Customers/clients bring money to a business. Whether it be a 50 cent purchase or a $500 purchase. So a businesses main goal is to keep your customers/clients satisfied/happy. With that said, my wife and I came into this shortline @ 1537 on the 24th, July, for her refil and my 2 powerade drinks. At the counter was a cashier by the name of Michael, who has helped us out with our transactions in the past, but seemed to be having a bad day today. At the register my wife decides to put back a bag of chips she changed her mind on. Michael begins to ring up the items, I slide my card, enter pin, and like always my wife asks to make sure we were charged for a refill not the full cup price. Michael begins by telling us that we should have told him that in the first place. Mind you, I have not pushed the ok button yet for the transaction. Wife says, can you do anything? Cashier says its too late. You need to tell me about refills. What do you want me to do read your mind? (enter pushed reciept printed) At this time I asked him if he can cancel the transaction. Cashier tells me he is not authorized to do so. There is nothing he can do. It's to late, I can't read your minds. You should have told me. REALLY?! Shell, this is your employee speaking to a customer down, now we're the cause. It may have been our mistake, but like this? So I asked the cashier if he can just put a note on the back of the reciept for our next visit, at least saying what happened and the next refill discounted. No I am not authorized to do that. I can't do anything. I figured it was a new cup. You didn't tell me.(Basically saying, your assed out too bad) When asked for a manager he replied, no come in the morning. (no manager name, no contact number.) Had to ask him to write the managers name on a punch out card that he gave us. On our way out he was still telling us he can't do anything, but his tone very disrespectful. Disappointed because she herself is a floor manager at the Cosmo, my wife let him know he needed to watch the way he spoke to customers, and it was unessasary to do so in that manner, right or wrong. I was already writing this review, and a letter to corporate in my head. Im just in disbelief that for one, a man can speak back to a woman with disrespect, and two, an employee can speak down to customaking ding uncooperative, making them the problem, and not coming up with a solution. I just wanted to say as a previous employee here, everything was great except the manager. She really needs to consider separating her emotional private life from work life. You didn't enjoy coming to work on a Monday because she just came back from her weekend. And you thanked the heavens when you had a weekday off. Giving a staff member 4 different things to do at once and expect them to get it done 15 minutes after you rambled in my ear, then shoot us a look like we're completely incompetent. I used to go in almost everyday, even when I wasn't working, and even after I quit. But she just ruined it for both my husband and I. I hope she reads this. This place was really weird. I stopped by at like 1am in the morning in this area in particular because i knew it wasn't a busy part of town and i just wanted to quickly get some gas without worrying who was around me. As soon as I pulled in, what ever older person that was working there was just barely walking into the store and stared at me driving into the parking lot. I didn't think much of it because they looked away as they finished going inside but once i parked at a pump i looked up and the old person was staring at me again through the window like i wasn't able to see them. I personally just heavily stare back at people who are staring at me so i think they noticed and then tried to walk to a different window with some decals on it and i could still see there head. so there we were just staring at eachother through the window while i was still sitting in my car debating whether or not i wanted to get out or not to get my gas. I even waved at the dude and they waved back. that was genuinely a creepy encounter. except now that i'm home it's hilarious. but that was creepy. that was really creepy. read more

Bought ice cream at this location on May 21, 2021, late night a little after midnight and the attendant was the rudest ever. Blonde, Caucasian heavyset lady in her fifty's no name tag. LINDA is her name. Worst customer service I've seen in my life. She said that we cannot eat it outside or she'll call the cops in 10min. We are a customer and this lady has no right to be working in a place where she has no clue about customer service. She even mention that the next time, she will not serve us. Specially if there's a delivery at the store. After 10 minutes she went out of the store, locked it the and walked over to take my license plate number. Enough is enough. We live in this neighborhood and having a person working here at this place is a total disappointment. I will never come here for gas or ice cream again. Specially for gas. I wIll take my business elsewhere and definitely let the neighborhood know how Awful we were treated by this lady. Actually. ZERO RATING!!! Zero stars if I could help it but no choice and had to give it something. Again ZERO RATING! Bad customer service all around. My 20+ years in customer service I've never encountered a spiteful, hateful person in my entire management career. I would never keep a person like her in my business giving bad service and treating paying customers. Again, don't come to this place at all. I always rate service stations by there Beer Selection. I am not a fan of Bud, Miller or Coors. What can I say been there done that. I have other tastes I need to fulfill. This place has a decent micro and craft beer section. They also carry Great Basin which is a Nevada Brewery in Reno/Sparks area. The "Icky" is awesome. Try a sixer and support NV businesses. What is this place advertise individual pizzas? Every time I go there from one on later into the day they never have any available. There seems to be a lot of people complaining about the service at Short Line. I go there almost every morning before work and haven't ONCE had bad service. People need to be a little more understanding. If an item rings up at the wrong price, it's YOUR job to tell the cashier the price is wrong. If your $.89 cup should be $.49 because it's a refill that's YOUR job to tell them that. This place is awesome, huge parking lot, great employees, and always have everything I can ask for. read more

We came in for ice cream, me and my boyfriend. The women working, Linda, was rude to us. We asked for one sample and that didn't seem to be an issue but as soon as we asked for another she said, "mmm, I'm only allowed to give one sample per person." At that moment I wanted to walk out but no I simply told her that we planned on buying ice cream. I felt very looked down upon as an eighteen year old trying to buy ice cream. I got the feeling she thought we were only there for samples. She also made the comment of " most the time people don't get what they sample." and when my boyfriend ordered what he had sampled she said that he was only getting that because of what she had said. Which was false, he ordered an ice cream flavor he likes. She then proceeded to walk my boyfriend through how to use his debit card and read the screen to him like he was uneducated about how to pay. What made this whole thing even more weird and annoying was the fact that she stared us down while we walked from our car into the store and then when we left she watched us walk back to our car. Over all my experience in the store was not that of a satisfied customer. I felt very stereotyped or generalized as a dumb teenager trying to get free stuff. read more

I've been coming to this location for years and it's great! Great customer service, great pricing (pricing as good as it gets for a convenience store,) and always in stock with what I'm looking for. This place has been sold a couple of times and I quit visiting a couple of years ago because the old owners sucked. I won't go all racist, but you can read between the lines in regards to who owns the majority of convenience stores in the US. It was filthy, didn't carry what I wanted and the clerks were rude and obnoxious. Now, I'm back! Different staff, but still the same great people.
