I've been going to this Chevron the past few fill ups. Prices tend to be better from the other Chevrons in the area.

I used to come here when i had my car and it was cheaper gas and get a car wash. I come here with my cousin who gets his car wash every few months. Yes, we live in California... pant, the Bay Area... gasp, San Francisco where gas prices are a direct reflection of living costs in our fare city. This is why I drive fifteen to twenty minutes south to fill my rides when I'm running low. You see, it's fifteen minutes of street driving to reach the nearest Chevron station from my home anyway and the prices are anywhere from twenty cents to thirty cents higher per gallon with the various taxes in the City. Coming to this station, there is a Carl's Jr as well as a small market and car wash. In addition, I don't have to worry about random homeless people panhandling or offering to clean my windows for me. You get the idea how living in SF has changed and why so many families are migrating out. It bodes well for the suburbs but it saddens me to see my hometown lose much of its soul. read more

This was my first trip for a machine car wash at this chevron gas location. I should have known that this would not be a good place to wash my car as there was not a car lining up for a car wash. This place doesn't even deserve a Yelp star from Me. The car wash was super short and my car was still dirty. There were still mud caked on the car and the water spots were all still there. I paid 12 dollars for the supreme wash. What an incredible rip off. Don't make the same mistake as I did. I suggest to wash a car at the Shell station , just a few blocks up the road. read more

Chevron - Gas Stations Near Me - South San Francisco, California

Great location. Why? It's right across Costco Gas Station and they set their prices low compared to other gas stations due to the location of the area to stay competitive. I avoid the long lines for gas at Costco, and I'm a loyal Chevron customer so it's a win win for me. Grocery Outlet is also across the other side of the street and it's right off of El Camino. There's 3 ways to get in and get out so it's pretty convenient. You can do your shopping at Costco or Grocery Outlet and gas up in the same location. You can fill up here if you're heading down San Jose or further south. They have a car wash and plenty of junk food inside. I'll pass on the junk food, thank you very much. They have a total of 12 gas pumps so it's plenty enough for anyone in a rush. I do suggest you fill up in the morning though as it can be pretty challenging after 4 PM. Here's a tip: If you fill up in the morning, you get more gas as the temperature is colder. The colder it is, the more it condenses the gas underground. If you fill up later in the afternoon, especially after a hot day, the gas expands and most the the liquid that you will be pumping in will evaporate. Also, do not gas up at the fastest lever setting. The reason for this is you are pumping mostly vapors when you do this. I would suggest you set the setting at the lowest level to maximize your gas intake. You can thank me later by maybe paying for my gas. It's the least you could do by giving you my expertise. read more

I only buy chevron gas but never use the car wash. I also keep the receipt after every fill up.

This place get pretty busy because it has one of the best price for gas here in South San Francisco. But the line goes pretty fast since they have 12 gas pump. I'm giving this place a four stars because the two ladies that worked today closed the store 30min early before the store is supposedly to close at 9pm. I've seen customer trying to go in at 8:45pm but the store had already closed. How are you going to get business by closing the store early?? read more

It must've been my lucky day because gas was "cheap" at $3.89/gallon and I hit jack pot with the card readers. I got THREE card readers that did not work and a a lady who couldn't help me at the pump. I will only come back for the price of gas. Oh how I love premium gas. read more

Always has the cheapest gas price between the two Chevrons on Hickey. Pretty big station but ALWAYS super crowded with cars, it's like a parking war. There is also a convenience store connected with a Carl's JR & car wash. read more

My favorite Chevron gas station (Price!!). The price is always right for this quality gasoline probably due to proximity to Costco. Lines aren't always consistent, sometimes you wait sometimes you don't. If you're waiting, get in a line. The gas station, although averagely clean... could be cleaner. The windshield wiper fluid is always dirty. However, there's always towels and the trash isn't overflowing. I've always had pleasant experiences should I need to go inside the Extra Mile food store. It's always clean and well stocked. My favorite is the single Mexican ice cream bars near the front :) read more

DO NOT GET A CARWASH HERE! I wish I had read these reviews before I went here. I paid for the top of the line carwash, $9, which is supposed to be spot-free. 1. car was not clean, many spots left, windows still had lots of dog drool (yes on the outside). 2. certainly was not spot free (still dirty, still pretty wet). 3. left a scratch in my hood. this is a NEW car and the first carwash I have gotten. I was LIVID!! Spoke with the manager, but she had to go view the footage before she could help me. When she returned my call, she was unable to do anything to help me. I stated I was very disappointed, and that I would never use her carwash again, and I was still upset because of the 3 facts stated above. She then offered to let me go thru the carwash again for free. Umm, what, so my car can get more scratched? I'm thinking no. I then asked for my money back; she had to call the owner about this, but he said no. Big surprise there. WILL NOT RETURN to this carwash ever! read more

