Delicious socca -- a must-try if you're visiting Nice! We took a tour of Old Town Nice and our tour guide recommended this joint for socca. It's was essentially a thin, crispy savory crepe made of chickpea flour. Vegan and gluten-free! We were in Nice during the off-season, so there wasn't a long line. The socca was served warm and was the perfect light lunch! Only downside is you must order a drink in addition to food in order to grab a table.

If you are looking for authentic Nice food, this is the spot. This spot sells Socca (similar to pancakes that can be found in Nice only). As I was walking by there was a long line for this location which was disappointing. I got lucky on my way back there was no line. So I was able to order Socca, they were out of this world. They tasted really good. It was a new flavor/ taste to me which I really enjoyed. Lady who helped me was very friendly and nice. She was very patient while taking the order since I was not sure what to get. Her wearing an apron made the experience more enjoyable. It gave positive vibes. There is a seating area across from the store. If you buy a drink, you can sit and enjoy your Socca. You can also get them to go. The ambiance of the seating area was so calming and nice. It is decorated with the antics. You can find a phone from maybe early 80's, drawing on the wall was nice too. If you like to try authentic Locations not touristy spots. I highly recommend this location since I saw locals order food from here too.

Nice local fare for an economical lunch. The only drawback is the queue. There is almost always a wait and it moves slowly. I don't know why it takes so long except the production cannot keep up with the demand. One alternative is to find the bike which sells socca at the market. Socca is a nice snack made of chickpea batter. Think dosa with a thicker skin. Also, pan bagiat, nicoise salad in a sandwich. There are also a variety of pizzas, desserts, and pies. What should be a simple takeaway can take anywhere from half an hour or more. Hence, not the full five stars.

Local small shop. The line was super duper long (took maybe an hour), but wanted to try it out because I heard of lots of good things. When I finally got to the front, the workers were super nice! The soccas were huge!! And were flavorful! Also a good price! They had other food items, but I just wanted to try the socca. Would go back, even with the long line. There's also a seating area across the street either tables, but I just took it to go since there are tons of other shops in the area.

when in Nice, go eat some socca. a crispy, savory flatbread of milled chickpea and olive oil, which to purists must be baked in a woodburning stove. well here it's on a fire-spitting drum and Theresa's socca sells as fast as it cooks to a never ending queue. sprinkle some black pepper and pair with a cup of ice-chilled rosê. fast food, french riviera style.

We sat outside on the covered and insulated patio. They also had heat lamps, so it felt ok in February outside. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. My husband ordered the seafood spaghetti which had a light red sauce and seafood including mussels. He really enjoyed it. I had the lightly fried seafood plate. Check my picture for what's on it. The shrimp was slightly over done but still good. The fish and calamari were breaded and seasoned well. I've never had fried sardines (whole body included; I've only had canned sardines in the past) so I wasn't prepared to eat these. I tried it but it wasn't my preference. The salad was nice and fresh. We also enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine. La Voglia was quick and affordable but good.

Located along the main street with shopping and restaurants galore, this Italian, street facing patio restaurant stands out. Two things to note before dining; 1. Everything on the menu is very large portions and 2. Each guest seated must order food. This is a busy area where weights can build up and seats are reserved for those people who will eat and drink. That being said, the food is absolutely outstanding and the two times I've been here they have been very accommodating with large groups without reservations. This is where I fell in love with French rosé and the price point on both food and drinks is a good value. Like I said, you will be taking food with you when you leave if you don't come hungry! I can't wait to return to Nice and when I do, this will definitely be on my list of stops
