The inside area was small but I snagged a table. There were also tables on the outside. The ambiance definitely took me back to Chicago. Food wise, I was initially disappointed that my hotdog bun didn't have poppy seeds, but that didn't matter as much once I took my first bite. Very good and tasted authentic! The fries were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the perfect combo! Great location to grab a quick bite!

So Good !!!!!! Chicago Dog, Italian Beef (sweet peppers), Chili Cheese Dogs and Fresh Cut Fries !!!!!

I love this place. Great Chicago Dogs and fresh cut French Fries. Just as good as being in Chicago. The chili cheese dog was great. The Italian Beef was juicy and delish. Last trip, I had the sausage, it was tasty. The family that runs the place are the nicest people. We need to support more businesses like this and less corporate chains.

What a unique style restaurant. No other place like it in the Palm Beach area. The Chicago Dogs are perfect. Fries come with the dogs, so it's a whole meal in itself. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. I came for lunch and it was slightly busy, so I do think they're doing pretty good. The location isn't favorable, but that's definitely not a deal breaker. Great find for sure.

Such friendly people. I love a place that's family owned and run by the family and the kids. The hotdogs are perfect, just like NYC...I don't get the Chicago style since im a New Yorker. The fries are fresh cut and fried right in front of you. They even offer free refills of fries, amazing. I been here before but I just had to mention how great this little place is.

The people who own an operate this restaurant are from Chicago and they make the best Chicago dogs and the best Italian beef that you feel like you're in the city of Chicago! They are absolutely phenomenal and I highly recommend this restaurant. John & Sheryl Wysockey

Chicago Hot Dogs gets a 5-Star rating from me because of the fantastic staff, quality food and the Chicago experience! Me and hubby were born in Illinois, and have become big fans of this place. He loves their Italian Beef, but I'm a sucker for the chili cheese dog. But I gotta tell you, they also have delicious tamales - especially the tamale boat. The fries are amazing - hand cut just like homemade but better. Crispy on the outside - pure yum on the inside . Don't wear your fancy clothes tho - it's messy - just like it should be.

    Scummy coleslaw

The location is in a strip mall, as its typical of most of these "types". Let me be clear. This is not a Chicago dog place, it's a rather cheap replica that lacks authenticity and atmosphere. Let me walk you through this event: Approaching the locations it's not impressive but, isn't scary either. The interior of the joint is small and cramped, not dirty but, certainly not sparkling. The woman behind the counter was wearing a mask. This is where the Chicago authenticity ends. After a flurry of customers came in, I got my chance to order. "I'll have the Jumbo". That was my first mistake. Apparently, the Jumbo requires a few days to prepare. I patiently waited for 13 minutes as I watched the kitchen staff diligently work at the hot dog preparation. I want to add that hot dog prep isn't supposed to be that of Michelin star calibre. Not that I'm saying it was anything near that type of service, because it wasn't. In all fairness, it's not meant to be there. Just sayin. As I watched the endless Jumbo dog prep, the masked lady behind the counter changed gloves at least 3 times. Again, very Chicago like accuracy, for which I commend her. I watched with a rabid suspicion as she skimmed the coleslaw with a small spoon, apparently removing the scum from the top layer of the cabbage concoction and dumping it in the waste basket. The tray was then set. It actually was well presented but, the tray was no match for the skimmed scum concoction and "Jumbo" dog, that was not Jumbo, nor was it Chicagoan. Listen, look at the hot dog pictures, they speak for themselves. They lack vibrant color and toppings. Some mustard with a. Quarter pickle wedge doesn't mean it's a Chicago dog. That is unless you come here. Then with the wave of a magic wand by the frantic glove changing, mask wearing maestro, it becomes ..... a Chicago dog..... The saving grace; the fries. Although a little too greasy, I give them credit. They are cut on premises and fried on the spot. Not too shabby I say. I give the fries a 3 and that is what saved the critique from the all too elusive 1 star. If you want a hot dog that isn't too nasty, but not a delicacy, come here. Just avoid the scum on the coleslaw You'll thank me later.

    Really enjoying a Chicago Dog

Highly recommended for a great hot dog meal and a fun time. First off the atmosphere and people welcome you with open arms. Then a simple menu leans you towards a Chicago Hot Dog or a NYC Hot Dog ( to accommodate those who enjoy a good hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut). The Chicago is the star with many fresh toppings that just make it a full meal with a side of fresh cut French fries. We came with a dog and sat at the outside tables.

