My hair was…read moregetting to the point where it looked frizzy and fried even after trimming it, and even though it had taken me years of forgoing heat styling and harsh chemical treatments to grow it out, I had 4 to 6 inches that were pretty damaged. Even so, I felt that this was still a big risk for me. I've always been wary of stylists that love nothing more than chopping away at hair with no regard for the person's decisions. On top of that, I had a big presentation the next day, and my wedding about a week and a half afterward. I felt at ease with Nicole. She was so sweet, welcoming and funny. She was very gentle with my hair and really listened to me when I described the result I wanted. And I really love how my hair turned out! I felt very relaxed and comfortable with what she was doing. Probably the biggest plus is that I'm a reserved person, but I genuinely enjoyed talking with Nicole while she worked... I was almost a chatterbox. It's a cute little salon. Sara doesnt seem to have that problem lol. The only negative i can report on Sara is her hours. Shes only open like business type hours I think its 9 or 10am to 4pm monday through friday. It can be hard for me to make it day time but I love the way she makes my hair into a living work of art so much that I take a day off and go to her. This is going to be a long review, I apologize ahead of time. I've been to this salon several times…read moreand had the same stylist so I am very disappointed and confused by what happened to me yesterday. I had an appointment scheduled online, they take a $26.00 downpayment to discourage people from flaking on their appointment (which is totally understandable) anyhow it shows you the balance of your services when you book online, mine was $78 so I planned on bringing $120 so I could give Dakota (my stylist) a healthy tip. While I was getting checked out Dakota said I had two add-ons, Sheila told me the total, and it was $170 and some change, I was like, whoa wait a minute. I didn't think this was going to be $200 (remember I had already paid $26) apparently the "add-ons" were $30/each, which WAS NOT communicated to me nor has it ever happened in the past and the tip was preset on the machine and she couldn't figure out how to change it or let me choose a different tip. So the addons would be an additional $60 and I don't think I have to explain how wrong it is that the tip was precalculated in the price and couldn't be changed. I love my hair, and I love Dakota but this was wrong and has NEVER happened to me before. Sheila actually got upset with me and said "I didn't do anything to you", I was in shock. It was nearly $100 more than what was communicated to me on their website. I am devastated by this whole thing because obviously, I cannot go back there so I have to try to find someone else to do my hair. I was so upset I just wanted to get out of there so I paid. I did get a phone call a couple of hours later that said they refunded me the tip so Dakota gets to pay the price of what happened. But I guess he didn't tell me the additional cost for the add-ons in the first place. If you go there, make sure you tell them to clearly state that when they are using addons, because there is an additional charge, and it is not cheap. God, what a shame this was.

However, that all changed when I went to the Paramount Studio Salon. When I first met my husband he was working at Paramount and on one New Year's Eve he had gotten this sexy looking hair cut. I couldn't get over it so I asked him were he had gotten it. He replied at Paramount . At the studio? I was surprised. In hindsight I guess it makes sense because someone has to do all those stars hair right? Well, years later I came to work at Paramount and once again I had found myself needing a hair cut so my hubby suggested I go to the salon. I was hesitant but I went because I remember his good haircut. That day I met Cherie. She didn't bug me about products, she didn't pull my hair and she had a lot of good talk on life and of course, studio gossip. I had no idea how I wanted my hair so I told her to do what she wanted. And you know what? I loved the result! So I went to her again and again and eventually I found myself getting haircuts every 3 months. Finding someone you trust to cut your hair is an amazing feeling for someone who hated the experience of getting their hair cut. Now I can't wait for my appointment! And most especially, I can't wait to come see Cherie. I haven't tried another of the other stylists at the Paramount Salon because when you find something good, why change?
