Only gonna comment only on the food cause the service was super fast & I was served by what appeared to be the polite Manager. He was considerate enough to ask if I wanted cutlery & The Beef Rigatoni was very good. The pasta was al-dente but that's to my taste. Flavour profile of the sauce was very good but not great. It was missing something but I don't know what. Cheesy...yes, creamy...yes, missing something...yes! The next time I'm in Calgary I just might go back.

This is hands down my favourite restaurant and always will be!! I usually stick to the same dish every time I go - Fettuccine du Chef, however they have so many other amazing items on their menu. The Con Van Ravioli is also amazing if you like crab & mango As a starter you have to have the Insalata Mista salad & bruschetta! Ive gotten the calamari a couple times but it is not my favourite. To make things even better they offer a "Pasta Frenzy" every Sunday-Monday-Tuesday where you get cheap pasta all day! COVID-19: Chianti Café & Restaurant has taken a lot of precautions to keep their staff & customers safe during this time. Before they reopened for dine-in (YAY!) they offered take out & all day/everyday Pasta Frenzy which I took advantage of once a week! Though they are now mostly back to normal, they've even extended their Pasta Frenzy until the end of August so if you're planning on giving this place a try I would definitely recommend going soon!

It's been a while. Had a shrimp Bam Bam rated very good, a yalla shrimp sort of small and maybe 1 less shrimp? A shrimp Alfredo was ok, the kitsilano? penne had 1 piece of sausage and raw red peppers so so to bad. Tiramisu was not à cake more like lady fingers with Chocolate sauce poured on, see photo. Surprisingly very very tasty.

    Al Pacifica

The food was fantastic, it is every time I go. I got the Al Pacifica and it was bursting with flavour. The reason I can only give it a two star was because of the service we got seated fast and that was great but our server was very rude to us and spoke to us once. We had asked for straws and waited for 20 minutes, we finally had to go to another server to get him to grab them for us. While trying to pay we sat for another 25 minutes to be able to get our servers attention. Love the food but this is not the first time I have had a poor experience with one of there servers

Great value! Delicious fresh pasta, the service was quick and cheerful! We were seated right away. The Kitsilano and the Carciofi were very yummy. Right now every pasta creation is $12.99. Can't go wrong with that price.

Great food! There are so many dishes to choose from. You get fresh bread to start, and the service is quick and very friendly. Though I cannot remember the actual names of the dishes my group ordered, the Mediterranean ravioli, 3 cheese ravioli, and the pesto gnocchi were amazing, a must try. To finish the meal off, we ordered a cheesecake, and that was fantastic.Chianti's is also very accommodating, they have numerous vegetarian options, and I believe they have gluten-free pasta too. Not to mention, the portion sizes are HUGE and very filling. Go on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday for $9.99 pasta dishes! Overall, efficient and welcoming staff, awesome, affordable food, and nice ambiance. Will definitely come again, a great restaurant if you like Italian food!

I went here for a friend's birthday. Service was great and the restaurant is very accommodating when it comes to making changes to your order. For example, you want fettucine noodles instead of linguine? No problem? You can't decide between two pastas? You can get both and change the sauces. My favourite bites - crab dip, fettucine with garlic, and the veal was tasty. The reason for not giving more stars was the ravioli was hard and flavourless and I didn't like the watery sauce. The trio of stuffed pasta appetizer was also a pass. I found out that the spaghetti, linguine and fettucine are homemade, but the rest of the pastas are not. For the price, I can see why this is a popular spot. If you order the right thing, the food is very tasty. Best time to go is Sunday, Monday and Tuesday for $9 pasta.

