I visit Chi Nails regularly (or as regularly as my schedule allows) and I love the services offered there. I don't usually call for an appointment but I choose the times I go based on when I know they're likely to be slower. All the staff has always been super friendly to me, and I love that they are very quick but thorough with my nails. I have a slightly odd request of having two nails shorter than the rest, and having them shaped very short and natural; in a nutshell, to look entirely natural and the shorter nails are for my job. I have been at salons in the past where I had to explain this every single time I went in, even if I had the same technician. I have had other salons tell me it's impossible to do them that short as requested! Chi Nails has always done a perfect job and I hate when I am out of town long enough to have to go elsewhere while I'm traveling... The man that did my nails made it feel like I was being too picky and made rude comments like "are you serious" when I brought up a minor issue I had with his work. I originally asked for a design and I guess him and I were not on the same page because he did something completely different than what I asked for and when he took it off he didn't try to do anything else design wise. My nails aren't terrible but telling me that you are charging me a fill in and then it coming out to 60+ tip is just wild when you count in the rude comments. My issue is that people come to get their nails done to feel good about themselves and how they look and I left feeling pretty shitty. read more

This place is sad. That's the best way I can describe it. The Salon itself is a little gross looking and unprofessional. There were wires and ductape everywhere, product scattered all over the salon and very old nail polish disorganized on/in counters. Seemed very outdated and not spa like at all. When you walk in you can tell the owners don't take pride in their establishment. 99% of the time I don't care about that if the work is awesome, but here it was not. It was definitely rushed set of nails he gave me. They were mis-shapen, even after I corrected him. They were very very thick and he filed them down with a hand file instead of an electric one. I left feeling jipped. I won't be going back. If the owners don't take pride in their services then it's a hard pass for me. read more

Do not assume that your customers are unable to understand Vietnamese. I understood everything that was said about me and it was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. I went for a pedicure with a friend and left disappointed. I will never be coming back or refer anyone. I didn't want to cause a scene because the other customer that was sitting with us was kind and really pleasant. I didn't want to leave her there to deal with the aftermath of an argument. I also suggest deep cleaning the place and not smoking directly in front of your shop. read more

Great little salon! Came here while on vacation and got the deluxe pedicure. I had a little bit of a sunburn on my legs that I hadn't realized and the nail take was extra careful without taking away from the experience. Ok, so my friend and I call ahead of time to both get manicures. The women on the phone couldn't even decide whether or not she wanted to book the appointments. We arrive, we are not greeted. We were just told to sit down, so we did. My friend did her manicure but did not use cuticle oil or lotion before she cut the cuticles, ouch! She got her nails french tipped and they honestly looked like shit. She paid $18 for them. My turn....The container my friend used to soak in gets poured out, new water gets poured in and nothing is rinsed and my hand gets to sit and soak, eww! Health risks! Once again, no cuticle oil or lotion before the cuticles get cut, Ouch! Next the guy is filing my nail where he was hurting me so I withdraw my hand back. Polish gets slapped onto my finger nails, and as I'm drying my nails in the fan.....the guy says to me... "Are you going to sit here all day and read the whole entire magazine?" "You're done". "You can go now." What? Did we just get kicked out after we tipped them $10 and couldn't even let our nail polish dry. My point, DON'T GO TO CHI NAILS. It is not worth your time. I wish I had checked Yelp before coming here! I got a mani pedi done. I asked for what the photo looked like, they completely butchered it and then charged me extra for what I didn't ask for. Sooo I left unhappy. A day and a half later my gel nails, which I also payed extra for, started to peel. I came back in at the time they told me to so they could be fixed. A worker started to buff my nails, and then a walk in came in. He left me sitting at the station to go start her pedi. I brought my mom and I here when they first opened and they were one of the worst I have ever been to:( unprofessional, didn't shape my nails the way I wanted, didn't clean my nails underneath after my full set. Pedicures were Sub par...not the best but just met expectations nothing that will stick in my mind as a great pedi. Being from Seattle, I don't know what is with ppl doing a horrible beauty service job in a small town:( but anyway, the residents of the town aren't the nicest either....I have never gone back and never recommended anyone to go there! This was my place to go when my other nail person failed me, until today! I stop in after a long drive from work in Fort Walton to get my nails done. I have been going here for about 2 years now and have always had a great experience. I have gotten pedicures and manicures (both regular and gel polish) and they have always done a great job. They seem to be cleanly; I always see them wash or clean things off before use and they are very nice. Got a standard manicure yesterday and it smudged as soon as I got home (my mistake - was making dinner) and I went back in today and they fixed it with no problem (or cost). During a pedicure once, the woman who works there asked if I had been to Chi Nails previously, and when I replied yes, she sincerely thanked me for being a repeat customer (they appreciate their clients!) First I should have walked out when he began the process with tools that were used and I told him no I wanted clean tools... he went and I think cleaned them. The nail tech must have been new was scared to cut my nails, marginal job on cutical clean up on my pedi. Using used emery boards and foot scrubbers this is disgusting and not clean. I ordered up for the scrub he had no clue how to do it and never washed it off with water he used a wash cloth to wipe off that he had been using on his hands. I'm not sure if FL has hygiene laws or not like CA but if they do they are not being followed in FL. $$ marginal costs for what I got. Went home and washed my legs and feet really well. read more

