Bun is a behemoth; and I'll try it next time. Reindeer Pocket was filling and quite nice with sausage and eggs inside. Highly recommend this busy, popular and worthwhile place!

Most of these stars come from their quality of food, but the wait is insane. The coffee is above average, and the variety of foods is excellent. This trip our family ordered a mocha, a Kosher Dog, 2 massive Chocolate Chip Cookies, and a Spinach Tomato Quiche slice. We also got a couple bags of whole beans. Everything tasted great but I think there should be some kind of expedited process for in-house ordering. It's very frustrating. Other than that, there's a very large selection of bakery items here, like fancy eclairs, and iced cinny rolls the size of your head. It's all very pretty and tempting.

I'm sure the coffee is delicious here, as the drink menu looked solid, and there were a number of patrons in the dining room and people ordering out during our visit. However, we wanted to try the famous reindeer pocket! We liked the dough used for the pocket, but the stuffing tasted fair at best. We did not have any expectations and found the reindeer sausage to taste like a regular hot dog. For the price of it, it was unimpressive. On a positive note, the drinks here looked good, the service is friendly, and there is a hometown feel about Alaska Coffee Roasting. There is an intimate dining room with reusable silverware, a television, and a variety of persons here. You'll also find fun decor within! Come for the vibes and drinks!

Very impressed a coffee roaster has one of the best pizzas in town! My coworker brought us back a coffee and a delicious pizza. I loved the thin crust and fire taste. I will definitely go in person and try the cafe. Definitely recommend trying this place. Prices are good for what you get.

Always looking for coffee shops when traveling and got lucky I came across this gem! First all the employees are all very very friendly and helpful. The drinks and food were also perfect as you can see by the pics! Great ambiance with a cozy atmosphere also perfect for a cold fall day! Give this place a chance and you won't be disappointed.

Cream brûlée

My mocha has a burnt taste to it. The cream brûlée was ok. At least they took the effort to burn the top layer before serving it. The shop looks cute at the counter area, but they could definitely upgrade the seating area a bit. The tables and chairs make it look like a McDonald restaurant.

A plethora of coffee beans...

My husband had a normal breakfast sandwich, and I had a gluten-free one. We were comparing the textures and consistencies, and they looked pretty close. Best gluten-free ciabatta I've ever had, though I've never had gluten-free ciabatta before lol. Texture was soft and fluffy, and didn't fall apart in your hands as you were eating it. Coffee and Matcha were very tasty, but slightly not warm enough. Overall, a great experience though. I ended up buying a couple of pastries to go, which all were gluten-free. There was a large selection in their Bakery case of all gluten-free items. Some dairy free Options too. One of the pastries I ended up taking back home with me to Florida and it held up. It was an almond cake. Though I had it in my bag and it completely fell apart. It was still super soft and delicious several days later! Definitely the spot to go if you are gluten-free!

Definitely go to this place even if you don't normally eat gluten free food!

The lady at the window (with the drawn eyebrows) taking my order said "there are 7 cars behind you." I totally understand this urgency because I also work at a small takeout breakfast restaurant- we are 9 times out of 10 working understaffed and I too take orders, but do so with manners and kindness. Anywho, I felt rushed and got my drink. The drink was good though and my food was alright. Next time I will be stopping at Starbucks because I'm sure they will give me better service and respect!

We also ordered a caramel macchiato and a plain black coffee. If you are dining in, they do offer a refillable mug and you can get up to three free refills. The drinks came out pretty quick and to be honest, we were very disappointed. The caramel macchiato tasted medicinal and the black coffee didn't taste like coffee at all. It put quite the damper on what to expect for food if our drinks were this bad. Our food came out shortly after we got our drinks. However, the baguette sandwich wasn't anything to write home about. It was dense and pretty dry. The bagel sandwich on the other hand exceeded my expectations. I didn't have high hopes especially after having the coffee and trying the baguette sandwich, but the bagel was perfection. The cheddar on the bagel was toasted and crushed to perfected, the cheese, egg, and veggie combo was fluffy and gooey. My husband agreed that the bagel sandwich was definitely worth it and would come back for. Customer service was nice, everything came out very promptly and fairly quickly. There is quite a bit of tables inside with a variety of high and low chairs and felt very cozy.

The people who run this place are putting out some very bad, judgemental, shitty energy. The party I arrived with all purchased and paid for their items separately. After we left, we discussed our experience and we agreed that my feeling was not isolated. I ordered last and got some items to consume on site and a half dozen of bagels to go. I let the cashier know Id let their help chosing, but I would like to include a Rosemary Salt and to exclude sweet bagels such as Raisin. She confirmed my order. When I got home, I had no Rosemary and TWO Raisin. In hindsight I'm sure it was spite. She just seemed like that kind of person (mean girl, anyone?) Since I told her I was from Anchorage she knew there was nothing I could do about it. I gave her a good tip. WTF?!?! As a business owner that is just another D move. I hope she gets a flat tire when its -35 and whoever she calls for help doesnt answer her call.