We decided to try Chianti Cafe, Willow Park on a Tuesday night at about 6:30 p.m. and it was busy, busy, busy... that has to be a good sign right? Eventually, after a small intercultural misunderstanding (Marie became Mary and three people that just arrived got seated first), we got seated on the patio to enjoy the sun in Calgary. We ordered. Our Bruschetta never arrived, but no biggie. Our main courses were delicious and don't let the portion sizes deceive you. Pasta can be very filling. We opted out of dessert. Our bill came to $43.00 for three people, unbeatable! We will defiantly give Chianti another go. There was a sign that made me chuckle which I thought I should share with you... Heaven is... During that time no one checked in on us, or offered us any extra bread despite knowing food was delayed. Finally we asked our waiter at the 1 hour mark when food was coming and he said there were still 3 tables ahead so maybe another 15-20 minutes. After we finally received our food, the manager came and checked in. When we told him we waiting an hour he simply replied "It's a Friday night and we're fully seated. Thanks for waiting." Overall, the lack of empathy from the staff, the under seasoned pasta, and the overcooked risotto made this a very underwhelming experience. We will not be coming back. PS. No pictures because we inhaled our food.

Yesterday, we had a wonderful dinner at the new Buon Giorno, downtown on 17th. We hadn't been there…read morefor many years, and we wanted to try the brand new one. Its reputation is glowing, and many of the old staff have stayed on. Also, we were celebrating one year out of hospital for Linda - a long road of recovery that has led to her feeling better than ever. The remake of this restaurant, just down the street from the original location, was as good as it can possibly get. It was an icon, and it most certainly is even more so today. The décor, the design, the layout inside - were exceptional. What a great place! And the vibe! It buzzed with life and enjoyment, at the perfect level so you could still hear and have a comfortable conversation. This is a happy place. The service, from a professional and happy server who had been with Buon Giorno for 25 years, cheerful and attentive, was excellent. We started off with a Calamari Napolitana as a shared antipasto. Fried and breaded calamari, in a spicy tomato sauce, exactly to our liking. Delicious! We agreed that this was the best fried calamari we had ever tasted - and we have tasted quite a few. For my main, I chose the Gamberetti e Capesante Livornese - or, if you like, the shrimp and scallops in a light white wine tomato sauce with fresh basil. This was wonderfully delectable. It made me very happy. The serving size was perfect. Linda chose the Cannelloni Fiorentina, stuffed with veal, prosciutto and spinach in a bechamel tomato sauce. Oh, she loved it! All the flavours were perfectly integrated. The serving size was a bit larger than necessary (a personal observation), so some was left on the plate, but it was as delightful as it could get. We finished off with perfect deserts. I have to say something about Italian restaurants in Calgary. There are scores of them. The new Buon Giorno is one of the very best we've been to anywhere in Canada. Buon Giorno is right up there with the absolute best. No, I don't know anyone who works there, or any of the ownership, nor do I have a financial interest in this gem. But I am interested in supporting exceptional local restaurants. This is one of them. We sat down ordered 2 bottles of Prosecco for our table of 4. Unfortunately, they didn't have orange juice .. in order to make a mimosa's quite a bummer. So we were in a pasta mood and ordered the lasagna and the cannelloni. Sad news for the cannelloni: we felt they were flavorful, but too dry inside. Cannot recommend. The lasagna was very tasty, but for my liking it had very little cheese. We did eat all the portion though ;) it was flavorful. Italian cuisine varies from region to region, we were expecting a plate covered in bechamel for the cannelloni and there was none. So it did not meet expectations... but the pasta was good, home made, thin, and the sauces were flavorful... so a solid 3 stars for good quality. I do have to say that our waiter approached us to ask if all was to our liking, and only at the end did I disclose our disappointment... I didn't know what they could do to make it better...and we were so hungry we had already eaten half anyways... well in this they excelled as they comped our cannelloni and gave us a very good tiramisu to top it off! Definitely 5 star customer service! This is a local family owned restaurant that prides itself in having happy customers, and we are just passing by... nonetheless they really tried, and succeeded, in having us leave with a happy face. And that gives them a solid 4 star overall! Enjoy.
