Over all a great experience with a great staff to assist with the 'bag drop' check in at the Pro Shop & The Turn snack bar. Today, I had the Turkey, Bacon and Ranch panini at The Turn. The Brickwood Restaurant & Bar is closed Mon & Tues. A top tier facility from Bag Drop to Cart Return. It's almost an hour south of Charlotte so there's that but if you're willing to make the drive, you'll be rewarded.

Four HUGE crab cakes, sweet potato fries, marinated button mushrooms, and a side salad. I was a happy gal. I really wanted a beer, but unfortunately they were having problems with tapping the keg of a local NC IPA (name slips my mind). Unfortunately, my beer took fifteen minutes to return to me, but my waitress eventually brought me half a glass of the IPA (the keg was finally able to sputter some up), as well as full glass of Blue Moon -- which she graciously put on the house due to my wait. Service was great, but a little over the top. Our waitress and servers seemed overly nervous about making sure everything was all right and that our glasses were never empty (which was nice). However, I was sad to see that the original, friendly staff that had worked there (before the buy-out) were replaced. If one prefers the true outdoor experience, this is a beautiful park to explore. The campgrounds feature only 17 campsites for RVers, and I'm not sure if they have separate sites for tent camping. The RV sites have water and electricity and no cable or internet. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed and cleaned up after at all times. Check in is on the opposite side of the park than the campgrounds. We had a rather odd shaped RV site and I cannot recall having a fire pit or BBQ grill, but we have our own grill. We have our own bathroom and didn't seek out any park facilities. We enjoyed the fresh air, sunshine and peace and quiet. There is limited shopping in the nearby town with a few scattered restaurants and one fast food restaurant near Walmart. Will we go back? Reservations already made.

The tee boxes are in terrible shape, you hit off matts which are in really poor shape. The grass is in the fairway is so high, it hides the water you'll have to slosh through to get to the green You pay $14 bucks to play 18 holes on a par 3. There are no electric carts but they will rent you a pull cart of a buck. The staff is nice and friendly and there is plenty of free parking.

We had a 1030a time, good thing I called ahead, there was a one hour frost delay. There were carts and guys waiting all round the #1 tee box and there was no started in sight. I walked in the ProShop, there were 2 guys standing there and I asked one guy was there a starter. He turned to the other guy and he said year, I'm the starter, what can I do for you? I just turned around and walked out. It was stacked up and backed up all 18 holes. It was about 49 degrees and the wind was gusting to 30 mph, then the sun went behind the clouds...brrrr. I will say they have made a lot of improvements from 2 years ago and the greens were in really good shape. They have cleaned up the dust from the clubhouse. For food options, there are hot dogs but they stock a full liquor selection. I had a rain check from my first visit which was a really bad experience. The guy looked at it and said 'this ain't no good'. I said why not, he said it's expired. There was no expiration date on it and when It was issued, I asked if it expired and I was told it did not expire. So much for customer service and building good will.

This place is middle of the pack with regard to cost/value, course difficulty, quality of greens and tee boxes.
