Dr Chernoff and his staff are the best! so caring and I have been thrilled with my results!

I was referred by Dr. Stanley Harper at the Avon location to Dr. Greg Chernoff. I did my initial consultation in July with Jamie the patient coordinator. She took before and after (photoshopped) photos and told me what to expect and we reviewed the costs. If I waited until October or later there was a prospective discount that might be available. I was willing to wait for that possibility. In September an availability became open with the aforementioned discount. Then I met with the doctor, head nurse, and Jamie again at my next appointment. Both Dr Greg Chernoff and Nurse Julie have been doing these procedures that I was selecting for 30 years. I was comfortable with everything they were telling me. My only concern was for the length of time for me personally to heal at that point. I figured it might be longer than normal due to my age. Everybody was extremely helpful and made me 100% comfortable with their process and procedures. Since I lived an hour away, they asked if I had time and we decided to do the the pre-op appointment at the same time. I learned my surgery was going to take five hours which is the longest I've ever been under general anesthesia. During the following week, I was able to get approvals from my primary care physician as well as the specialist that sees me for my worst chronic disease and get her approval too. The anesthesiologist approved the procedure with a weekend phone call. Nurse Julie had called me on the prior Sunday to review a lot of information as well. These people really go above and beyond what I am used to in the medical profession. Dr. Chernoff absolutely goes way beyond any expectations you would have to a point you have to tell your friends and family how amazingly he stands by his statement of "we're going to take real good care of you" which he stated to me several times before my surgery. He came through for me 1000% on everything. On my day of surgery, Wednesday September 28, I left the waiting area and went back to the pre-op bed on time and soon Dr. Chernoff visited me to go over what lay ahead. I had a couple of questions about recovery expectations. Then Dr. Himebstein, my anesthesiologist, came to review my medications, my blood work, and ask questions about my medical history. I did not have any questions for him because he covered everything so thoroughly. I woke up six hours later and Nurse Ellen took care of me for the rest of the day and all night. I was her only patient to take care of. There was one other overnight patient but he too had his own nurse. Soft drinks, snacks , and pain meds were available for whenever you needed them. Dinner was provided by a delivery service from Jimmy John's. I had Teddy Grahams for dessert. In the morning, I got checked out earlier than expected after visiting with Dr. Chernoff again. He again reaffirmed everything wet smoothly and I told him I was happy with the results. As a matter of fact the pain threshold was much lower than I had expected. We confirmed my next appointments for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. I ended up checking into the Drury Plaza Hotel, only two stop lights from Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery, on Friday so I didn't have an hour commute every day and needless stress over I-465 daily traffic. I had thought about this plan before the surgery so I was prepared. Corinne, a 15 year employee, saw me every day except weekends and helped me immensely in the office with my post operative recovery on the following Friday, then Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week. Dr Chernoff referred me to the Hyperbaric Oxygen Clinic for four oxygen treatments which helped with my healing and recovery immensely. I completed the four daily consecutive treatments on Friday, October 7th, as well as nine daily consecutive appointments with Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery on the same Friday. On Monday, October 10th, the rest of my sutures were removed. My healing and recovery are right on schedule. Now I will be seen once a week for the next month, then once a month for a few months. I'm still completely satisfied with the results, and with Dr. Chernoff and his awesome staff! This office is very busy, so if you are lucky enough to get on the schedule with them, you will not be disappointed! They take such great care of their patients. I did consultations for breast augmentation with a couple different surgeons in Indy and a few things Dr Chernoff said to me really made me feel that this office was best. He does not go off of a number or size specification. His philosophy is show me pictures of what you like and don't like, and we will base your procedure on that. And he's right: Beauty isn't a certain size! I loved that. He also emphasized that I am a patient of his, not just a number or procedure of the week. It's a journey. Wow, what a great find. After I researched the equipment at Dr. Chernoff's office (just what I wanted) I went for a consultation. I was blown away by the professionalism of his staff and how they packaged multiple services tailored to fit my needs, so I thought I would give them a try. Wow what a wonderful first two visits at Dr Chernoff's office. I met with Nurse Julie to speak about lasers and she was so knowledgeable in her explanation of which laser will be appropriate for my pigmentation and how it works. Very thorough, very sweet. She also recommended I do a Hydrofacial. So the next day I set up a facial with Ella. Another wow! Ella was also very sweet, informative of the hydrofacial process, products that make up the facial and would let me know what was happening each step of the way. The best part is I really needed a super deep cleaning as my pores were clogged and I had many Milia and blackheads. Ella did one of the best cleanings I've had! I couldn't believe it and realized the fluffy spas I was going to in the past would