This butcher is a hidden gem in Bankstown and seems to have a very loyal Vietnamese following. This is the place to go to for all the Vietnamese style marinated meats that you find commonly in Vietnamese cuisine.
The highlight here is glorious "nem nuong", a Vietnamese marinated pork mince (make sure you get the pork and not the chicken). You can make these into patties and grill them or do it how the Vietnamese do it, on skewers and grilled for your next barbeque. They have an impressive selection of pre-marinated meats (think pork in lemongrass) that will just make your next meal or barbeque quick and easy to prepare.
Whenever I have a barbeque I always buy a nice selection of meats that never fail to impress the guests. Also when I'm feeling a little bit lazy, I grill up some of these meats and have them with fresh vegetables in summer rolls served with some yummy nuoc cham (fish sauce) dipping sauce. A very quick and delicious meal.
Please be aware that the address is actually 319 Chapel Road SOUTH not Chapel Road. Once you make it to Chapel Road South you will notice a lot of Vietnamese shops and you will easily be able to spot the butcher. read more
