Fun fact: The owner has done many facials for Oprah and Jessica Simpson. Woah! When I read that on their website, I knew that this would be a top-notch spot. Located on Main Street in Carmel, this multi-story spa offers all types of skincare services and sells quality skincare lines in the lobby. I'd been in to pick up a few products before, but finally booked a facial last week. I called ahead to book my appointment. I wanted them to assess what my skin needed, so I gave them my budget and told them to do whatever they thought was best in that price range. My esthetician, Rose, was amazing and did a great job clearly explaining what she was doing. She answered all of my questions in a helpful way and I learned that she has 14+ years of experience. She said that this is her favorite place she's worked because everyone here is passionate about skin and they get all of the new gadgets. She hydrated my skin, did a mini chemical peel (one with no downtime), microbladed my face (gets rid of all dead skin/hair/helps you be glowy), and did laser genesis to stimulate collagen and kill bacteria (potential acne). My face was super glowy after and my skin felt tight the following day. The products that she used were top of the line (IS Clinical, Babor, etc), so the price of the facial truly is worth the quality of product that they're giving you. Hmmm. I hesitated a bit before writing this review, but after some reflection, I think my judgment is fair and my feedback could help improve operations/customer experience at Kurr. Came in on a Saturday in February that I had free and was very excited for my consult. I was taking a personal care/spa day to treat myself and get either some micro needling or a chemical peel done. This was my first time doing anything special with my skin, and I picked Kurr because of the great Yelp and Google reviews. My consultation was going well - after discussing my goals and skin type, we came to a joint decision to go ahead with micro needling. This is where I think the staff dropped the ball - numbing cream was applied to my face and only after I was waiting (maybe 15-20 minutes in?) did I get a text on my phone for a consent form to sign. I wasn't expecting any forms since I hadn't received a heads up. Luckily had my phone on me vs. away on the chair. I received the text and thought, ok, no biggie -- just need to provide a signature. Because I had some time to kill, I did read through everything thoroughly and caught a minor detail that patients with history of keloids should not be getting this procedure done as microneedling could trigger keloid scarring. That rang alarms in my head since I have a long history of keloids, so let the aesthetician know. We both agreed that it would be best not to continue to minimize risk of damaging my skin. I was disappointed but was glad to have prevented this vs. not knowing and risking scarring. By the time we finished discussing this, my face was numb and there also wasn't much time to change course or move forward with an alternative. The aesthetician suggested that I come back another day for a chemical VI peel since we wouldn't have enough time and they were closing for the day. I totally understand that, but what bothered me was that I was told that we might as well do some extractions/cleansing for a 'discounted price' since I was already numb. It is on me for assuming and not clarifying on pricing, but I was charged $90 for extractions (and maybe some moisturizer?) that was done in 15 min or so. At check-out I was surprised by the final cost, and this is where I should have spoken up to clarify the pricing, but they were closing up so I let it go, paid, and left. Driving home, the more I thought about it, the more it didn't settle well with me - I think $90 is way overpriced for extractions, especially given the situation. I also debated posting a review or not, but decided to post this review so that Kurr can ensure that consent forms are given before any procedures are started, and ensure that pricing is crystal clear with clients. Anyway, I still give this 3 stars since staff are friendly, seem to be knowledgeable/skilled, there are multiple services to choose from, and the facilities were clean. I also think my experience would have been different if I received the service (which I assume is typically the case in 99% or situations). Based on my experience alone, this would have been a one-star review because it pretty disappointing to clear out a whole Saturday for personal care, only to 1) not get what I came for, and 2) get charged $90 for extractions... so I will not be a return customer. However, others might have better luck! read more

I have always been hesitant to try a new Med Spa because I am used to going to the one in my home state, however after lots of research and review browsing, I decided to give Kurr a try! They were extremely booked but I was able to get a cancellation within a week of initially reaching out. They were extremely friendly over the phone and such wonderful people to talk to. I felt very welcomed when I walked in, and the spas cozy elegant feel is carried through in every room. I did a Brazilian and underarm laser with Marci and she was fabulous! Kurr is one of the main reasons many women come to Main Street Carmel. They are an essential place for all things aesthetic! I used to work down the street for a little girls clothing company (now closed) and the moms would come in, after a facial at Kurr, with their faces simply glowing. I was so impressed by the results that I talked about wanting to get one there so much so that my then boss bought me a facial for my birthday. That was 3 years ago and I finally went back for another and winning a silent auction recently. My aesthetician was Jen this time and she was fantastic! Very educational on what my skin needed specifically and helped me find some killer (but expensive) cream to help keep my dry skin quenched. I'll admit it: I'm high-maintenance when it comes to my face. I take good care of my skin and think it's really important to keep up on regular injectables, peels, and microneedling treatments. Having recently moved back to Indy, I needed to find a reputable medspa that provided high-quality aesthetic services and injectables. I spent an afternoonon Google, scouring reviews and websites to find just the right place and after seeing both Christine and Michelle, I'm so glad I found Kurr. For an esthetician appointment, they're booked out pretty far but I was able to get on the cancellation list and snag an appointment within a week of calling (score!). I was so impressed with Christine, who carefully listened to my skin concerns and tailored my service to meet the individual needs of my skin. She also told me that each time I come in, she'll perform a different service based on how my skin appears that day, which I was so impressed with. In addition to that, she recommended a skincare routine (at my request, not unsolicited, so I didn't feel any pressure to purchase) so that I can continue to address my concerns at home between appointments. Later that afternoon, I returned to see Michelle, Kurr's nurse injector. It is obvious that she has a great deal of experience with cosmetic injectables, because she was very thorough and confident. My Botox was essentially painless and 2 weeks later, looks flawless! I am looking forward to returning for Voluma and lip filler when the time comes to touch up those areas; I have confidence that Michelle will make me look natural and not overly-augmented. