We came back to a cold, wet Manchester and decided to go to Linguine and try and get a table. I walk past this restaurant many times a week and there are always people in it and often very busy. We got there after 6.30pm and was told by the Manager that our table was required by 8pm, after looking at his tablet again, we had to be out by 7.30pm. Not sure how many covers there are but there were only four other tables taken. We sit down, tucked by the bar area and look at the menu. I asked a waiter which wine goes well with seafood and was given an idiots guide to the wine menu. His was Italian and his English wasn't good so I opted for a house white. Our food was served by another waiter as I wasn't sure whether the earlier gentleman was just a barman. We didn't have to wait long for our seafood pasta and pizza. The food came and it tasted very good. Unfortunately, I did not take photos as our service wasn't as friendly as I would have liked. The manager served our food. We ate our tasty food and kept looking around and seeing not many other customers arrive and wondering why he would lie about all the tables being occupied. We were dressed smart/casual for a Saturday night. Sadly, we didn't have any starters or desserts as we were very time conscious which also ruined our experience of the food. We asked for the bill, paid less than 10% tip and went over the road to the local Co-op to buy dessert and walked home feeling disappointed that we felt rushed and would have preferred to have dined in a different restaurant or got takeaway. As mentioned earlier, I am hoping for a better experience when I return in a couple of weeks time.

We had a mixture of starters , including mussels, ribs - truly amazing, the sauce was delicious, garlic flatbread, and sardines which were one of the specials that evening. Plates all cleared we started on mains which included steaks, chicken, veal, lasagna and the gluten free spaghetti with spicy arrabiata sauce, again all clean plates. We shared a dessert as everyone was full, it was supposed to be sticky toffee pudding but was actually a chocolate lava cake, glad it ended up as that as it was absolutely amazing. The owner who was our server was great fun, brought humor to the table and was very humble when praised for the excellent service and food. Will definitely be back when I'm next in the area.

I like the fact that they have split the place into 2 sections so there is now a bar area where you can have a cocktail or glass of wine before your meal. They also offer a small snack menu in the bar if you just want something light and quick to eat. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was good. My calamari was massive and cooked just right. The goats cheese crostini was a big hit with my friend and the bit I sampled melted in the mouth. The seafood pizza hit the spot but having looked at the pasta dishes I wish I'd ordered one of those instead as they looked so fresh and yummy. Anyway it gives me an excuse to go back and try Vida again.

The pizzas are freshly made and came out on a pizza peel. Although I asked for knives and forks we ate the pizza with our hands like everyone else. I ordered prociutto and funghi and my partner ordered capprioccosa. The only disappointment with this is that the toppings were sparingly placed on the pizza. The ambiance of the place is really chilled and it seems great for kids with a kids menu, 4 high chairs and a few dads bought their kids in. The manager was milling around chatting to a table that I didn't realise he worked there until he served us our pizza. Still over priced, but I would like to try the buffet Fridays along with some Prosecco :).

The Italian Job opens late on Friday and Saturday when you can dance the night away in the disco with the bar open until 1.30am. The app continued to extend the delivery time until we had been waiting two hours and fifteen and the restaurant was due to close. At this point the Deliveroo rider had been waiting at the restaurant for 15 minutes. We were growing increasingly anxious that we wouldn't get our food (that they would cancel the order) and then we wouldn't be able to get food because it was getting so late. The app had no way to contact the restaurant, but said to call the restaurant directly. I tried to call the restaurant multiple times and recieved both line busy messages and had my calls be hung up on. We called repeatedly and repeatedly got no answer. Finally, at 10:25 the rider got our pizza (2.5 hours after we had ordered), but we didn't get to eat until 10:40... A bit frustrating. Like I said, the food is good, but the lack of timeliness, the lack of communication... it was incredibly unprofessional and honestly anxiety inducing. At least have a message on your restaurant number. And if you're SO busy you can't do delivery... don't offer it as an option.

Oh no, this was home - cooking at its best and way above restaurant standard. What I mean is if you set out to make the best moussaka with the best ingredients this is what you'd get. As it was takeaway we had a few fabulous beers by 7 brothers that they brewed from Kellogg's coco pops and Rice Krispies from cereals that would otherwise just be wasted; instead it becomes beer and the brewery waste given over free to farmers to feed pigs. The takeaway food we got here was about £10 a head so darn good value really for the quality and deliciousness. And as I thought about it, Chinese takeaway prices in particular have risen unjustifiably year on year with food quality taking a real nose dive so next time we'll think of this Greek long before over paying for rubbish food. So if you have a Chinese local takeaway, and you are paying near a fiver for a starter and seven quid for a main please become more discerning. If the food isn't top notch now start saying so as it's the only way to bring higher standards back or you'll be paying through the nose for rubbish.

The lamb kabob (insert heavy sigh). It was way over cooked, and strangely didn't taste of anything yet still tasted not very good, if that makes sense. I almost took hubby's eye out after trying to slide a piece off the stick with my fork, and it was as if it was stuck with glue..finally giving way and flying across the table into my darlings baby blues. There was rice and a giant pile of shredded lettuce along with some raw veg (I have no problem with raw veg at all so that was one part of the meal I enjoyed).
