We came to Calgary for a long weekend and a comedy show. When we arrived, we were tired and hungry, fortunately for us, The Keg Steakhouse + Bar was next door to our hotel. We popped in for a late dinner. Our waitress was so sweet, very accommodating, friendly, and professional. We aren't huge appetier people but we were famished. Tuna Tartar was the selection. It was HUGE. Delicious and so enjoyable! I nearly ordered a second one for my dinner. The meal was absolutely wonderful. He did the Wedge + Chicken. I settled for the Blackened Chicken, we were not disappointed. The martinis were HUGE! They were made ICE COLD and served in a frosty glass... my favorite. We couldn't give higher praise to The Keg, they did a great job and we look forward to returning next time we are in Calgary! read more

The Keg always delivers. Great food, perfectly cooked steaks, lots of choices on the drinks menu. Service is friendly and attentive. Comfortable dining room and bar. A heads up for the bar. It can be a bit rough with loud talk peppered with f bombs by some of the regulars. For business meetings or for family dining I suggest avoiding the bar and sitting in the dining room. read more

My partner & I came in from HighRiver to have early supper we've eaten at the 130 th location many times ... usually eat in lounge .. had sirloin steak, Caesar salad , and bread with two Caesars drinks . This steakhouse is connected to a hotel, so with any hotel restaurant my expectations weren't super high however, this place was absolutely delicious! I ordered my food to go and I got the Keg Burger that came with a side of fries and I also got the lemon tart dessert. This was easily one of the best burgers I have ever had (and I have tried a few burgers in my lifetime). It was incredible. I don't know how good the other items are on their menu but, you can't go wrong with the burger! The lemon tart was pretty good as well. If you're into lemon you would probably enjoy it. I could definitely see myself coming back to this restaurant and trying different items on the menu. If you're in the mood for a burger you can't go wrong with the Keg Burger!! read more

This was not my first visit to The Keg, but my first at this location. This one is co-located with a hotel and was somewhat smaller than others i had been to but was still very nice. The service was friendly, relaxed and very attentive. What i would consider as excellent. I had the baseball cut sirloin. It was absolutely outstanding. Prices were a little more reasonable than some other places in the area but this is still a high rent district and not cheap. My husband and I went to the Keg Steakhouse after a long day in Banff. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who had us seated in a comfortable cozy 2 person booth in the back in less than 5 minutes. The ambience, service, and food were very good. The other parts of the restaurant were louder than our area which might bother some customers. Came here on a Saturday night to celebrate my dad's 75th birthday. It was just my family of 4 and my parents. We had made reservations previously and after arriving a few minutes early we were seated quickly. I hadn't been to this Keg in a long time and forgot how big it was. The Keg in general is a favourite of our families. We were seated in a nice 6 person booth. A word of caution - it was quite dark in the dining room and my father had a bit of trouble navigating due to his poor eyesight; something to consider. Staff were all wearing masks while most patrons were not. We started the evening off with drinks. My son had orange juice while my daughter had orange crush. Something was off with the orange crush and so she asked for ginger ale instead. My father ordered Belgian Moon that was on tap which came with an orange wedge. This was a nice touch as most places I need to ask for one. My mother ordered a Jackson Trigg white. Next we dug into the appetizers we ordered. My father and I each had the French Onion soup - always great at the Keg. My wife ordered the escargot as per usual and it was great. The hot and fresh bread is also always a favourite with our family. The kids got the kids plate which consisted of carrots, celery sticks, orange slices, and crackers. It's complementary and it's great to have to feed the kids while they wait for their main meal. I also shared a Caesar salad with my wife that came with our main meal and my parents shared a garden salad. As for mains my wife and I always shared the Prime Rib Classic and it was really good. Some parts of it were more medium than medium rare but still good. We also added 2 lobster tails which were excellent. My son had the cheesy noodles which he wolfed down like there was no tomorrow. My daughter had the Keg burger and she finished it all. My parents shared the Filet Mignon and they both said it was excellent. For dessert the waiter gave my father a complementary dessert of which he chose the cheesecake. It was really tasty with a nice cookie crust on the bottom and sweet cherry sauce on top. He even got a nice birthday card. My wife and I chose to share the creme brulee which was excellent. My son had the ice cream with chocolate sauce which came with his kids meal. It just have been good because he finished it without any help which almost never happens. Washrooms were clean but did not use hands free soap dispenser, taps, or paper. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our waiter was excellent - attentive, friendly, and accommodating to our requests. It was a great evening to share with my father on his birthday. read more

