I was so excited to try this coffee cafe and wish I could give it 4 stars but it was so inconsistent. The first time we went, our food was served chilled even though we were dinning in, maybe we should've asked to have it warmed, but we weren't given the option and I wasn't aware I needed to ask for warm food if we were eating in. Then my hot mocha that I was so excited for came out chilled, which I'm not sure how, because it had frothed foam on it, but it was cold- when I say cold, I mean chilled- like condensation producing chilled with Luke warm froth. They did remake it, it was still chilled. And service was soooooo slow. It took forever. The coffee was decent. It might've been great if it was the right temperature. The second time we went, it was still slow but the counter help was much more helpful, attentive, and I watched her serve several hot meals while we waited for our goods. It was still a little slow but the service was much better and the coffee was hot. So 2 stars our first time & 4 our second. I hope they get it together because there's a lot of potential and locally owned coffee shops are something we all live for!!! read more

The service is fast, the environment gives college study vibes and the food meets. The scones are the best. Perfectly moist, buttery and sweetened with white icing. Definitely a must try. The spiced chia is nothing special, very milky with a light hint of vanilla, not very strong in spice. The breakfast burritos was ok. There wasn't much favor as I expected there to be. Taste more like black beans and cilantro with no spice. The eggs are ground up making it feel more like a paste then scrambled. Overall I would go back again to try different desserts and pizzas that they offer. read more

Nice ambience. Good selection with a variety of sandwiches and rolls and foods. Pastries are gigantic and quite good! Super friendly staff as well. Cinnamon Roll, once warmed up, was delicious! Gooey and soft on the inside. That giant Walnut Sticky Bun is a behemoth; and I'll try it next time. Reindeer Pocket was filling and quite nice with sausage and eggs inside. Most of these stars come from their quality of food, but the wait is insane. The coffee is above average, and the variety of foods is excellent. This trip our family ordered a mocha, a Kosher Dog, 2 massive Chocolate Chip Cookies, and a Spinach Tomato Quiche slice. We also got a couple bags of whole beans. Everything tasted great but I think there should be some kind of expedited process for in-house ordering. It's very frustrating. Other than that, there's a very large selection of bakery items here, like fancy eclairs, and iced cinny rolls the size of your head. It's all very pretty and tempting. read more

I'm sure the coffee is delicious here, as the drink menu looked solid, and there were a number of patrons in the dining room and people ordering out during our visit. However, we wanted to try the famous reindeer pocket! We liked the dough used for the pocket, but the stuffing tasted fair at best. We did not have any expectations and found the reindeer sausage to taste like a regular hot dog. For the price of it, it was unimpressive. On a positive note, the drinks here looked good, the service is friendly, and there is a hometown feel about Alaska Coffee Roasting. There is an intimate dining room with reusable silverware, a television, and a variety of persons here. You'll also find fun decor within! Come for the vibes and drinks! read more

My mocha has a burnt taste to it. The cream brûlée was ok. At least they took the effort to burn the top layer before serving it. The shop looks cute at the counter area, but they could definitely upgrade the seating area a bit. The tables and chairs make it look like a McDonald restaurant. read more

I'm not a muffin person but I am a cardamom one, when I saw the Strawberry Cardamom Vanilla muffin in the pastry window I had to have it and it was easily the best muffin I've ever tasted. The barista offered customizations to my cappuccino, which I greatly appreciated (1 or 2 shots, wet/half&half/dry--the price is the same regardless). I went traditional and it tasted great. I don't know if there was latte art cause the foam stuck to the to-go lid when I opened it. The ambiance is super casual, could probably be a bit more polished but you could tell all of the staff were working hard. read more

By the time we got there, there were only 4 Veggie Breakfast Pockets which two were taken right away by my hubby and his best friend. Both of them said it was really good. Me, of course got the Latte flavor of the day (I forgot what it was) with oatmilk and a piece of carrot cake. I enjoyed every last sip of my latte, it had the right sweetness and creaminess. Roasted: last morning in Alaska and checked out Alaska Coffee Roasting Co. This coffee shop is in a small strip plaza but is a great location with great seating. Tables are currently spread out to ensure social distancing but it's nice to be able to sit inside and enjoy a latte out of a mug. Huge menu - both food and flavors. Tons of sugar free options with almond again which is definitely my new favorite. Barista was super nice and offered us our lattes in mugs since we wanted to sit and stay. The vibe in here is great, quiet music, local Alaska decorations balanced with coffee decor as well. The Christmas decorations just added to it. My latte was delicious. The milk and espresso tasted perfectly and the balance of the almond was right on. The only miss here was no latte art but I'll take a great latte with no art any day. Would come back for sure. Unroasted: coffee shop in a strip mall always can be hit or miss. I would say this is a hit. The decor makes it feel like a brunch place. The serve brick oven pizza in the same spot. The pastries all look really good. I would suggest getting a cinnamon roll. The staff was friendly and helped out with our questions. Plenty of sugar free options ions available. I got my usual and I would say it's the best yet. The milk was steamed velvety smooth. The coffee was not overly hot and the espresso was pulled perfectly. Great job all around. Stopping for a quick cup of coffee before checking into our hotel in Fairbanks, we found ourselves at Alaska Coffee Roasting. Unlike the several roadside coffee stands we saw, this is located in an actual building in a strip mall. With it being Halloween, I opted for a pumpkin latte with oat milk. It had a wonderful pumpkin flavor without being artificial or overly sweet. They do offer a variety of food items and bakery items, however, we had just eaten lunch and I had no room left in my belly. Definitely an awesome little coffee spot in the Fairbanks area, especially if you want to sit down and enjoy your coffee as opposed to take it to go. read more

Not a good place for school work. Or any kind of work. The internet is given out in one hour periods, which is fine, except for when the line is long, which is often because the baristas are taking orders and making coffee, which is inefficient for moving the line. Thus, you'll never be able to get a refill on coffee or internet. There are NO power outlets. The only music that's ever played is Irish music or Disney. It would drive me crazy if I were an employee listening to it daily. read more