1 star. Yes. One. Star. I read the negative reviews and decided to go anyways due to a recommendation by a friend who is a regular customer. I walked in wanting to get a pedicure and manicure. I asked how much it would be for a gel pedicure and was told it depended on the level pedicure I wanted. I opted for the one right above the basic and was told it was $35 which was fine with me, slightly steep but not outrageous. I get in the pedicure chair and everything's fine, the guy working makes a few side comments on my long toes, which was weird but I mean whatever can't knock a place for lack of social tact. Anyways while I'm getting my toes done I ask how much it'd be for a full set, they informed me that with the pedicure the total would be $104!!!! Is this a joke? When I asked for a break down of prices they tell me my pedicure is $60!! $60? What the hell!? Apparently my pedicure was $35 and gel was an extra $25. That was not disclosed to me when I agreed on the price. Now I'm not a local I was just in town visiting a friend and maybe they knew that and took advantage or maybe their prices are that insane but I've never heard of a pedicure costing that much. (The other $45ish dollars was for a full new of acrylic nails which I decided not to get) After my toes were cleaned up the gentlemen moves me from the spa chair to one of the manicure chairs (odd but no big deal) he then proceeds to sit in front of me and prop my feet on his leg one at a time alternating between each which was so bizarre. Why didn't I just stay in the spa chair? And he keeps blowing on my feet for some reason. Maybe to blow off dust...? Or fibers from the air or whatever but all I could think was "can you stop breathing on my feet, that you have propped up on your leg nonetheless. The polish job was sub par also. I rarely write reviews that sound this whiney it's was just such a weird, unnecessarily expensive, mediocre pedicure. If I ever come back into town I will not be coming back here. Incompetent nail techs, dirty, and long wait time! The girl that did my pedi dug into my toe drawing blood and wouldn't stop despite me complaining of pain. Now I have a nasty infection and on antibiotics for 10 days! The other tech that did my mani had NO idea what she was doing...couldn't file my nails straight or even the same length to save her life. She ruined my nice natural nails that took me so long to grow out. And to top it off I waited FOREVER for the crappy nail job. My nails looked better when I went in than when I left. CHI Nails is without a doubt the dirties nail place I have ever been to. I normally don't like to write bad reviews but I believe people need to know how bad this place is. The review right before mine is exactly what happened to me. One of the tech nails made the side of my toe bleed. Once I felt pain I immediately asked her to stop but she continued going, I actually had to move my leg away from her. The next day I had pus on the side of my toe and I had to disinfect it with peroxide oxygen. Also, they re-use their gloves! If after reading this review you still want to go there make sure you see them taking new gloves from a box. read more

By far the worst manicure and pedicure I have had...didn't remove my cuticles...didn't even push them back...left gel polish all over my surrounding skin...they were jagged and rough, no massage...I DIDN'T EVEN WASH MY HANDS BEFORE THE POLISH WAS APPLIED!!! She literally painted the filing dust into my polish....that duster brush doesn't remove anything! Said they could accommodate 4 of us at once but never said it would be at our sacrifice as they moved between us and gave incomplete services....my hands literally dipped into the water when she removed them and applied the cuticle gel...didn't push them back (acted like she did but the implement never contacted my nail bed) and started cutting....resulting in nothing being removed....even worse story on my feet.....will never go there again!!! read more

Chi Nails got a bad review or two, but you'll notice there's nothing new there for several years on Yelp. Fortunately for me, I moved to Navarre in January 2011, and only one time did I have to come back on another day because they got too busy to serve me. Yes, appointments have to be a little bit "flexible", but that's because they are servicing a lot of retirees and tourists, and this is Florida where the vacationers get lost finding the places they book appointments and the pace is slower. The pedicure and nail art each time were as great as I ever got in Japan, and I had some of the best pedicures of my life there! Ask for the owners, Tim or Tina, and you will NOT be disappointed! Just be able to be a little flexible, because sometimes walk-ins will get in the way, as someone else will not show up and they'll take someone off the street and go a little overtime. You'll get a great, sanitary, professional job and we (my friends, neighbors and I) are and were satisfied above and beyond. Go for it, and I miss you since recently moving, Tina and Tim!! read more
