I do everything in my power to help her and my son, to get through this. A good friend referred me to Martino Cartier Salon and their Wigs and Wishes charity. I made the appointment not knowing what exactly to expect. Please know that my daughter in law has shown so much strength and grace throughout this fight. We shaved her head after her first treatment. She didn't loose her hair until her third treatment. It was traumatic. It was the first time she stated that she had cancer. We had her wig appointment today. She was nervous. She has dyed her hair for years. Most recently, it has been purple. Though they didn't have a purple wig, Lianne was so beyond kind and found a wig that complimented her style. To make her feel more like herself, she added some colored extensions. On our way home, she kept looking in the mirror. I thought it was so sweet. Then she told me that she hadn't been looking at herself in the mirror because she didn't like the stranger who stared back at her. This brought a tear to my eye. The hairdresser Kayla told me that she had to glaze my hair two different ways, melt my roots as they call it and whatever else. The total was going to be $370 which I was more than happy to pay as long as I walked out of there with what we had discussed. Instead 4 hours later, I leave with a black route, a band of color right under the route that is green and then the rest a very light bleached out color with the ends green again. I called the salon owner and she invited me back to fix it. I had to leave work early the next day, drive 35 minutes, spend another two hours for a different hairdresser to fix it. The second hairdresser Rachel did a good job repairing the mosh posh of crap that the previous stylist did. However after 6 1/2 hours, two days, and $350, I am completely dissatisfied with my hair. It is nowhere near what I wanted it to be. It has about four different shades of blonde in it and as of last night it was completely damaged, frizzy and would not curl. The owners solution was to offer me my next service (of adding highlights to my hair in order to ATTEMPT to get it to what I originally requested) for free. Meanwhile I never want to step foot in that salon again. So I'm left with spending the money to look a certain way but needing to now walk around for two weeks dissatisfied and then go pay someone else to accomplish the original goal. To say that I am beyond disgusted is an understatement. The young lady that owns the salon needs to go back to get a second- degree in customer relations and go to cosmetology school so that at the very least she knows what questions and expectations to have of the hairdressers she hires.

I had taken protective braids out like over a week ago and left my hair a hot mess in a scarf for a week (bad I know). So my hair was horribly nappy & dry. I got my deep conditioning done. I got my trim which was done tastefully and just enough. Shenika worked with me as I am tender headed & my hair was NAPPY & knotted. ‍. Came out looking like a new women. So thanks Shenika, I'll be back in a few months bc I never get my hair done consistently. Only reason why not 5 stars is bc they don't take card & I didn't know how much the service was. Lori was great, and helped me with picking a great color and gave me an awesome cut! Brought life back to my hair. While the color was processing, I was offered coffee or bottled water, which I thought was the PERFECT touch.
