Strike 2: On the 2nd attempt, I did get a call from Nathan, but I was on a work call. He left a voice message. I called back shortly after and left a voice message apologizing for missing the call but am ready for someone to come by. The appointment time comes and goes, and no one shows up again. Strike 3: I message Chanel via Yelp again, and she indicated that she'll reschedule me again. On the 3rd day, I get no call from Nathan, and no one shows up. I give up.

While they weren't punctual, they were affordable, staff was pleasant, and they were efficient once they arrived. We then hired Nathaniel and crew to do some yard work. Punctuality continued to be an issue. In fact, they wouldn't even come on the day they stated, and they were difficult to get a hold of. Still, we found Nathaniel pleasant to work with and the job was completed according to our agreement. Unfortunately, we can't recommend them or use them again because we have a contract with them, and they never finished about $900 of the work. They kept saying they'd come. The admin person kept saying her emails were stuck in her outbox, so we didn't receive communication about delays. Nathaniel stopped responding to texts. We even had our lawyer send a letter, and no one responded. We decided not to pursue the issue further. Needless to say, this was an expensive and overwhelmingly negative experience.

We had used Marlon for some tree work and general landscaping approx. 2 years ago, 2019, and wanted at that time to remove a tree which was severely damaging our sidewalk to a point the sidewalk was dangerous. Unfortunately Cambridge had a tree removal moratorium in place so we had to delay this work. We finally decided to go forward with the tree removal, pay Cambridge the fine for removal and we called Marlon. Marlon seemed happy to hear from us again and have a repeat customer. Marlon sent his tree person out to provide an estimate for the tree removal, trimming another tree and removing a dead tree stump and sidewalk repair. Seems like a decent size smallish job. Marlon's tree man said he would have a proposal to us "shortly" within the following week. We never received a quote-proposal. We have left several voice msgs and have also sent two or three e-mails to Marlon and we have never heard back. Marlon has ghosted us. There is another review where Marlon scheduled an appt. and never showed up. If you want to be ghosted or waste your time waiting for Marlon well, then he's your man-company. Find someone else who does care and does good work. Too bad to lose a repeat customer.

Victory Plus replaced four double-hung vinyl windows at a rental property for me. While his work…read morewas OK the experience as a whole left a lot to be desired. First of all the project was months behind schedule. Victor said he was sick for over a month when he was supposed to install so that put us behind to begin with. People get sick so this is excusable, but that wasn't the end of it. When the scheduled (delayed) install date came up I got a call the day before where he informed me the windows hadn't been ordered at all. Apparently a quote was generated but the order wasn't placed. This resulted in a further 4-5 week delay. Had Victor actually checked for an order confirmation this second delay wouldn't have happened. On the day of the install Victor told me he would show up by 9am to start. He didn't show up till 11am. On day 2 of the install he again said he would be there by 9am but didn't show till 10am. Not much respect for my time as I had scheduled open slots in between meetings to get him started on the job. The next issue was with the charge to get rid of the old windows. He had included this in the original quote but said that the dump had increased the minimum charge a lot so he wanted me to share the cost. I declined to do this and he got very rude about it with me. I didn't appreciate that one bit, given that the increased cost of the dump could have happened during the long delay and so I wasn't responsible for it. Finally the job included paint and trim repair. He did do this but not that well as he was rushing to get to something else. Had he showed up on time he wouldn't have had to rush but somehow me insisting that I would pay the balance once the job was completed made me an a-hole. He got very pissed off at me and yelled at me that "I knew you were this type of guy when you refused to pay for the increased dump fee." Overall his work was OK but the rest of the experience was lousy. Would not use this contractor again.

Then they came in, destroyed the whole old steps in one day, and build a whole new frame for them out of concrete (not sand), cinderblock, and cinder bricks. Then we can go to Value: The estimate for the work was incredibly reasonable for 5 days worth of work for 3 people. So much precision in the joints, in the alignment of the blue stone, and in the stairs. Our back steps get A LOT of use, and there is a water\ice leak over them that causes a lot of trouble. The new steps were re-designed to shed water so that this problem is rare. I am so happy with them!
