His timing was not great, but there were some weather issues, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He said he could do my whole job in 4 days, which, even though I know little about landscaping, seemed ambitious. I was proved to be correct. As things took longer to accomplish, Josh then became less responsive. He started taking other jobs and giving them priority over mine, even though he had started mine before taking those on. He would even tell me that he had to go do other work rather than finishing mine. When I would ask why, he wouldn't give me a direct answer, nor did he ever apologize. He would just listen, and then tell me when he thought he could come again - which he often didn't follow up on. When finally within a day or two of being finished (and after not showing up for more than a week and not responding to calls and texts), he finally came late one day to fix the irrigation that had completely blown up (for which I sent emergency texts). Uncapped sprinkler heads that were meant to be capped, major disconnects of parts he had installed that now were gushing water (unbeknownst to me because they would go off at night...Can't wait to see my water bill for this month!), other areas flooding the neighbor's driveway. I didn't realize any of this until I manually checked the irrigation one day myself because plants were looking iffy. This while we were discussing the next job already of re-doing my backyard irrigation. Didn't inspire much confidence. While he was fixing that, I asked him to install 2 plants that had been neglected to be done prior. He did so...but I've just figured out that he didn't connect the irrigation to them. WTH??? That was the last I saw or heard from him. I made the mistake of paying him in advance the time before the emergency (going over budget after he told me we would be well within prior) to get the last materials and finish the install... and now he's simply gone. Part of the final completion of the job is some curbing (but the rest of the job was to be completed weeks ago, and that would be the last bit). He kept telling me he was waiting to hear from the company about a final installation date, sometime in July (this started in May). Now that he's disappeared, I called the company myself to check it out, and learned that I'm not even on their books and they didn't know who I was (another client of Josh's is...the only time they've dealt with him). As that's a $2K+ cost and I'd already given him money for that, that's now a big deal. It's really unfortunate and disappointing. The work that was done (other than the irrigation disaster) was pretty good (not fabulous) and my yard looks much better than it did when it was just a lawn. As stated, Josh seemed like a nice guy, doing what he can to run his family business. But whether he's just completely overwhelmed and can't handle it, or has intentionally ripped me off, the result is the same... I'm out a bunch of dollars for an incomplete project that I have no indication he has any intention of completing, and therefore will have to spend thousands more to finish the project with someone else for materials (plants, cobblestone, paving) I've already paid for and will now have to purchase again. So your call... wanna take the risk? (Josh...I'll gladly update this if you'll contact me and finish the job)

Could not be happier with the job Josh did installing our new privacy fence here in Raindance! His…read morework is excellent, setting a high standard for this type work. He was prompt, professional and cleaned up when finished; I would recommend Josh without reservation.