just push me through the conveyor belt of facials without taking the time to really be thorough. I am a former esthetician at a plastic surgeon office. I am familiar with many different procedures. I decided to have a DOT laser to improve skin quality. Dr Chernoff did my procedure. Dr Chernoff explained everything and was one of the kindest most caring Dr's I have ever been around. I honestly cannot say enough about his bedside manner. The procedure was easy, healing was quick and the results were excellent! I added Botox to my initial procedure and at my follow up visit I said I think my eye needed a little something. I was stunned when the nurse gave me a little more Botox and said there was NO additional charge! I have NEVER heard of this. I literally floated out of the office. Pam the receptionist is amazing and so kind and knowledgeable. Best treatment I have ever had! The entire staff is excellent, obviously a reflection on the culture created by Dr. Chernoff. Before finding Dr Chernoff's office, I had visited another very well-known Indy cosmetic surgery provider for some appearance concerns I had; she gave no real consultation, just informed me "this is what we'd do for that concern; --do you want to do that?? " ; that was pretty much the extent of my "consultation"; her front desk receptionist actually provided more information and answered more questions than the provider did. Being very dissatisfied (and unsure) with that (rather expensive) result from the provider mentioned above, I sought out Dr Chernoff for alternatives and thank God I did !! Dr Chernoff (amazingly) corrected the previous providers improperly administered Botox (which was improperly injected and way overdone) and likewise with the filler (also improperly performed). Dr Chernoff casually and patiently explained to me the underlying causes and what treatment options that were available (pros and cons to each of the options) to address my concerns. He took the time to get to know me and to insure I felt comfortably informed of the various options presented. His staff also expertly navigated me through the other decision-making (timing, scheduling, available financing if desired, pre- /post- procedure options and expectations) in a very personable, professional, and friendly (no-nonsense, no-pretense) manner. Dr Chernoff and his staff truly go above and beyond in making sure all goes well (especially post-procedure, where they keep on constant contact and followup with every patient to insure you're doing well); it's obvious that he and his staff genuinely care about you, and the support and services that they provide to every patient. If you're considering any procedure (non-surgical or otherwise) I highly recommend a visit with Dr Chernoff; you will find his experience (triple board certified, unlike most in town), expert results, professionalism, friendliness, and genuine concern far above other Indy cosmetic surgery providers. Dr. Chernoff did not provide the services that he promised me. After spending $25,000.00 and not seeing the results that I was told initially, I am questioning whether he performed the procedure that I paid for. The CO2 laser resurfacing was not done like I was told would be done during initial surgery and instead he performed some type of sideburn transplant because he didn't like the way my surgery was done 25 yrs ago by a previous physician. This was never discussed by myself or Dr. Chernoff. My before and after pictures speak for themselves. I feel like I was sold a used car by a used car salesman. I recently went to Dr. Chernoff for a Rhinoplasty consultation. His staff was very friendly and accommodating. After watching the show "botched" and hearing horror stories of bad plastic surgeries I have always been scared! Dr. Chernoff is a really great doctor! I visited Chernoff Cosmetic Surgeons today for a breast reduction consultation. I chose to visit them due to the great reviews I had read online. I wish I had picked a different place as my experience was awful. They got me in at my scheduled appointment time, and recommended that I see Dr. Lai. When Dr. Lai came in to see me, he had his assistant with him. He did not ask if it was ok if she was present, nor did he introduce her to me as common courtesy would prescribe. I ignored that and expressed some of my concerns to him. He took some measurements, placed me in front of the mirror, and told me "I don't know what you want me to fix here" and not in a complimentary, supportive way -- in a berating and condescending way. He asked me to get dressed and left the room. When he returned, he had brought with him a few books of pictures. He proceeded to flip through these books and show me pictures while talking about how these women had "real problems" that needed to be fixed. The entire appointment was 45 minutes, most of which was him telling me how my problems weren't real and that most women would kill to have what I have. I really don't care what other women would kill for, Dr. Lai. I wanted someone to listen actively to my concerns and my situation and help me figure out a solution. Not only did he not listen to the few concerns I was able to express, he continued to berate me even when I tried to explain better what my concerns were. "Let me finish," he said when I tried. He continued to tell me stories about other women whose situations were not at all relevant to me, which he would have known if he had bothered to ask me what my plans for the future were regarding children and old age. According to the information I was given, it wouldn't seem prudent at any point in a woman's life to even consider breast reduction surgery due to the ever changing nature of her hormones. By the end of the "consultation," which seemed more like a lecture about how silly I was, I was emotionally exhausted. The only bright spot in my whole experience was Dr. Lai's assistant who was very supportive and offered some insight into alternative solutions for my concerns. read more
