The course is great, greens are in great condition but a bit slow compared to what I'm used to. Over all a great experience with a great staff to assist with the 'bag drop' check in at the Pro Shop & The Turn snack bar. Today, I had the Turkey, Bacon and Ranch panini at The Turn. The Brickwood Restaurant & Bar is closed Mon & Tues. A top tier facility from Bag Drop to Cart Return. It's almost an hour south of Charlotte so there's that but if you're willing to make the drive, you'll be rewarded.

The golf course is the best shape of all the times I have played it. The new Champion Bermuda greens were quick, firm and green, all of what you should expect from well-kept bermuda greens. The rest of the golf course is in perfect shape. The tee boxes were a little high for my liking, but that's not a problem at all. After the round, we had drinks and snackies in one of the private rooms connected to the grill. The food is unbelievable. We had cheeseburger sliders, chicken wings, a delicious cheese plate, and the best chicken empanadas I have ever had. The cocktails were strong and tasty. All in all, it was a great day at Trump. The facility is the best in the area without a doubt. I get to play at a lot of high-end private clubs, and Trump is second to none.

We played their blue tees, which is their back tees currently. My only gripe would be the 3 200 plus yard par 3s, that seemed a little excessive. But from any other tee, those holes are 150 or less.

I'd been two years since my first visit and my last review so time for an update…read more It was Black Friday and I joined a group of 16 friends, mostly from Gaston County. We had a 1030a time, good thing I called ahead, there was a one hour frost delay. There were carts and guys waiting all round the #1 tee box and there was no started in sight. I walked in the ProShop, there were 2 guys standing there and I asked one guy was there a starter. He turned to the other guy and he said year, I'm the starter, what can I do for you? I just turned around and walked out. It was stacked up and backed up all 18 holes. It was about 49 degrees and the wind was gusting to 30 mph, then the sun went behind the clouds...brrrr. I will say they have made a lot of improvements from 2 years ago and the greens were in really good shape. They have cleaned up the dust from the clubhouse. For food options, there are hot dogs but they stock a full liquor selection. I had a rain check from my first visit which was a really bad experience. The guy looked at it and said 'this ain't no good'. I said why not, he said it's expired. There was no expiration date on it and when It was issued, I asked if it expired and I was told it did not expire. So much for customer service and building good will.

The layout is designed to accentuate the picturesque lakefront setting. This was one of the first Davis Love III designed courses in the Charlotte area. The tree lined fairways, the terrain, and water make for a challenging game. There is only a small area at the beginning where you are looking at houses- the rest is natural. I can't think of anything bad to say about this place.
