I visited the Chevron fuel station at 2347 California Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116‑2402, and the pump completely failed to stop, overfilling my tank by about four gallons. When I brought it to the clerk's attention, instead of helping, they flipped me off and kicked me out of the store. Honestly, the display of rudeness was so over-the-top it was almost entertaining, and I wasn't offended--but it's a reminder that this location has serious mechanical issues with its pumps. read more

Ridiculous how many times their payment system is offline. Not worth the headache. A gas station at the busiest corner in West Seattle shouldn't be so janky. Lots of business so it is likely quite profitable. No excuse for having a system off line so often. Most customers don't know how to use the parking spots. They park blocking the air and vacuum machine or park at the pump to go in and buy food. The dickdash drivers make their own parking spots along the north end of the property to pick up orders. ‍ All of this volume in a small lot is just crazy and selfish. Hard to maneuver in and thin amounts of clearance. Of course no one tied to the business will do a thing about it. The guys behind the counter have been dense or not customer friendly for the 25 years I have occasionally shopped there. The prices of the items on the shelf are not updated. So products are more expensive when you go to pay. I guess a lot of customers love paying more on a dysfunctional lot. I'm done! read more

Some of my Co-workers suggested that I try Chevron chicken I kept blowing it off but on this particular day got gas and decided to try their Buffalo chicken wings 5 piece what I got from the cashier was astonishing I received 5 wings but I had to put my own Buffalo sauce on it($10.50) even worst the chicken wasn't hot, it was dry and old now the chicken was seasoned well I will give them that but old old chicken NO good!!! UNSAFE: PUMP DOES NOT AUTO SHUT OFF 1) pump 8 sensor is broken. Gas spilled everywhere. It was coming out the side and overflowing out the bottom of my car. The attendant told me to put up a sign saying it was broken! He eventually gave me a car wash voucher, but didn't clean up the gas or put up a broken sign on the pump. This created a dangerous situation by not cleaning it up. Discolored my tire and the car stinks even after a wash. Reading to see if there are other car hazards/damages to address. He said there wasn't anything he could do at the time. By the time I responded to the situation there wasn't an option for a receipt to be able to talk with a manager. PAY BEFORE GOING TO WASH OR YOU WILL GET STUCK 2) you have to pay for the car wash inside. You don't know that until you are in the narrow one way driveway through the car wash. You are pretty much stuck. Also, the device at the end by the blowers has damaged rubber mats, thus the wheels and metal on the device strike the top of your roof. read more

Rude staff. After buying $75.96 in gas today at 11:06 AM. I asked if I could use their washroom.. The employee at the cash resister tells me "Sorry we do not have public restrooms." I mentioned that I just bought gas from him. He repeated that they do not have public restrooms. Yet they do have a clearly marked restroom on the south entrance to their store. I wish I had known that is how they behave towards paying customers, I would have filled up my tank elsewhere. I will not be buying anything from them in the future. read more

I have been a customer of this Chevron for over 10 years. I have spent thousands of dollars on fuel here. This station has always been good to me, the employees pleasant, and I appreciate it having the only car wash in the area. The tire pump always works. Things changed recently; they installed video monitors in the fuel pumps blasting video advertisements with audio at loud volume. I find this infuriating; I'm already purchasing a product. I do not want more advertising for things I'll never buy played at loud volume at me while I am standing in the cold. I find it insulting and inconsiderate to the customer. If you are going to subject your customers to unwanted and irrelevant advertising; at the very least reduce your fuel prices to compensate for the annoyance. I thought about a 1 star rating and I realize it is harsh. However, I now actively avoid this station and will go elsewhere due to the ads blaring at me, therefore I think a 1 star is warranted. This Chevron has a drive-thru car wash, one of two in West Seattle. You have to go inside to pay before driving around the back of the building to enter. There isn't a clear sign stating this until you've pulled up to the car wash entry which is similar to a tight alley so I thought I'd save others the annoyance I experienced. So, why am I waisting my time reviewing a gas station. Well, I am waiting for the Seahawk game to start so I thought that I would kill some time! What better way to kill time than to Yelp a gas station. Personally, I would never think about reading a review site for a damn gas station! I seriously wonder about those that would. Nevertheless, here goes! 1) they serve gas! I find this very useful when going to a gas station! 2) they have a C store.. Wow.. They have potato chips, gum and all of that stuff that is so hard to find 3) although I have never dined out at a gas station, I suspect that their hot dogs taste very similar to other gas station hot dogs! Just remember, hot dogs are beef by products!. I would guess that gas station hot dogs are beef by by products! Eat at your own risk, and don't complain, it's your fault! 4) their car wash is convenient for a quicky but I don't expect a full detail for $6.99. Yes, there was once when the car wash did not work well! . I thought about Yelping and contacting the BBB as well as the attorney general but instead I simply told the cashier and they gladly gave me a rain check as well as a free hot dog, which I politely declined, even though I was appalled that a mechanical machine did not work properly on 1 out of 12 times that I have used it, I sucked up to this disaster and went about my day! 4) the staff is always welcoming with great sense of humor! On those occasions, when a staff member may not be super friendly, I just think to myself, that maybe he is just trying to digest one of those gas station hot dogs! May not recommend vehicles as large as doolley's and bigger. The brush spins could be more sensitive and less harsh. I don't pay much attention to gas stations, I'll admit. However, I tend to be an early-riser and a couple of years ago I started grabbing coffee when I fueled up at this particular spot. I would see the same man at the cash register, Harold. Many times while I was paying for coffee, Harold would be joking with a number of their patrons as they breezed in and out. Debating politics, religion, fashion, you name it. All in a 10-second clip. Always with a smile and a hardy laugh. Joining in the discussions many times is the manager, Kathy, who appears deceptively shy at first blush. The two of them will raise the roof with a rousing round of Jeopardy-worthy knowledge of world events, science and DIY tips! It's my favorite way to start my morning when I'm filling up my coffee cup. Come in for the gas, the coffee and the thoughtful discourse. read more