Consumers be careful. If you run your car through the car wash, your rim will naturally be guided into a portion of the track guidance for tires. And usually there is some type of neoprene or spongy material that will prevent the rim from scratching. However in the picture below you can see that it's metal on metal.I talked to their manager Roslyn who did nothing for me. She contacted her boss and I believe that he's not taking any other complaints from previous situations seriously. The only gas station with a working air pump when I had a low tire. And they turned it on for free when I bought a Diet Coke. Heroic.

Yeah, this place has gas that is one or two cents cheaper than the Chevron on the 400 block of Hickey, but at what price? I was getting gas here and a wash. Well, their car wash ripped off the whole wiper arm for my rear window. RIPPED OFF! Not just the rubber piece! THE WHOLE ARM! I called them multiple times and spoke to the manager, Amy. It took 9 calls for her to finally refer me to their home office. Allegedly she had tried calling me back after she "viewed" the security tape, since they did not find a wiper at the end of the day. You know, because wiper arms come off cars ALL the time, just because, right? And not because of a car wash. Long story short, no "good faith" efforts here. They would not repair my wiper arm... So, no more business from me, period, full stop. Update - Xtra Oil has 3 gas stations in the Bay Area, the other two are in Alameda and Berkeley. Don't go there either. read more

Has anyone seen San Francisco's ridiculous gas prices? I always come here to South City to get some cheap gas even if it's 10 cents cheaper. I came here recently and tell me why there was a line just to gas cars here. I don't blame anyone because gas is seriously too expensive as of right now. Ugh...I never had to go inside to pay with a debit card but had to today because their machine was broken. My boyfriend went in to put $35 in the tank. When he got to the pump, the cashier accidentally canceled the transaction. Wtf!? He had to go back inside and she asked him to repay. O.o are you serious?? We gave her the card again and went back outside to pump gas. That was at noon. I checked our bank account at 530 and they charged us TWICE! I called and spoke to someone who didn't know what he was saying. I asked for a manager and spoke to her. She went through her records and found our transaction. She said it was my bank's fault ...what?? How?? Then she said that I had to wait 1wk to get my money back. -_- so frustrating. Horrible customer service. I come here often to eat at Carl's Jr. Today was only the second time I've gassed up here. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! As before, when I gassed up or when I come to eat, there are so many cars, they often line up into the road. If you want to park to eat or shop, you often can't get to the lot. Today I waited 9 minutes for a pump. It would have been 7, but some selfish bitch cut in front of me and didn't offer an apology of any kind when I let her know how I had watched her drive up after I'd been waiting for the pump for 2 minutes. When I went inside, a man was yelling about the car wash (and I see a lot of complaints here about it, too). As for cheap gas, it's not worth the hastle for what may amount to $.50 in savings. This location consistently has the cheapest price for 89 in the area. For that, I give them 5 stars. Their pumps are always working, and there are PLENTY of them. BUT.... the parking lot is awkward, and people don't seem to understand how to get in and out without causing more awkwardness. read more

DO NOT USE THE SELF CAR WASH! I purchased the rain-x which is the highest wash you can get and my car came out with two scratches. One on the driver side door and one long scratch on the passenger side door. I called Roselyn who is the manager and she said it's not their responsibility and i probably did not see the scratches before because my car was so dirty. Ok? I purchased my car a couple months ago brand new free from scratches but Not anymore thanks to you chevron. Beware people! read more

