One of my favorites when I visit this area! A small park but so beautiful can walk or just sit by the lake. I go at sunset to enjoy

    Cabin #3

We only stayed for one night this time and did not have the chance to really check out all of the park's amenities on this trip. The cabin has been recently updated and everything is so clean! There are two full-sized beds in the small bedroom and a queen-sized fold-down Murphy bed in the living room. Sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels are included as well as TV and free wi-fi. There is an outstanding golf course, lake for boating and fishing, a play area for families, and, during the summer months, swimming at the small beach. Like to hike? Lots of easy trails and an awesome boardwalk to give you an over-the-water experience to check out the wildlife. We will definitely be back to stay at the cabins this summer! We highly recommend! It's glamping at its finest!

Great state park in Cheraw, SC. The turkey oak trail was the main reason I ventured out this way. You have the option of doing either a 2.5 mile or 4.5 mile trail. The trail is fairly easy, but the scenery is what makes it well worth the trek. Lake Juniper is a fantastic view it you opt for the longer route. This trail is very well kept and marked out well, very hard to get lost. I'm glad I took the opportunity to adventure out here. I will definitely have to come visit again!

Great cabins, golf course and walking trails. I go at least once a year. Really enjoy the area. The historical town of Cheraw is good too.

Me & Ron back on 10/10/24 for some Fall golf. We were hoping…read moreto see some color in the leaves but too early. What we did find were exceptional greens and wide open fairways in excellent condition. This is a shot makers course and if you don't stay in the fairway you'll be looking for your ball among the pine cones and good luck with that. The previous Head Pro, Matt has moved on to Piney Point in Norwood, NC. The new guy is Wally Moore. There are also two new ladies in the Pro Shop, Kayla and Melissa who are very efficient at getting you in and out. The range, chipping and putting practice areas are all in great condition. It was sunny day, a little on the cool side at 61 degrees for a 10a tee time with wind gusting to 27 mph. We had great pace of play and finished the front in 2 hours, it had warmed up to 67 and the wind was down. We made the turn and kept on playing as the group in front of us moving so we were able to play ready golf and complete the round in 4 hours. They advertise to allow 4.5 hours for 18 holes. Since this was my third time playing in 3 years, I had some course knowledge which made a big difference, especially on #11, 452 yard par 5. It's a blind shot until you're about 200 yards out and then you can see the edge of the pond that juts out to the right. You have a decision to make. Go over the water or play to the right & avoid the pond on your left and have 200 yards of open fairway to the pin. It's a large green so a well placed shot will give you a great birdie opportunity. I would play here more often but it's a 40+ mile trek through Charlotte traffic but it's worth it.

The Golf Course is awesome and in great shape...the staff is always kind & helpful....Gary Sweeneyread more

The course was a combination of Poa Annua and 417 hybrid Bermuda. It appears the greens keeper is trying to rid the Poa Annua but is not making progress on the greens. The fairways are not getting water and are bare with sparse growth ... that leads to the next problem .. One thing is that the greens are all very sloped. Combined with firmness (a strategy to prevent lingering ball marks ) and speed along with holes placed on 4 degree slopes and you have the worst "miniature golf " nightmare you can imagine. With wind it was a replay of the 2004 US Open at Shinnecock. With One putt, I barely missed the putt on the high side. Once the ball stopped -- the wind started it rolling .. rolling until off the green. I very lightly tapped a 3 footer that rolled 18' to the low side of the hole. Now imagine hitting irons from sparsely covered fairways with bare spots and getting little backspin to stop an approach shot. This all resulted in A very frustrating day. I have no doubt the new ownership will bring this Pinehurst course to playable conditions; however, right now Spring 2025 it is not a playable course.

We were looking for an affordable public course but it isnt worth 35$. Good layout and a lot of potential however.

Scheduled a 9 hole round with husband today. Was greeted by Jim Kane the PGA head professional, sent us out on the back nine. We had the course to ourselves since I don't play much. We enjoyed the course very much nice greens, some water hazards but player friendly. We will be back. Jim told us a lot of members walk the front 9. Back nine was hilly in places. There are very nice houses and lots for sale in the area. We will play here again.

This front nine was pretty flat and free of major obstacles. Back nine was much more fun and challenging with many water based holes. All in all fun course and worth the $40. I spoke to a member who said the course wasn't in great shape right now, so I'm guessing in a few more months it will be stunning. Stop in the grill for great service and tasty food. DO NOT buy a cigar here, though. The humidor hydrometer was broken, and against my better judgement, I still grabbed a cigar. The Flor De Las Antilles is one of my favorite smokes - but it was so dry it cracked 3 inches up when I did the V cut. Bitter and stale - maybe nobody smokes there so they don't feel the pressure to maintain it. Anyways - I'll visit again for sure, but I'll bring my own sticks.