Service, food, and price were amazing. They get my prime ribs at medium rare perfect every-time. Have gone here every year for my anniversary and never had a problem. Hostess and server are very nice and professional as what one expects at The Keg. The ambiance and decor set a very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. So we got a few dishes to share: MUSHROOMS NEPTUNE BAKED GARLIC SHRIMP GARLIC CHEESE TOAST Loved their signature starters. I was told their escargot are really good but I am not a big fan of escargot. So the mushroom Neptune was so cheesy and you can taste the crab meat in every bite. The baked garlic shrimps was cheesy too. Total of 6 small shrimps. It tasted good and best of all the butter at the bottom is great for dipping the small bun that came with it. Loved the garlic cheese toast. Made fresh and very garliciky and cheesy. Service was good. We came after work and it wasn't too busy at all. A few tables. But the location of this Keg is so central. Excellent food and service! We spent the night in Calgary on our way home from vacation. The restaurant is located in the Westin and was a short walk from our hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Keg since the hotel was downtown and the area looked somewhat deserted on a Sunday night. We shared an Escargot appetizer which was delicious. Prime rib is their specialty, and it did not disappoint! 2 of us had the prime rib and the others had a 2-pound lobster which was the special that night. Lobster is not cheap anywhere, but $65 for a 2-pound lobster was no more than I would pay at home in New England. Drinks and dessert (we all shared one!) were great as well. Salvatore provided exceptional service! A great meal, and if ever I return to Calgary I will certainly return to the Keg! read more

A steakhouse isn't something that I would normally choose when hoping to dine out but we came here because my bf got a Keg gift card for Christmas. Location/Atmosphere/Service: This location is downtown, close to Eau Claire market. If you plan on coming here, I recommend coming after 6pm as downtown parking is free after 6pm. This Keg location has a huge venue! We came on a Thursday evening and even then, it was quite busy. Although busy, it was still very spacious; it didn't feel crammed at all. The server was attentive and friendly. Taste: We ordered the Prime Rib and Peppercorn New York steak. We both loved the prime rib as it was juicy and tender. The Peppercorn New York steak was OK, but not very memorable. We ordered 2 mini desserts: fudge brownie and creme brulee and they were both very tasty. Although I have had better desserts elsewhere, they were typical restaurant desserts - they hit the spot when craving something sweet. Value for money: The complete order came out to about $120 (with taxes and tips included). This is way more than we would typically spend for a dinner and it was definitely a treat. Our Chicago based hockey team was in town for the Mac's Midget hockey tournament over Christmas and New Years 2019/20. This was our first visit to Calgary and this particular Keg. I can only say we hit the "Jackpot " as the Keg staff at this location was second to NONE in more ways than one! Our schedule with the boys was crazy at times yet the Keg staff was always willing to accommodate us by staying open later, pre ordering meals etc. I would like to personally thank Taylor the manager who went above and beyond to help us. I'd also like to throw out a HUGE shout out and thanks to Leah (AKA Princess ) she put up with our nonsense the entire week. Leah was much more than a bartender, she was like a friend you can only hope for. Anytime our drinks were empty ( Dbl Tito's and soda w/ lime) the backup was right there. She was super personable which always made drinking with my boys Kevin (AKA Bruce), Chris, Brett , Chad etc much more enjoyable and certainly more entertaining. It was my 32nd birthday and we had a late night dinner at The Keg Steakhouse Downtown, just me and my husband. That was around 10pm. We were being seated by the host on a table for two and no one else was in the area where we were assisted. I was 7 months pregnant back then, and I was hoping to be seated on the couch if it's not too much to ask and obviously the restaurant dining area wasn't busy that time. Anyway, I should've tried asking to be transferred to the couch to be more comfortable, but then I assumed that the seating arrangement is the host's discretion. We were assisted very well and we waited for our order max 30 minutes. We ordered Steak and lobster, Steak and Tiger Shrimp, Coffee, Escargot, and French Onion Soup. The servings are really generous. We were impressed by the communication skills and product knowledge of the waiter (I didn't catch his name), you can tell that he is really enjoying his job and he serves customers from the heart. He wasn't too pushy when suggesting dishes, he allowed us to choose while explaining the differences, the taste, and ingredients. The place is cozy with not too loud jazz music in the background, the restrooms are clean and you really get what you paid for ($96+ tax for two) Before I forget, the waiter gave us a complimentary huge slice of Mocha Ice Cream Cake with Roasted Almonds and Caramel on top (my favourite dessert!) read more