This place is horrible customer service!! I was buying cigarettes for my self mom and grandma. I was told that I had to use debt only because it was over the limit to use credit. Wtf!!! I have never heard of this mess anywhere I asked if I can do separate transactions I was told no I even showed them that my id matched my card I was told no ! They will never get my service here ever!!!! This makes no sense and you have signs all over the place for extra charges for things but no sign saying this foolery ! This is actually my favorite Chevron just based on lower gas prices and it has a decent carwash when compared to most other carwashes I've been to. And also I can get a decent basic carwash for $4 bucks when I spend $20 on gas, I get a $2 discount; I think it might even be "with $15 minimum gas purchase" You can't beat that price on a carwash. Prices are significantly lower than Chevron stations in San Francisco; usually between 20 and 24 cents lower than the Chevron at the corner of 19th avenue and Junipero Serra in SF and go further into SF and it gets even much more expensive than that! So when combining my 20 cents per gallon "Safeway Just For U" savings and the 20-24 cents less per gallon I can actually save 6 or 7 bucks on a fill up. The bad thing about this gas station is that there is always a line and a wait for an available pump. Not a line that extends out of the gas station and backed up around the corner or anything like that, but coming into the station from Hickey Blvd all of the many pumps are being occupied most of the time and you have to sit there and wait while people seem to take their sweet time and then you see a pump open up and someone behind you sneaks in there or someone coming around from another direction cuts in front of you; if you try to go for it and move your car to that newly available pump, someone sneaks in there from who knows where and you lose your spot in line. It's always like that during regular business hours. I can't give a gas station too high of a rating because it's just a gas station but I am writing this review and taking two stars off in the hopes that the manager or owner will see it and address the following issues. I do not know how to get in touch with the manager here but they need to train some of their employees a little better though! some of them seem to not even understand basic English. Yesterday I went in for a $20 splash and go as I was in a hurry and just needed enough while my Just For U catches up again. I see that they have the cigarettes that I smoke with the 50 cent per pack instant coupons on them which saves me an extra dollar and especially with the typical special lowered price when you buy 2 packs at a time. I asked for 2 packs of Marlboro Special Blend Lights and one of the girls grabs the one box of them that does not have the instant 50 cent coupon, I say "Yes those but I want two and can I have the ones with the coupon on them please" she didn't understand what I was asking her and puts that pack back and then goes left and right and up and down the cigarettes while I'm trying to tell her "No you had it right the first time! the ones with the coupons though .. no the special blend lights! I just want the ones with the 50 cent coupons and two of them" while I'm pointing directly to them. She rings me up scanning each pack instead of entering the code used for the promotional price on two. It comes up something like 17.43 for two and I didn't even check if they have the promotional deal but most places do on the Marlboro Special Blends. I don't remember if the price I was told was 17.28 or 17.83 or what somewhere in-between but all I know is that it comes out to 13.92 for two packs; more than three dollars less for two packs at the Chevron at John Daly Blvd where I usually buy my cigarettes when purchasing two packs and with the instant coupons that they have and sometimes don't have; That can't be right!! so I just assume that the girl who was nice and cute and all, just didn't know how to ring those up correctly. Or maybe they just don't offer a discount price at that gas station but I doubt it as it's more likely that the pricing is set by the distributer and not the gas station. If I hear back from someone, I'll change my review to 4 stars or delete it entirely but until then, it's just another 2 star review. read more

You can gas almost anywhere. But! To get gas that's not high in price is a challenge. The chevron on hickey blvd in south San Francisco is always at or just below the gas price of say Costco. There's a Carl's jr inside the gas station which is pretty cool. A car wash as well rounds out a pretty good gas station. read more

The screw cover for my wiper arm was missing after going through the car wash. In addition, I had long and mutiple scratches on the roof of my 1998 Toyota 4Runner. Pissed the hell out of me! 9 bucks for a car wash....not TOO bad. And it did get the puke off the passenger side door! Don't ask how it got there. Just keep in mind that wine tasting should never be done on an empty stomach. Anyway, to use the car wash you have to go inside and pay in advance, then enter a code at the machine near the entrance of the wash. Convenient if you're in a hurry, but if you want a quality job, the hand wash places in SSF are the best option. read more

Quick, lot buboo, everything auto, but the drying is not so good, can't dry most part of car. The most thing worry me is the track that holds your tire, it will scratch your tire, and hard to aim it without someone help you. I may not come back even it close to Costco. I just filled up here, and it was 8 cents cheaper per gallon than the Chevron up the block, right off of 280. Each of the pumps has its own squeegee and window washer fluid, and there's no talking commercials, so I could fill my car in peace. read more

I had JUST gotten a car wash when the next day a bird pooped on my hood and my neighbor trimmed his weeds and got plant specs all over the passenger side. Not about to spend another $20 at Westlake, I came here to get a quick rinse at the drive thru. $6 for a basic wash and dry left my car looking great. One of the cheapest gas stations around - today it was only $0.02/gallon more than Costco down the street and the lines are non-existent
