Dad loved his golf and was club champ a few times. If you can afford the membership, I highly recommend it. If I recall, it is a few hundred THOUSAND dollars for membership and monthly dues. There was a monthly required spend for F&B, so I hope you like to eat and drink. I highly suggest hole in one insurance just in case! Living now in Sarasota FL, there aren't any clubs of this caliber here. The east coast has better clubs. Therefore, I took up boating....LOL

The patio area has a panoramic view of all three ninth holes from the Lake Course Pines and the Valley which is picturesque. . The menu has some creative selections of dishes that are plentiful and very good combined with superb service. My favorite is the 19th hole.

From the minute you walk in (and step into history) there is always a team member there should you have any questions. Plenty of parking if you're doing it yourself. It's always fun to take a look around imaging yourself back in the gilded era with this being just another rest home away from the city for the Vanderbilts There main ballroom is a large comfortable room with a bar, dance floor and plenty of room to move around. During the there is plenty of light from all the windows and there is plenty of lighting for evening time. Simply, a comfortable place to be. The food is always wonderful-fresh and tasty. They always give us enough choice for everyone. Our dinners always include the choice of a fish, meat and chicken. All prepared wonderfully.