It's a gas station, it has gas, it has a car wash and it has a little mini mart as well. When Cherry is dirty and her tank is empty I go to Chevron to fill her up and get her clean . She likes it and so do I. The sales people in the mini mart are always friendly and the store is always clean. They also always have my Dasani and Diet Coke for me. read more

I'm a recent transplant to West Seattle, and I decided to try this car wash today for the first time. I spent $10, and the "car wash" dribbled a little water on the car, and that was it. The brushes never came on, and the car went out just as dirty as it went in. The $10 was an expensive life lesson-never again! At the end of March, I took my truck through the carwash. As the carwash starts... I realize that the car wash machinery, on the left site of my car, is coming right at my side mirror. Well, the machinery grabbed my mirror and dragged it across the surface of the door, then it dragged it back in the other direction, broke it off and sent it flying. There was nothing I could do. My mirrors are super solid and sturdy, the machinery had to break through a steel rod to remove the mirror from the car. The gentleman in the car, right behind me, got out of his car, after I notified him that he might not want to go through. He witnessed the damage and has verified, in writing, to the manager of the station/car wash that I was placed correctly in the middle of the car wash. I got bids for the damage which came to $800.00 to repair. The manager has declined to cover any repairs, saying that there are disclaimers and that the car wash was working correctly. Implying that I must, somehow be at fault. She said that the plastic on the machinery (on the side that decapitated my mirror) was cracked and that I had to have been too far over to the left for that damage to have occurred. She stated, that if the person who witnessed that I was correctly positioned in the car wash, would verify this to her,( i.e. that I was in the correct position, within in the car wash bay) that she would consider reimbursing me.The witness was kind enough to do so, in writing, and now she is refusing to cover the damages, saying the the car wash was working correctly and that there are disclaimers posted for damages to vehicles. I can understand disclaimers for scratches or a broken antenna, but not ripping your side mirror off your car and damaging the door panel, particularly when I have a witness verifying that I was placed in the correct position in the middle of the bay. I didn't even get a refund for the cost of the wash! Unbelievable, not the way to run a business! Check out the other posts! My car is not the first to be damaged. I would avoid going through this car wash! Use the brown bear! I will never, ever, put my car at risk by doing so, again. The dude behind the counter is always friendly and in a jolly mood...and not in that fake way as if it was forced or trained but that hes good peoples. I will never ever go there again after what happened. So until a few weeks ago, we were fairly regular customers to this gas station. My Durango is completely destroyed on the passenger side after going through their carwash and this happened three days after I had just recieved the car back from the body shop in great condition!!! It looks as though someone took a small chain and beat the car with it randomly all along the side. I noticed it after my husband and I took it through the wash and when we went back to tell the counter gal she could not have cared less. Not only did she not really acknowledge what had happened, she didnt come out to assess the damage. She did offer the store number and told me I could call the manager but the sign clearly states "Wash at your own risk." So, at that point I was clearly pissed and told her she should turn the wash off so as not to damage any other cars. She blew me off and went on about her bizz. So, who knows how many other cars incurred damages after us!!!! Unbelieveable!!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!! I know my boycott will not effect them but please dont wash your car there!! Make the extra treck to the Costco on 4th Ave S and get a better wash for less money!!! read more

DO NOT USE THIS CAR WASH!! I just came out of the car wash to discover paint chips all over my car, as well as small chips in my windshield and sunroof. Sure, brushes can be known to cause some scratches, but chips all over my car?! And to top it off, it didn't even give the car a good clean. read more

Friendly, convenient, but pricey. It is sometimes a real bear to get out of the parking lot as well.

UPDATE: ExtraMile devision of Chevron/Texaco Corp. has decided that wine in a c-store does not make enough profit so they have removed the wine isle and replaced it with bagged salty snacks. The last two (2) managers of this location, as well as I make 3, have opposed this decision with raw sales figures and been told we're wrong and/or lying. The fact is, the manufacturers/distributors & vendors of bagged salty snacks pay for shelf space. They pay directly to ExtraMile and in turn ExtraMile forces your local c-store to stock accordingly. So, next time you go to the Admiral Chevron, or any ExtraMile branded c-store, don't expect to find anything special. Only the basics that you can go buy at 7-Eleven or Arco for much less money. If you have to shop ExtraMile, I suggest you just buy the gas because Chevron/Texaco top tier gasoline is still the best, even though ExtraMile "Walmart-ed" the c-store selection while keeping the full-service, super-supreme, price for all those bags of salty snacks. Try another car wash. I took the "deluxe" car wash with two wash cycles and it didn't even get the bird droppings off my windshield. Also, a very weak rinse cycle and not enough time during the blow-dry cycle. read more