The menu kicks ass. You can get a dog with different types of creative toppings. Each one of the menu items have a crazy name for them and it suits each one well. I wanted to try all of them, but I stopped myself from doing so. The Exchange Student was ahhhh-mmazing! It was topped with garlic mayo, pineapple, and potato chips. The bun was perfectly toasted with butter and I enjoyed each bite more than the last. My husband got the Principal Ron and it was topped with bacon, BBQ sauce, and goat cheese. I took a bite of his and it was good, but I wanted mine more ;) Kudos to the guy that was doing the orders that night since he was the only one on the truck doing all the work. Even though it was the longest line out of all of the other food trucks that were there, he quickly handled each order smoothly and didn't stressed about the crowd waiting for those delicious dogs. The schedule is online, so you can check out when and where you can get one or four of these delicious hot dogs. The $5 price is fairly reasonable for each one of them. I definitely will try a different one the next time I visit the truck.

He ordered the Pauly D pizza and it was as good as Buddy's pizza in Michigan. Thick crispy crust was delicious. I ordered a chicken pita sandwich with no tomato and no cheese (normally has American cheese and Swiss cheese). A massive sandwich was placed in front of me - it could not even be folded into a wrap size. I started to eat from the top and was about 1/3 of the way done when I noticed it had cheese still (which I cannot eat due to extreme dairy sensitivity). I went back to the counter and asked if I could get a different kits without cheese. The owner was at the counter and immediately took the sandwich from me and had the chef remake it. I was a bit surprised that it was going to be remade when a new pita would have made me happy. Well I got a new meal and dig in again. My husband had pizza leftover so he took it to his sister's house as she just moved into a new condo in Boynton Beach. Her and her BFF took one look at the pizza and dove in. They enjoyed it so much that she ordered three pizzas for her condo-warming party! Folks really enjoyed it! And if you are from Michigan or visited when younger, they have a good selection of Faygo pop (cuz you gotta call it pop like MI natives do). We would definitely come back here again.

We ordered a Hawaiian hot dog, a Choriperro, two appetizers, and drinks, spending about $50. First, our server brought just one hot dog out of the four meals. It looked like a Hawaiian hot dog--pineapple, pink sauce, chips on top--so I assumed it was mine and ate it. However, when the rest of the food arrived over 20 minutes later, my husband realized he'd been given a Hawaiian hot dog instead of the Choriperro he ordered. We told the waitress, who took the plate back, but the manager came over and insisted that what I'd eaten was a Choriperro, not a Hawaiian hot dog. Despite me explaining that I'd already eaten the Hawaiian hot dog, she argued and refused to replace my husband's order with what he originally wanted. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the manager returned to our table carrying a tray with an uncooked regular hot dog and a Choriperro to "teach" us the difference, as though we were clueless. It was humiliating and unnecessary. Yes, I mistakenly ate the wrong hot dog because it was covered in so many condiments that I didn't realize it was the Choriperro--but that's precisely why the staff should have helped fix the mix-up rather than argue and try to "educate" me. Rather than provide good customer service, the manager chose to belittle and embarrass us in front of the restaurant. My husband ended up eating a hot dog he didn't want or enjoy, and we left feeling humiliated and angry. I would never return to La Perrada del Gordo and absolutely do not recommend it to anyone. A simple mistake could have been handled kindly and professionally, but instead, the staff made it the worst dining experience I've ever had.

The food was okay, but the prices were high for frozen steak, and frozen meatballs that were reheated and sold as a 19$ sandwich. Do better. Customers watch the staff make the food. The chips were stale and not salted. They were most definitely fried hours before, you can see buckets of pre fried chips sitting all over the kitchen/ on top of fridges in random nooks along with the chefs not washing hands between dishes. I definitely would not return for food or in general. When I go out drinking I'm looking for affordable food that doesn't break the bank since I break the bank buying drinks as it is. Especially not cheap frozen meat for 19$ a sandwich. The meat in both sandwiches tasted frozen. 19$ for frozen meat from Cheney brothers or US foods that was bought wholesale and resold for that amount is crazy to me. Especially in such a nice area. Please do better. (I am a butcher and it's obvious when you are sold frozen meats you can taste it) - if you used better quality meat that cheesesteak would've been amazing it was dry and tasted freezer burnt. The beer cheese was a nice touch on top and it had a beautiful amount of onions- I did notice there is not an equal amount for the chips on every plate. I watched plates come out with a good amount of chips and I watched my plate come out with barely any chips on it. That was disappointing. Although if you are looking for a variety of drink selections and a place to watch tv this would be a great option for you. They don't have pool tables or any activities.
