In less than 48 hours my mother was taken, by ambulance, to the ER for shortness of breath. I stopped by one week later to give them an update to find her room cleaned out & her belongings boxed up! We never rec'd written notice or a phone call re: "bed hold", which I am only now familiar with. Now the staff & administration are lying trying to cover their tracks because they did not adhere to the state standards and requirements. The food, when delivered to her room, was ice cold, inedible. The evening aide turned the a/c, in her room, to 62 both nights. That was the care she got overnight. I do not recommend Cypress to care for your loved ones.

There was a young guy who came in every night before leaving who washed if I needed anything before he left for home. I can not say that there wasn't a person who wasn't caring and nice. I can only speak of my experience there and I was so thankful that they got me strong enough to go home. Also the family must stay involved with your care. At any nursing facility it's a must. Thanks to all who was involved of my care. The food was okay. If they had something that I didn't care for they offered me something else. I had an appointment for my mother who is 83 years of age. I had to reschedule for 2 weeks later. I asked if she needed blood work done again since we rescheduled. Olivia at the front desk told me no since the appointment was only 2 weeks away. We get there and she did not have her down for that new date. She said it was for a month away. If that was the case she would had needed new blood work. My problem is that she didn't bother to see if any of the doctors could take my mom that day. She just said "we don't have her down for today". For those of you with elderly parents you know the effort it takes to get them to an appointment. I also took off work. But the main problem was that she only needed someone to go over her blood work and she refused to ask if they could squeeze her in. My mom has to prepare hours beforehand to get dress and get to appointments. She wasn't pleasant and had no empathy whatsoever. If I didn't like the doctors there, I would certainly never go back!!!! Very disappointed.

I have been a patient of Soin since the hospital was built. Soin has never let me down in any category and continues to be the number 1 hospital in Ohio. The Er Doctor, ER Nurses and my Urologist Eric Esponosa are truly the best in the practice. They put the patient's needs first and foremost and with ultimate respect. These nurses allowed me to feel unsafe that I discharge my self early after only 1 night stay from a major surgery. They refused meds that were prescribed to me while I was in extreme pain. They allowed me to remain in blood stained sheets the whole time and played mind games with what meds I was able to take when my charts showed clearly I was prescribed the amount I asked. I haven't even received an after care call since I left. I hope that they re train them proper care to clients this was a very emotional experience i hope no one ever has to encounter again. The evening nurses and the dr who did my surgery were excellent.. but those two day time nurses need to fix their attitude and behavior. It looks bad on the hospital.

Resident's happiness and safety is first priority. Just like any nursing home, all resident is unique and different; and are cared for by the facility. The Gables provides superior therapy options and church services, the food isn't bland and has wonderful flavors. Laundry services and housekeeping is available, and the staff does wonderful job keeping rooms clean and well kept. Even will gladly sew clothes back together, with resident permission. The Gables have a hair salon with an outstanding stylist, and provides many different activities and outings. Family and residents have full access to a kitchen area placed in Long Term and Special Unit. Beautiful fenced in backyard with amazing landscape for residents to explore and get fresh air. During pandemic, the gables maintain safe distancing and still provide activities for the resident to enjoy and interact. Gables support all culture and talent; the facility takes time to learn about each resident and their families. They do have a special care facility for resident that need extra love and attention, with well train staff. Long term unit, is for resdident that choosed to live at the Gables, and grow bigger bonds with all staff. Skilled is the Gables Rehab Center, the Skilled unit is where residents are recovering from surgery and/or waiting for a permanent room to be open. Gables works over and beyond to provide the best care needed for their residents and the families involved with the resident! Residents are treated as VIPs at all times. Highly recommend for your loved ones to get the best care there is!

My father was going to stay there for two weeks to recover from major back surgery. Upon our arrival, the staff was unorganized, the orientation was rushed, and it became quickly (and frighteningly) apparent that no one was even slightly familiar with his case, nor were they receptive to our suggestions for his care or our warnings as to what he would need in light of his present condition. Within four hours of his admission, he'd already fallen and spent an hour on the floor, waiting for someone to check on him. (This someone ended up being another family member, not staff.) After that, we had a family member stay in the room 24/7 to act as a safeguard and advocate until we could get him out of there, which we did within 32 hours. Again, this may not be typical of what usually goes on at the Gables, but our family was not going to take any chances. I'd suggest you investigate the facility and its protocols thoroughly before admitting a loved one and, if you do decide to use them, make sure well in advance that the staff has actually read the patient's medical file.