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a great spa who I could trust with my skincare and first experience with Botox. I made an appointment with Michelle to have a Botox consultation and when I arrived for my appointment I was immediately impressed with the warm, inviting lobby and friendly staff. Kurr Med Spa is absolutely lovely and you can tell that the owner, Kim, takes pride in her business with the attention to detail and hand-picked staff. I was taken to the waiting area upstairs; an intimate little room with a large fire place, plush couches and chairs, sweet smelling candles, and fruit infused water and small snack station. I felt so comfortable! I completed the health questionnaire they gave me and enjoyed the relaxing small music while waiting. I'm so happy I arrived early to my appointment so I could enjoy relaxing beforehand. Michelle was so kind and patient with me during my consultation. She answered all of my questions and I felt zero pressure to do any type of service. It really was a genuine consultation; she took the time to listen to me and get to know me, my skincare goals, and provide me with knowledge on Botox and further services. Michelle has more than 15 years of plastic surgery and aesthetics experience out of her 28 years of nursing and her knowledge exemplifies that! It was an easy choice to choose her to work with. Michelle recommended that we start with minimal Botox so that we could both have an idea of what I wanted going forward. She told me to come back in about 2 weeks if I was unhappy with the results and wanted more or to call or come back with any questions. The entire consult and service took about 30 minutes. I was beyond impressed with how natural and smooth my skin looked 2 weeks later. I have had so many compliments and many thought I looked "well-rested" or asked if I had just got back from vacation. Such a good experience with Kurr! I am from out of state but was visiting family and thought I'd try to book an appointment to treat a skin issue that has bothered me for a while. I sent an email to Kurr and wasn't expecting them to have availability on such short notice...so I was pleasantly surprised that they replied almost immediately and offered an appointment for the very next day! The appointment was for a targeted treatment, which indicated that they had read my email and offered the service most tailored to that problem. Excellent customer service for someone who wasn't even a customer yet!! Marci did a laser facial for me and was very thorough but made the whole experience so relaxing. She was very upfront about the treatments that would and would not work on my problem area and gave me some options to consider in future treatments. My skin looked so lovely and even-toned after the treatment (hard fear to achieve) which is a testament to Marci's work! Kurr's prices are very fair for the high quality of services they offer. I was referred to this spa from a friend. The location is adorable, the facilities are chic and sophisticated. Reminds me of an upscale living room from Pintrest. With that said my services have fallen short. I understand they staff is busy with clients, but I never have felt very welcomed. My first visit they forgot I was scheduled, it was scheduled out 3 weeks and on a Saturday. On my second visit, I brought a friend as a referral and she too was not welcomed as one would hope. My visits from there have been decent. For the price I pay and the time I travel, I would appreciate more on their part. I adore the person who I saw each visit, which is why I keep coming back. I love how I feel every time I leave Kurr. I appreciate that they customize the facial to fit the needs of your skin, instead of providing an identical step-by-step facial for everyone. I am always asked what issues I am having or what I would like to improve before making recommendations. My esthetician, Amy, examines my skin upon every visit and looks for anything that can be improved. She will switch up a few treatments each time, as necessary, to treat any problem areas. I had a great first experience at KURR today. I had been wanting to try a hydrafacial before my upcoming wedding and a co-worker recommended this place to me. It is in the heart of Main Street in Carmel. Booking via phone was relatively easy and while my first appointment was cancelled due to illness, they were easily able to reschedule me for the next Saturday. As soon as I walked in the door, my first observation was how amazing it smelled!! They had a couple amazing candles going and it was a very calm, spa-like atmosphere. My aesthetician, Teresa, was so friendly and helped answer all my questions as this was my first facial experience. She explained every step as she was doing it so I knew what was happening every step of the way. I also had her do dermaplane on my face. Any discomfort was minimal and my skin has never felt smoother or softer! The nice part is there is really no downtime, but time will tell how long the results last. I had horrible cystic acne that I finally got control of but it left me terribly scarred under my cheekbones. Kurr has made the scarring virtually unnoticeable and I no longer feel like I need to wear foundation to leave the house. It is extremely relaxing and I look forward to every appointment. This really is a lovely day spa. It has a very cozy feel highlighted by velvet curtains used to create private areas. The staff is very friendly and they do not try to push services or products on you, which is nice. I recently had my first botox treatment there and Jen was great. Sorry to take so long to review this place... my services were almost a year ago but I remember thinking they were more into having their proverbial nose in the air than being warm and welcoming. I have found several places for different services where they are glad to see me and to have my business, they do not act as if they are doing me a favor by taking my money for their services. I recall overhearing someone representing Kurr in a rather heated conversation with what seemed to be a representitive or spokesperson for some apparently, recent clients... thought it in poor taste to conduct the conversation where it could be overheard by others. What I overheard caused me to think that their business's reputation was being brought into question & that the clients were very unhappy... that coupled with their 'nose-in-the-air' attitudes decided me to look elsewhere for any further services. Chez Michelle is a wonderful experience for skin care, Lather gives a great hair cut, Edens Pathway gives one of the best mani-pedis I have ever had and Chez Michelle's detox wrap was also a delightly pleasant experience, just to name a few.. read more
